What are you playing?

Last Epoch is cool and so are a few other ARPGs that I like, I don't have any problem with that but there is 1 thing that no other ARPG does as well as Diablo does for me and thats the gameplay in general and its what draws me back every Season or so even if only for a few weeks. 'between Seasons if I feel like playing an ARPG thats when I play some other ones'
Idk how to put it but it just feels more 'polished' and fun to me especially when I got my build going. 'This Frozen Orb Sorc is just a madness eye candy with tons of things going on on the screen, too bad that its not exactly great vs bosses but eh can't have everything  '
I feel ya, its about the only thing I really like about D3 and D4 as well. Its smooth, it plays well indeed.

So many final fantasy's it's become the least truthful franchise of all time.
That's what using an IP for recognition will do, I suppose. It seems companies want to play it safe. And I can't say I completely blame them; as much as we consumers give them a hard time for never innovating, we also complain when our favorite thing changes in a way we don't like, or we refuse to buy the unknown stuff in greater numbers while consistently buying the big name stuff regardless.

The various Final Fantasy titles are, for the most part, loosely related at best anyway. Compare any random two titles and there's a good chance they'll be so far apart in what they are that they may as well be in different franchises.

I decided to try world tier 4 at level 57, got it unlocked and this is the first two ancestral legendary drops I got, both weapons, bothn required level 58 and i just turned level 58... blizz is just trolling me at this point, too fun :D

I have not had this much fun in ages, honestly, Blizz deserves the $35 sell price for this game, going to get it on Steam since I won't lose any progress as my pc game pass and steam are both tied to same battle net account. I probably am going to take this necromancer to 100, because again, just having too much fun now to. So many little tricks and things I am learning here and there. :D

I still have 7 skeletal warriors and 5 mages and my golem has like 600% bonus damage, its insane. :D tier 4 is finally challenging me enough im having fun again, the pacing of this game has been perfect so far, right when i was about to quit it sucked me back in lmao well done.

hopefully my next ancestral drop is some boots, I will replace these but codex the bonus 20% speed on them

edit: its confirmed, blizz is trolling fuck out of me. just got my first ancestral non-weapon, and here is what happened when i did my first temper to it... lmao.

warcraft???

warcraft???

no diablo iv, I binged all night, level 70 now, haven't had this much fun in ages. lesson of the day = I was right, always wait for a game to be out for a year before you play it, they all need polished. lol

I had the same experience with Diablo III, waited 5 years until after it was out before I played it, and had a ton of fun with it.

found a video on YT with NFS The Run and now I'm playing it, thanks god GTX 1650 is suitable for 2K@ultra quality 100+ FPS in this game:D:D:D

So all fixed up now? I was considering it at launch, but some of the reviews were pretty scathing................

Does anyone know if minions in Diablo IV benefit from your potions? So if I use a 15% attack speed potion for 30 mins on myself, do my skeletal warriors and mages get that benefit too, or does that only apply to main stats from armor?

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Lib.

Oubliette by Dan Terminus

What brought me here is that I started it up and hit play on a song that was next on playlist and it went harder than I think it should have with how the track sync'd with the game loading and opening intro and thought I'd share.

Just finished Control's Foundation DLC (had finished AWE earlier). Just amazing, I guess Remedy earned a new fan. Also, max RT made the game look awesome, even if the performance tax is possibly not worth it. Good to have the power to do it and still have high framerates at hand.
Speaking of earning, I owe an apology to some people here due to an earlier discussion. After tuning down the PBO on my 5700X3D to a measly -10 all-core, the game didn't crash anymore.

from my understanding (i only play rogue) they do not directly benefit but since they get 30% of stats from your character any potions that raise your stats also impact them. Potions that raise thorns for example would not impact them. Always use potions for the 5-8% exp increase

its pretty entertaining now, probably my favorite of them all.

Currently playing Uncharted 4, though sometimes it's more like watching.
This one is far more cinematic than I remember previous ones being, almost reminds me of playing Metal Gear.

Ultra settings at 1440 on my GTX1060 outweighed SE5 yet again.

For some reason I'm having an easier time getting into this than SE4. Admittedly purchased for the terrain and practice in handling unpredictable prey that fight back. Tigers mostly, leopards could be a handful next week as well.

