Speaking about compulsive buying, when I notice that it's time to start adding new stuff to my fleet, some will think I'm just impulse-buying! LOL!

I've been more likely to buy new-old-stock more than ever before, because of all the bull going on lately!

A digi caliper is a must have.
If one don't know how to use the analog. Mostly it only let assume a higher quality result than a caliper can show. In Germany/Europe the accuracy is normed but by amateurs mostly ignored..

i know how to use an analogue but a digital is way faster and better. If you get a good brand, they are super accurate as well ( i compared them using gauge blocks during my mechanical engineering degree, uni had both digi and analogue ones). Plus i am only working till 0.1mm :D

The digital aren't more accurate than the analog ones. They are normed to measure up to 1/10th of an mm. The correct german norm is DIN 862 / Form A. Most people see 2 or 3 digits after the dot ant hink that the caliper will measure correctly in that range.

Minimum you can measure with a non digital is 0.05mm, isn´t that hard to read though but decent digitals can measure with 0.01mm accuracy.

I only replace the essential caps, two on the line out and two on supply caps. I changed the value from 47uF to 22uF align with CS4398 datasheet. I bet Creative use one-size-fits-all caps as these 47uF are from SB Live! days. And a couple of 100uF one for power supply caps, the other is opamp supply caps. Changing the value of opamp supply caps from (again) 47uF to 100uF. Can't hurt to put more capacitance on supply caps. Result? It's brighter across the spectrum but thankfully it didn't lose any bass fidelity so my thought is right like the datasheet suggest 22uF is enough

Let's see how fast your eyes will burn in from the blue light emitted by it (supposedly it has high emission within the unhealthy spectrum, which is the same for other current gen QD-OLEDs). Some folks complained about having issues while using them.
But yeah, good luck on burn in. I couldn't jump on OLED bandwagon mainly because of full time WFH which means around 6000 hours within 18 months of owning the current display.

my two Monitors are running 24/7 and i only turn them to 0% brightness over night. i will do the same with this one and i will not change anything in the settings besides checking for firmware updates.

Thats a ferrytale. the maximum of accurycy of a caliper (norm named above) is exactly 0,1mm = 1/10th mm. Not mor or not less. If you want to measure with an accuracy level up to 0,01mm you need a higher accuracy like a micrometer has.

please re-read what i said again.

Just read the post #21.634 to see, how others think about the given accuracy. ;)

I like the ones with a circular analogue gauge on, but the digital is quicker and don't really need fraction of a mm accuracy.

Vernier caliper whether digital or analogue are not as accurate as a micrometer, and one certainly doesn't need an engineering degree to use them.

I said a decent one, ever heared of Mitutoyo?..

Examples:

I used them everyday in the past..

i was going to mention them, as they are exactly the ones i used in the lab. But he seemed a bit too stubborn to listen to reason so i gave up lol.

Enjoy and still keep dreaming:

In germany/europe every caliper of every marque underlie to this norm!

here you go https://www.fwt-gmbh.de/en/digital-caliper-anti-magnetic-627
a digital caliper that follows your certification? and its not even that expensive. Similarly priced to the Mitutoyo P4-630 mentioned, which i had happened to use and verify the accuracy with gauge blocks. Please tell me you know what a gauge block is?

I've bought so many shiny things in the Uk over the last month, that I'll have to do a group photo when I return to BA. There are too many to list here...
Today was a JBL Tune 720 BT set of headphones, a Logitech keyboard G213 and a Russel Hobbs electric kettle at half price. At customs I will of course not be able to speak Spanish.

My bdie memory never shipped, then they cancelled the order. Booooo. So I found another kit and it should be here this weekend... if the seller is to be believed. This kit is 32GB DR, but probably wont clock as well as my 16GB SR bdie kit. We will see.

I did similar to Xonar PCI card many, many years ago. It was fun. Congrats on a successful upgrade.
