What are you playing?

Yup, that game is a lot of fun for sure and the art style still holds up imo.
Played and finished it ages ago when I've still had my GTX 950 so ye that wasn't recently.
i used to play it when i had hd 6850 :D

The game is buttery over here. 144 FPS out of combat, and 70-90 when it gets crowded. There are very rare hiccups but even they are too minor to worry about. Definitely part hardware...

Another part is just what most ARPGs have. Early game you are slow. Later you get faster, and then the game also feels more responsive. I've got some skill cooldowns to 0.28sec which is 3 attacks per second, and its a world of difference from the 0.50 base. Hunt for -% cooldown on all skill modifiers ;)

Enjoy, anyway, I think you'll like this :) The campaign missions, if you do them all, are pretty numerous. Story isn't all bad either. But its so long. I was level 55 or something when I was done with it all.
I'm not only talking about the displayed FPS, tho that has issues too.
What I'm mainly talking about is the weird 'stuttery' look and feel of the animations its like they are rendered at a different FPS than the rest of the game and whats displayed on screen. 'in my case locked 75 FPS to my refresh rate + smooth frametime's reported from MSI Afterburner yet the game just felt really off'
Noticed it like after a few mins of playing and it was an eyesore, googled it right after and there are multiple topics about this issue on more than 1 platform.
Took me like 1 hour of tinkering and messing around with the settings to somehow make it acceptable, its not a deal breaker but coming from D3/D4 with its buttery smooth look and feel this is very noticeable to me.
Btw its a game from 2018 so you shouldn't need a freaking 7800X3D and a 7900 XT to play it properly. 'that screams bad optimization to me more than anything' Meanwhile I'm playing D4 maxed out minus RT and I hardly ever drop a frame even when I push end game content with my chaotic end game build.

Well I will have ~1 month to finish the story and try out the end game content, hopefully that will be enough time for me. 'I've already bought D4's expansion so once thats out I'm going back:oops:'

Yeah I noticed that too. Its just the animation speed, which is off completely :P I'm just at a point where the animations are covered by numbers entirely, so whatever

Been playing Horizon: Forbidden West. It's a pretty decent game

Been dabbling with Expeditions a Snowrunner Game I still play Snowrunner between my “mains” ETS2 and ATS in VR
i mean it’s totally “familiar“ but they’ve messed with the control scheme and added more gear and specialized equipment per mission. You have binoculars and a drone to scout with so I’m juggling the controls and trying to forget my muscle memory from Snowrunner.
The game runs and looks great it’s made for my wheel Logi G Pro(TruForce) so the driving is still excellent and challenging. I’m playing via Gamepass but it’s free to play on Steam until Sept 9th

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet but

All well and good but you can’t start a new game. I’m stuck in some kinda limbo save from a free trial or demo..the internet was stumped last I checked…I could get past the 60fps cap and would welcome an offline experience IF I could start over…

Uninstalled it almost instantly after completing the first mission. Just to say impressions gained from outside sources were in line with the immense letdown. I'll leave it at saying their next [censored] a [DLC ridden PTW] game in pre-release has very low expectations. SR is at least fun and continues to be due to the modding elements and (avoiding untranslatable mess of large words) the sheer amount of [redacted on SEO site] directed towards it by elements that won't be named.

But not for the first one? This was the dickest move I've seen in a while what it comes to gaming industry.

Finished Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty.
And fuuuuu it was amazing.
I'll continue playing it for the different endings....

I finally found some time to play on my new Asus TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition laptop in between dashing around Europe before we return to Buenos Aires.
I'm impressed, although I haven't played anything more taxing on the system other than Rise Of The Tomb Raider, but that's fine because I'm a huge TR fan and those games have great replayability.
Having said that, I still prefer to play on my main PC!

This is one bullet. Sometimes chain lightning follows for about 10x this damage :D

I'm wondering for 7 levels long now if I can ever find something better than this lol.
Thunderbolt of Authority is stupidly good. The highest crit I've seen it do is 103K... it can one-hit bosses at level 80 that way; and it looks like the Thunderbolt of Authority shards are a seasonal item... get em fast!

The Eviscerator is my next experiment, I've already figured out it STILL keeps scaling off Physical damage bonuses and then converts it to Heat. So this is a pretty cool way to have an alternative damage type and a melee option :p The skillset is already powerful enough now without even modifying or socketing anything and with a full ranged damage bonus % setup... this should be good :)

Also... Psalm-Doctrines are great and max. socketing your gear is basically a must. The game throws so much stuff your way you can just keep experimenting and crafting/modifying. Its great, and the grind really rewarding that way.

