The results are roughly the same.
Measuring with one of the most inconsistent benchmarks available is not a viable source of evidence of either your statement being true or false.

It's like using hardware monitor instead of hardware info 64....

What is the default vcore like when you set the memory speed at 3600? If the vcore is lower, by how much?

I only have g skill ram

12-14 gen used wouldn't be to expensive, i do have games i don't know why cpu usage isn't 96-100% or close to 100% but think a ryzen 5700x3d + rtx 4070 is a pretty good match for 2560x1400 180hz without going crazy with a 7800x3d + a rx 7900 xt or 4070ti super
If you was to go Raptor lake, it would blow the 5700X3D out of the water on pretty much all fronts. The only option for near similar performance, yet still slower cause you don't OC X3D processors, would be a 7000X3D.

xmp profile to 1, vcore to 1.450 volt, fclk (infiniti fabric) to 2000
Could you still reach 4000 memory speed without changing the Vcore (leaving Vcore at default)?

I'm asking because altering Vcore outside of a specified range may lead to the chip degradation.

So proceed with caution to keep your shiny new 5700X3D working for as long as possible. Cheers!

it can't run 4000mhz at stock voltage

1.450 is no problem, i have heard of ram running at 1.500 volt fine

1.5v is just dandy. 1.55 even 1.60v on ddr4 isn't a big deal. Might want a fan on the sticks just in case, they do better stability running cooler. Aiming 45c is good.

I'm running 1.5v on ddr5 fyi. No big deal. ;)

My 32gb ripjaws v 4000mhz cl18 running 3600mhz cl16 (wasn't stable at 3733mhz cl16 or 4000mhz cl18) i felt like it wasn't up to it's task, job in dakar dessert rally, generally sometimes not running smooth and had the wish for differenet ram (and 64gb), ram that was on the qvl list

Same setting 3600mhz and 3200mhz both 2 times i felt like 3200mhz gave the best result slightly more stable and higher fps, usage of my gpu

My ripjaws v wasn't on the qvl list neither was the 3600mhz cl 16 ripjaws v and some corsair vengeance ram, i wanted my ram to run at the rated speed, don't miss on speed realtive to what they are rated at, ram on the qvl list and support for 4 dimm slots (64 gb)

KF432C16BB1K2/32 with support for 4 dimms is what i have bought, CL16-18-18 not 16-20-20 which cost close to the same

I've done 12 AM5 systems I haven't found a single X3D or vanilla ryzen chip that couldn't do 6000 CL30 stable. From a 7600 all the way up to a 7950X3D

Out of about 50 am4 cpu's I worked with only one could do 4000 stable though a 5800X and I had 5 of them to test with.

2x 32GB should be doable 4x 32GB a hell na.... generally 4 sticks with DDR5 is gonna be a bad day. Knowing him he is probably trying to populate all 4 dimm slots cuz aesthetics lol.

Also now that you say it when I said 4000 stable I mean 2x8.... 4x8 or 2x16 not at any timings I could get stable on Am4

Edit: just watched the video he is only using 2 sticks so as long as it ain't crazy dense it should be easy..... I should say all kits I worked with were 2x16 could be part of the reason why. I do want to do some 2x24 though soon.

he only used 2 ram stick, less then 64 gb is unsually considering he used a 16 core cpu

speed shouldn't matter to much he say himself but he chose 6000mhz

It's not really the speed that matters it's that most boards suck terribly at picking timings on the majority of ram kits.

even 5200 is fine as long as the timings and sub timings aren't crap

Im more into ram running stable and having enough then being fixated about having 3800mhz cl 14 instead 3600mhz cl 16 or to have 3600mhz cl 14 or 3200mhz cl 14 instead of 3200mhz cl 16.

would i mind 3600mhz cl 14 NOPE but 3 times the price of 3200mhz mhz cl 16 and as much as 64 gb of G.Skill Trident Z Royal3 600mhz cl 16 ram with rgb even 32gb of 3200mhz cl 14 is more than twice the price of 3200mhz cl 16

Yeah it use to be really cheap.... 115-120 usd for a decent set of 3800 CL16/3600 CL14 glad I have 8 sticks.... Although 4 of them are in my closet collecting dust lol.

I could imagine buying 64gb 3600mhz cl 14 later when i have the money

Couldn't resist so i bought another pair of of ram to get 64gb + the advantage of 4 ram sticks (not huge)

More times the 64 gb kit wins in 1% and 0.1 % lows (smoothness although minimum)

Can that be right, 0.1% lows ? (think i have asked that question before)

Best thing is to test things out yourself.... I tested all kinds of DDR4 configurations back in the day. I settled on 3600 4x8 and 3800 4X8 with tight sub timings being the best option depending on how cool i could keep the dimms. Requires a decent set of Samsung Bdie ofc.

I noticed it being smoother the day i got them (mabye placebo effect, like getting new speaker cable that is about the same quality as the old but mabye a little longer, not always you notice a difference more then you think you notice a difference)

Now performance is normal, what i experience all the time and might only notice a difference if i compared it to 2 ram sticks of the same speed or much faster like 3800mhz cl 14 (don't get any faster for a ryzen 5000).

I wish they made a 12 core 5000x3d cpu (5900 ?) a 5900x is actually alot cheaper then a 5800x3d and not fare from a 5800x, a 5900x3d they should be able to sell for what a 5800x3d costs and lower the price of a 5800x3d

A 5800x3d is actually 2/3 more expensive then a 5700x3d