It's just mind-boggling to me that a 20-year-old platform forked from a 25-year-old port of a 30-year-old engine is still viable for creating entertaining games.

I absolutely suck at shooters, but I'm more curious about Selaco than any other.
Tried out the demo, it's... pretty good, but not quite IT for me. I'm more curious about Prodeus and Supplice personally. Then again, I just found out about PK Reloaded mod 4.2 and canNOT miss that one, given PK is the game I played more less on and on, one way or another, for 2 decades...

Rn, getting my feet wet in Natuski Chronicles. Pulled the trigger on 1 Euro deal. It's a side-scroller shmup with a lot of bullet hell, but also a lot of rough edges clearly polished - it does good job telegraphing stuff, so while hard, it doesn't feel unfair. Still, pretty brutal stuff there. Those ranks are from normal, and needless to say, nowhere near first tries. If you like shmups and are not daunted by high difficulty, I say give it a shot. Worst comes to worst, can refund. I might just clock in enough hours to not be eligible anymore, and that in itself is a seal of approval already.

Since the current Season 4 update the minions receive 100% of the Necro's stats. :) 'one of the reasons why they are so busted strong now, not sure about the Potions tho but I don't think thats shared'
I'm playing a Shadow Minion Necro atm but I also have a Frozen Orb Sorc but she has the worse gear for now since I'm mainly focusing on pushing end game content with my Necro atm. 'All of my Glyphs are lvl 21 and farming Pit lvl 75 for materials, could go higher but thats my sweet spot atm'

Yep I've been mainly playing Sorc since the launch ofc with a diff build each time:laugh:, I did have a lvl 70+ Rogue in S2 but I've deleted her since I plan to play Rogue properly in the next Season or so. 'honestly I did not like any of the Rogue builds in S2 but now there are some fun ones that I might like'
Still yet to play Barb or Druid..
I will also buy the Expansion and play it on day 1 so theres that. 'standard 40$ edition will do just fine this time around'

No its the same game dont get misled :)

Not entirely true, core game and the story sure yes it is the same cause they wont remake the entire game obviously.
But the game is in fact still in development like any game with Seasons that brings updates and it changed a fair bit since the launch version and it was for the better that much I can say. 'still has issues but its easier to pick up now or even push a char to early end game content than before, its the late end game that has issues currently'
Btw the game is mostly positive on Steam atm and knowing how critical can Steam users can be thats not too bad imo.

Created a fictitious parallel universe English soccer league in FIFA 10 (the newest thing I know how to mod).

Realism > lulz but that doesn't apply to jerseys.

This thing is weirdly integrated into existing English league system. Three logos are made by me personally, the others are AI generated + polished in photo editors. Some screenshots are outdated.

It's still WIP, I'm making the Championship equivalent, also gonna make it independent from England (yohoho! The 4th of July ahoy!)
FIFA 10 proved to be fun but it's a cesspool of bugs, really nasty ones.

Transferring and reconfiguring everything in FIFA 09 now.

Still got 20 clubs to be fully transferred from 10 to 09. No one ever made an automated tool for that so it takes forever for me to manually re-enter all that stuff. Everything works, yet I need to rebalance it a little bit because some players are overpowered and some are underpowered. Also not every team has full set of jerseys (home + away + goalie), most of them only make do with field players' ones.

Slap me if you're eager to test this mod out, I'll upload it to whatever file sharing service you trust. NB: will not work properly on non-English versions of the game. I can fix it but it's too time taxing already.

These are the same issues that have plagued D4 on launch, late game wasn't fun. What's different now is that they made the early game easier so you get your gratification flashes from level ups more often. Its standard Blizzard/WoW M.O. we have seen it a dozen times already, new content, so they reduce the grind for the previous content so 'everyone can step in easily'. Yawnfest... Don't you walk away feeling screwed over for farming the long way before they did that? I know I do. It makes everything feel meaningless.

Everyone's at liberty to like whatever they like but its still a mindless grind with the same skills, same classes and same systems, plus the same ultra limited scope of things. Blizzard will juggle around power builds and stats for the next couple of years and carrots will be chased by donkeys, that is all Diablo 4 is going to write. Heck, its all D3 wrote as well, let's be real here, except they called it greater rifts.

