I've just come back from my holiday. 37 degrees there, 16 here. I'm not saying either of these values is normal, but I wouldn't mind a bit more summer, let's say, 25-ish degrees. Something that would make visiting a beach enjoyable. It's goddamn July, for F's sake!

Yeah I got back 10 days ago from an Eastern Med cruise with 8 friends, it was baking hot for the whole 10 days of the cruise and I arrived back to the start of this 2 week stretch of crap weather, I have to keep reminding myself I complained last year when we hit 40 odd degrees over here

I hope it ends soon, though. I could barely leave the house in daytime on my holiday due to extreme heat, and there's no point leaving it here because it's cold and cloudy. I want some decent beach weather!

I bought the exact same watch for a friend in 2015....

£12 isnt toooooooo bad given inflation. I think there is a 'G-Shock' style version that is floating around somewhere.

The G-Shock variant looks awful, I remember my parents getting me it for £10 from H.samuels when I was in middle/secondary school so around £12 isn't too bad to me haha.

There are more cleaner looking examples that are closer to the F91. I was looking at one a few months ago, I'll have to dig around my search history but there are quite a few G-Shock varients of the F91

Actually I take that back. I think the DW5600E-1V is the CLOSEST example. Other models in the same 5600 line seem to be derivatives of the DW5600. i.e solar, radio control, inverted screen etc etc. So it retains the same 5600 shape but has different feature sets. Even step counters and HRMs.

But you buy a G-shock to wear because its overbuilt and roughntough. Not because it fits neatly under the sleeve of your nicely pressed work shirt - although its a huge bonus if it does.

I personally dont think G-Shocks should be stainless steel, They should have their own product line away from G-Shock branding similar to the Edifice line. One scratch or ding on them and you would be heart broken. whereas the hard plastic/resin ones you dont care much about because dings and scratches add character. They are made to get beaten up. Although these days it seems more to be about fashion.
