Asus supreme FX rev 1 i see this only works with certain boards the one i got today. :)

PNY GT 620 GeForce Nvidia Grafikkarte (1GB,

And this board ASUS P5N32 -E SLI plus modal . It only has a lowly Pentium D on the board:( i see that i could get £20 on eBay for the other two things.thats if they work off course.
if CEX had this in stock it would be £12. :)

Its a right pain waiting for someone to delivery something ,and the time they said they would be here is running out ten minutes to go. :( Has anyone else had the same problem having to wait in for someone who does not turn up.o_O

We've got your Packlink parcel and we're delivering it today between 15:00 - 17:00.

Times up and still not turned up :rockout:
This the actual board i got Asus p5n32 e sli plus my one needs a good dusting though.

I just got this messade from the delivery firm

*There's a delay with the delivery of your parcel.*

After waiting in when they said they would deliver it They did not even say sorry or anything. :rockout:

It's already evident that the X850XT is the faster card, up until it isn't because it doesn't support the full dx 9.0c feature set, still a lot of benching and comparing to do before I make the judgement of what matters more to me and this particular box and set of games installed.

To be fair, I'd wager the pro could likely go head to head with a 6800U, depending on the clocks of either...

I the long run if I decide to stick with the X850XT in the retro box, I'll want an aftermarket cooler for sure, this one's already a hair-dryer at 50% fan speed...

Or I can go for a faster card and do something fun like put the 6800U and X850XT in a box on the wall with glass and a sign "break in case of a 2004 gaming emergency" or the like
Forgot to mention that mine are AGP versions. I have some issues with my AM2NF3-VSTA which SUCKS, otherwise they would be comparable with other cards; I could benchmark newer ones with just a AM2+ PCIe board and compare to the AGP ones.

Pentium D CPUs are fun to overclock though. I have a Pentium D 9xx (can't remember the model) which is stable at 4.8GHz.

Are they broken or just missing? IIRC the all pins aren't neccessary but I could be wrong.

I very strongly disagree with Clint on this, provisionally. That particular line of PC from Dell was a joy to work on, very easy to upgrade and for the models that had an AGP port, made for excellent sleeper gaming systems. The models without AGP were recycling fodder. Also, I like the look of them! That particular system he has was one of the good ones. I hope he recaps it and shows it the "LGR" brand of love it deserves! This is one of the few times Clint and I do not agree. However, everyone has their own sensibilities and preferences, so it's all good.

I should think Clint would recap the caps, he is a very through person on everything he does. :) You are right there Lex about what is good or bad.Whats your view on the pins 3 and 5 on the motherboard connecter being not on there?I have only seen pin 6 not on a connector.I understand pins 3 and 5 are Ground,6 is Reserved.I am waiting for the heatsink cooler which was ment to come yesterday to test it after i have giving it a dust.

It seems all the odd numbered pins are ground (or earth as you guys call it). That being the case, it should still work with only 2 of the 16-17 grnd pins missing.

Was quite bored so I rigged up a few bits to see what the dual P3 would be able of. Since I didn't have a Server 2008 x86 disc, a "lite" version of Vista Ultimate SP2 will do. I temporarily disconnected the SCSI Seagate I usually run, and also temporarily replaced the Raptor with a spare 80GB Samsung I had (HD082GJ).

GPU is an ASUS HD3450 512MB, AGP 8x @ 4x.

Hi buddy

Interesting chip.
What's the story behind it ?

Have you tested it yet ? ... what core stepping cpuz reports ?
Does that small QR code give any useful info ?
I had to load an OS onto the machine to get a reading of what it was.
I used both - The older, more reliable 1.59 version due to the machine's age and the newest as of this post (2.09) to be sure of what it was saying would be accurate and here it is.

Hey guys. I recently found a socket 7 computer and it seems that the Pentium MMX is the fastest CPU Intel made for this socket. I was expecting to see exorbitant prices on eBay because that’s a running theme for other parts that were top-of-the-line at some point. To my surprise, the Pentium MMX CPUs are quite cheap compared to the fastest Pentium IIs and IIIs. Do any of you know why these are cheap in comparison to their successors?
