What are you playing?

Yeah tbh I wasn't expecting much when I've picked up the game on the launch day but it looked like a possible fun game for a few weeks/months maybe but now here I am still playing the damn thing more than 1.5+ years later. 'played the current event mini game today for like 2 hours:laugh:, its basically Dave the diver lite version in Nikke which is now I'm interested in cause its oddly addictive/fun'

Sure for most ppl on the surface its nothing but yet another cash grab gacha for the thirsty/cultured ppl and that part might be true but theres a lot more to it imo. 'I mean when a game can play with my emotions then I know that they did something right, not many game does that to me btw'
Nowadays I get more excited for a big story update in this game than a new AAA game relase..
I'm genuinely curious to see what happens next and how some of the characters develop in the story, for me this game is an art and its not just some low quality gacha or whatever.
This game also helps with my moods cause it can make me laugh my ass off at times with the story/character writing. 'it has its dark moments but imo theres a solid balance'
Sountrack is also good enough that I sometimes listen to some of the songs when I'm not even playing the game.

Also for what its worth I was playing the game 100% free2play for 1.5 years with no real issues to speak of 'reached end game and got almost all of the characters in the game at that point'.
We got some really nice limited skins for the 1.5 year anniversary event and thats when I've decided to buy one of them cause I wanted it and I also felt like that they deserve some support from me after getting this ammount of fun out of their game for free. 'much more than what I get out of a lot of the AAA games actually..'

Btw Nikke is from the Stellar Blade devs, needless to say that the moment Stellar Blade drops on PC I'm gonna buy it right away.:)

I appreciate how you expounded upon your feelings wrt the game; that's exactly how I feel wrt many of the games I play (like Destiny or Division 2; now First Descendant).

They may be very different, but can unite us in response to them, which then attracts others to partake in those moments from media they are unfamiliar; gathering more insight into their unique attributes.

Yes, ofc, I know Shift Up created both titles. That was kind of my point.;)

WRT emotional response, I will only tell you that Stellar Blade made me feel truly manic. I was disgusted, then crying, then laughing, then content/contemplative, then crying some more, then laughing...

Let's just say I found it cathartic to an extreme degree.

When I could write a college thesis paper on aspects of Stellar Blade I feel few have touched upon, I have no doubt similar is true of Nikke.

Yet, what will spur their breakthrough into public consciousness beyond their aesthetic? I don't know. Hence, that is why I ask people to articulate upon those lesser-known particulars from their own POV.

Only took me a couple of weeks with relatively busy work schedule, but I finally made it!
Mortal Shell is completed!
Just as I expected - just a bit of practice and everything will eventually click. Still too far from "mastering" everything there is to the gameplay, but definitely a long way from where I started.
Basically the first 10 or so hours: agonizing pain and suffering. Constantly scraping for resources trying to explore the map and get as many goodies for upgrades. (that's when I made my first post about it, and immediately on the next launch made it through Fallgrim and Temple grounds in a single sitting).
Next 5 hours: Ok, now I upgraded my gear and shell, so I can finally explore other locations and kill some bosses. This stuff is easy!
Next 3 hours: You get your dreams crushed trying to defeat the final boss :D
I'm already on my NG+ playthrough trying to get as many achievements as possible, while in parallel building up some stuff for virtuous cycle runs.
I know it sounds boring running through the exact same locations doing the same stuff over and over again, but when it comes to Mortal shell - it never gets old(or less aggravating :nutkick:)
Probably by the time I'm done with NG+ and DLC I'll be ready for the final challenge - beating the game in Obsidian form. The achievement for it is called "Life is Suffering"... quite conspicuous.... :D

mortal shell just might be the souls with the most brutal hit box. it demands from the player high accuracy. elden ring / based in the back bone if DS3...has easy hit box.

the parry in MS is like nothing else. you need to parry when the hit is there...in Elden ring you start to parry when the enemy tries to hit. the difference is brutal.
anyone can parry in Elden, NOBODY can parry, atleast like 40% of the times in MS. same for the dodging mechanic in MS that supposed to give you invisibility frames

Why the multiple shadows for some things?

Just dragon age origins (and dealing with all the crashes) and sandland but still bored. I should probably touch grass.

Generation Zero (still)

played (again) through most Valve Games over the last week and today i played the CoD WaW campaign.
next game will be gloomwood.

Building myself a little town here

Bulwark Falconeer Chronicles. Plays well on deck... This is pretty great stuff, free form building, stuff gets generated as you lay out the paths and build towers. At first I thought it was a mess, but damn. This is a very nice little game!

And if you grow bigger, factions might not like it and go to war with you. This plays out automagically too, it seems.

Picked up Aseprite which is pixel graphics design and illustration software. It's got some stable diffusion text to prompt even baked into it to aid in the creation of pixel graphics which is honestly useful and cool. Anyway seemed like it could be useful and fun to dabble with.

100 hours in SMT V: Vengeance, finished 1 ending in CoC, trying to get the CoC secret ending then i'll be trying the new CoV story + superboss.
I've just beaten Shiva, Masakado and Demi-fiend.
Ranking in tedious:
Demi-fiend, I had to turn the difficulty down to casual to beat him
Masakado, found a winning strategy by following this guide someone used on youtube but I did it on a diff character
Shiva, very simple once you learn a decent strategy to control the field
Here is my squad to date to deal with Demi-fiend, minus Tao as she is part of end game story and the reason why she isn't lvl 99.

Are the differences / addons worth it versus the OG version? I replay Nocturne on occasion, its still brilliant imho

To do: I need to map a button for screenshots :D

I'm hooked to FarCry, can't believe this game is 20 years old now. I'm using my Eizo MX215 with 10-bit color depth. Idk if game have such color support but it looks great nonetheless. Still there is problem rendering distant object/foliage.

Classic game. It was the best Far Cry game so far of the ones that I've played. The reason imo is because Crytek was the Developer. Ubisoft should have stayed with them for future games in the series.

It the only one of the Far Cry games I liked. I was really hoping for more of the original storyline/character when they had the sequel, but that hope was quickly dashed.

Still enjoying The Thirst Descendent for the plot....

That first animated lobby image cost me a few months of saved up resources but its like whatever I have nothing better to do at this point and it was well worth it.
Last one is a given for everyone who finishes the summer story and its actually really nice.:)

The improvement alone is worth it in my opinion, I've not touched the new added story yet so I can't comment on that.
The ability to play at higher FPS makes watching the animation a lot better too.

I expanded a little bit. And there's a photo mode.
