I've been using SYY-157 for a couple of years now. The other day when putting together the latest mistake, I didn't want to wait the 15 minutes to let it cure so I used the MX-6 that came with the cooler. Good stuff so far so I picked up some extra.

Just got a sweet buy for £35

The drivers in the round thing are swiss made, and have spare bits in the middle bit under a cover, the tweezers are very nice quality indeed. Anyone know the brand that has the sword on?

AAKS blues made for pretty good NAS drives before WD segmented their product lines for RAID. Back in 2009 I had gotten 6 x 320GB for RAID6 (4 drives + 2 spares) and only had 2 drive failures within 10yrs.

Well.. a little update with my scooter..

I think I am going to keep it. I got it out of eco mode and she is a ripper, at least compared to my old one. Got some machine screws for the bars so that I don’t die, and if worse comes to worst.. I can always hax it.

For the sake of conversation while only light Summer snow is on the ground up there. Will you be making any pre-season improvements other than low shear strength machine screws placing inequal pressure (or considered the circumstances leading up to their disappearance and scooter being returned) on the handlebar mount.

[only half joking ]

Lol I bought it to ride for the winter :D

I only work about 2 klicks away, so it should be fine.

Heck I have 2 or 3 winters on my ninebot s+ and just over 3700km lol

It is just awkward to carry for more than a half a block.. this one I can push or drag if I have to :D

Cool thing I learned is once you get tired of hitting stuff, you can pull up like on a bike and use the throttle.. pretty neat :)

Well, my Chinese B650i motherboard has come in!

I now need RAM and a processor of course.

Has a single PCIe 1X for the network card sold separately (I use wired anyway).

Motherboard supports:
- PCIe 4.0 16x
- 2x NVME Gen 4
- USB 3.2 - 3 USB-A and 1 USB-C
- 2x USB 2.0
- 2 ARGB ports to really increase speeds when using RGB lights obviously
- DP and HDMI port

I plan to eventually get a Ryzen 7800 X3D which apparently some have used on this board that I have read. And 32GB of DDR5 7000 RAM.

As well, it is apparently Ryzen 9xxx series ready but with the latest bios update.

OEM SoundBlaster Z. I been using Creative cards ever since I first using PC. Last card I purchased was X-Fi TiHD in 2015 I think. I have this weird feeling this might be the last soundcard I ever buy. I still have a few soundcards from SB Live! 5.1, Audigy2 ZS and Xonar HDAV1.3. I'll recap those crappy capacitor.

I use to have the same passion but I was tired being bound by a wire to my pc, so I ended up with Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless evening running my logitech speakers from the usb dac it provides.

I can respect that. I meanwhile can't grasp other device (other than phone) that needs charging/batteries so I like to be bound by wires. That's why I never use wireless mouse/keyboard/earphone/headphone. I tried it before during head-fi meet but it just not my thing. Did buy one wireless earbud to try, yeah I can't stand it needs recharging every few hours, so I never used it more than a few times.

Mine has like 40h battery life or that's what they claim at least. Plus the case integrates battery or something so you can charge it from that several times before recharging it again. The sound quality is fine enough can't really complain it's not bad. I'm sure there are better earbuds, but I'm certainly happy with it overall. It suits it's purpose just fine.

A Kensington mouse pad with gel wrist rest. It's small but I don't game on mouse and keyboard, so it's comfy while browsing.
Another GameSir G7 SE pad as I don't intend using any other pad ever.
EPOS 670 headset. I rate this headset up there with Kef as I'm hearing things I've not heard before. Very good quality. Shame it's got micro USB instead of USB C, but also means I don't need a seperate cable as my Corsair Void headset is the same too.
Also got a 1 meter extension lead solely to plug in a grounding plug so I don't ESD this gpu when installing new Seagate Firecuda 530 2TB SSD and SilverStone blazer 2200rpm cooler fans. Safe than sorry.

Congrats! I still really like mine.

I did have one issue. Apparently I don't know my own strength and pushed the control joystick hard enough that it pushed back into the monitor case.

The good news is MSI replaced it with an entire new monitor within a week. The bad news is that I did have to pay to ship it to them. Thankfully they're close so it was only $20, but I'm glad I saved the box.
ok so you got me nervous so I went ahead and connected the USB header so I can control all settings with the app :p

Back around to purchase an ASROCK a750 this morning. This will be my second foray into Intel GPU waters. First time was great and I am expecting even better results this go around. I will use it for video/photo editing work.

Good old Compute Exchange...
Is it the i3 or Pentium model?

I would sell that network card, unless you have a suitable switch for it.
Also, whoever installed it, put in the wrong expansion slot, as that's the PCIe 2.0 x4 slot, which doesn't have enough bandwidth, but the NAS has a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot for that card...

As for the SSD as cache, from the testing I've done, it's only really useful for data you repeatedly copy from the NAS, but it's possible that QNAP has better cache handling than TerraMaster.
It's a shame the OS can't be force installed on the SSD.

It's the i3, but i do know you can stick a i7 in it. Very might stick 2x8gb sticks of ram in it, and a wifi card. It's a very cool thing, and i love the interface. I have put the network card on ebay as it is no use to me, nice bonus though. For now, i have 2x 4tb discs in it, but will keep my eye out for a couple of 8's as i don't really need anything bigger.

Any recommends for a wifi card?

It's the i3, but i do know you can stick a i7 in it. Very might stick 2x8gb sticks of ram in it, and a wifi card. It's a very cool thing, and i love the interface.

Just be aware that QNAP NAS appliances are a bit of a pita to disassemble.

What's the point of adding WiFi to a NAS?

Dunno thought it might be useful for mobile access, but i guess the app is good enough.

I did look at dissasembly and it is a pita, and a 2-3hr round trip for CPU and ram. They are certainly worth doing it seems. I like the way you can near use it as a PC

The App for phones etc to access the nas
You don't have a router for WiFi at home?
There's exactly zero benefit of adding WiFi to your NAS.