I have to say, I'm slowly getting hooked now that I've fixed most of the performance issues and I've found a weapon type that I really like with my class, its like nah just +1 mission then I'm off to sleep. 'even forgot about playing Callisto Protocol last night cause of this:laugh:'

Today I've fired up Diablo 4 cause I've wanted to play with my oldest friend from the D2 days, apparently hes playing the exact same build as me 'Andariel Rogue' so we decided to go all out with the current highest tier run and ye its a total chaos like I can't even see a damn thing but we managed it just fine. 'and still the game was rock solid performance wise, maxed out with DLSS on Quality'

Btw you can't really take pics of this build in action, its just a LOT of arrows and poison all over the screen constantly so ye it will look like a blur on a pic.

It really pays off to just experiment with stuff. The game's not very hard, its easy to melt stuff at equal level, but survivability becomes the first hurdle more so than damage. Respeccing is easy but I would suggest you keep buying Mind-Resets at the vendor every time, because you need one per skill tree.

Started playing Super Crazy Rhythm Castle, the latest freebie from EGS. This is a series of rhythm games intertwined with arcade segments, which get progressively more difficult. It's both weird and funny, with gameplay that feels refreshingly unique. The wide selection of catchy indie songs should cater to many musical tastes. I'm going solo, but the game has a co-op feature for up to four people:

Think I'm getting the hang of this, although it becomes frustratingly hard after the first boss encounter. Maybe I should get a proper gaming keyboard to play it

A friend bought me Space Marine 2 so we can do co-op and Saber Interactive apparently hasn't heard of ultrawide monitors. Someone needs to hold their hand and walk them into 2024.

That is unfortunate. This Game is the definition of kinetic. The missions are nice an beefy and boss battles are not at the end. When a Game forces you to learn the moves from the get go a nice 35-45 minute Mission time run to be satisfied enough to put it down. Like Kingdoms of Amular this is basically a 3D Action RPG and not Action Game. Playing 40k Martyr before this makes me lament the Weapon choices but the gameplay is even better to me as a result. I am sure Ultrawide support will improve, this is number 1 in Global sales on Steam. It is actually above the Steam Deck in sales and that is currently 13% off for $373 Canadian. What I am sayign is that this Game is a Gold Mine for the Developers and Warhammer franchise. I look forward to DLC Campaigns with some trepidation but Warhammer has been pumping out Games like they want ot create Sierra as a Warhammer focused Gaming house. Even if you just play 40K Martyr, Deamon Hunters or Rogue Trader I pronise you will become a Warhammer nerd. The only reason I lost interest in Darktide was the sensitivity of the controls but Space Hulk was fun. Deamon Hunters has the best story to me but Rogue Traders can suck you right in. Especially when you build your party. Yep it is Friday the weather outside is spectacular, I am 4 DABS (How Hitler conquered Munich) in with soime deeply body moving reggea so when this track finished I am going to do a qucik session of 40k Martyr. Then I am going to load up City Skylines 2 (Gaming Cocaine for some) while I watch WEC Free Practice for Fuji 6 hours. The non factory Ferrari won COTA and that race was spectacular with more cars competing and finishing in top positions.

It's supposed to come out with ultra wide support as part of the Season One patch (someone tossed out Sep 20th as a date, but I didn't see it listed on the Steam page), but for it to not be there on launch when the format has existed for over a decade is just lazy or a major oversight.

I've also been playing Rouge Trader co-op with friends (don't get me started about how tacked on the co-op support is) and we tried Darktide for a time, but that gets old with how it tries to constantly force you into melee combat, so we dropped it. I've been considering giving Martyr a try when I have more time.

The only thing I will say about Martyr is if you liked Torchlight or Victor Vran (Action RPGs) this Game is that in controls. The Weapon variety in Martyr to me is second to none though. You will struggle to choose what to loadout if you go down that rabbit hole. One Rifle allowed me to spawn up to 4 duplicates (like raising skeletons in Torchlight) but another gave me completely different special effects and plasma pistols are fun if you are a ranged fighter. F me it even has dual wield.

Two rare feats in Forza Horizon 4 Eliminator this week. OK, one really really extra rare. So much so I passed over a gifted win against the fastest possible car in order to pass it to them. M-B Unimog is by some stretch the hardest vehicle to attain. All of the other hard to come by vehicles I've had multiple times and even won proper to head-to-head races in.

These are not the drive thrus you're looking for. Move along...

Still DiRT4, soon I've done all the rallycross races. I'll play something from a different genre when I've played through all the events on the career mode.