It is what it is. If that's fun to you, its fun :) But don't sell it off as something new or different. That's just bullshit. D4 is a gacha game in disguise, nothing else. And you can safely leave it up to Blizzard to keep fooling you into thinking you're actually playing more than a fully managed experience. But you're not. They control everything, player agency is a fairy tale here. Every sliver of power you can attain is predicted, and if its not, Blizzard will rapidly patch it out. The house always wins.

I don't, I actually enjoy experiencing the game's constant progress one way or another and thats one of the reasons why I return pretty much each season and play a different build/check out the new things and changes. 'this also gives me a more realistic perspective/knowledge when comparing how the game progressed vs the launch version'
D3 is also nothing like what it was at launch and I'm glad that I've experienced all of its stages, if someone has its easier than it was for me before so what good for them and for the game. :) 'oh boy how this is the case for Borderlands 3 too, that game had some rough patches but the current final version is much easier on new players who want to try the end game or anything really'

Also lets be real here what you described is true for most of the ARPGs anyway 'PoE does pretty much the same', thats simply how this genre works or at least for many years now. 'same with looter shooters for the most part'
Only exceptions being pretty much the offline ARPGs like Titan Quest/Grim Dawn that does not have a constant online service with Seasons and updates that nerf/buff builds or remove entire systems for a new one. 'Last Epoch is too new to judge in this regard but it seems like something between'

Tbh if all someone experiecend is the BASE game of an ARPG or a Looter Shooter then years later still keeps saying that its the same crap then sorry but that opinion is invalid imo cause its simply not true. 'it would be easier to say that the person simply did not like the core game and call it a day/move on instead of trying to deny all of the changes/updates the game in fact had'

Theres a new mid Season patch coming next week already, hopefully addressing some of the current late game issues.

This right here is the nail on the proverbial head. Live service ARPG versus offline based is what defines these differences. The first one wants to keep you playing, the second is friendly on your time and mainly designed to have a lot of fun playing, it doesn't care you quit after 200 odd hours. But the first 200 contain more variety and functionality than the first 1000 in a live service ARPG. I think you're also quite right about LE being something in between.

But I also think a game like PoE manages the live service aspect better, in several ways, than Diablo. PoE isn't just vertical progression, but horizontal as well; you will re-roll your class more than once and refine it simply because of the sheer amounts of options, Diablo doesn't have any horizontal progression - only vertical. It just forces out some resets by making you re-roll per season, but there's really no real reason in the sense of different skill options or 'building differently'. You could just do that on any existing character too.

Either way, enjoy D4 :) You did trigger me just enough that I might consider installing it again just to have another look-see :)

Tbh I've always prefered the option to change/re roll my build on 1 char 'my fav is the Armory system in D3' but I will admit I've barely did that with my D4 chars so far cause respeccing the entire Paragon table is a pain in the ass along with the whole gear especially now with Tempering. 'at most I advance my leveling build to my end game build and thats it for that char until the next Season when I pick up a different build'
But ye all I can say is what I've already said, if the core game/gameplay rubs you the wrong way then I guess nothin will really change that since its very unlikely that they will change it that much but the smaller things are being improved slowly. 'heres hoping that the first Expansion will help the game out in a bigger way like what LoD did to D2 and RoS to D3 and I will be here to play the test subject  ..'

Anyway thats about enough Diablo/ARPG related offtopic from me.

On a more ontopic related thing, I've finished Hellblade 2 and I've quite enjoyed it even if its more like a playable Art/movie kind of a game. 'has to be one of the most immersive games that I've ever played tho, especially the combat scenes were insane'
I should really go back and finish Forbidden West before I start playing something on Gamepass yet again. 'they keep adding games that I'm interested in..'

I think potions are shared, because Holy Elixir triggers from each one of my skeleton warriors, its pretty insane how OP it is in nightmare dungeons I have no business being in considering my respective lower level.

I got bored of the grind though, I am very much a story only type gamer, then move on to next story. So, I have uninstalled Diablo IV from PC game pass, and am now playing Immortals of Aveum, you can see my thoughts here so far:
