Today's NV driver release is a very minor
How do you know it's minor and more importantly how exactly do you think this works, have you ever worked on software in this vein ? I have, software updates contain far, far more bug fixes compared to what is being listed and there is always a massive backlog of unresolved issues that don't ever get mentioned. Unless of course, you believe that Nvidia, a mega corporation with who knows how many millions of users pays it's developers to fix 2-3 bugs with every update and everything is actually running flawlessly because there isn't that much being listed in the changelog.

A relevant industry I worked in is game development, when you look at patch notes and you see 5, 10, 15 things being mentioned I can assure you there are probably dozens if not hundreds of issues that have been resolved and just as many that haven't.

The games that AMD added tailored support for with today's release have been supported by Nvidia for a few weeks now. Stalker 2 support, for example, was added in the November 12 driver release, 8 days before the game released.
And how relevant do you think this is, I have been playing Stalker since release and I updated the driver today, the game runs about the same and I haven't experienced any issues with it all this time. It's a UE5 game, a dime a dozen.

I think this is a really bad sign. AMD software teams work less, and the release schedule is hurt badly. Previously, we had seen three or four releases PER MONTH !, now it is 2 months with zero releases.
Maybe means that the graphics division of the company has no money for salaries, and its budget is close to zero now?
"Previously" was literally before October they were releasing several ones a month, now you wait a month and a half and and they are working less with no budget and layoffs, talk about wetting the bed man

As it happened I was thinking the same, not seeing an Nov release, no issues and the Adrenalin CP opening up upon wake was fixed for me a couple of drivers back, high vRAM clocks are back for me however and usually sit between 900-1900mhz wwhich means I'm using 25w on the desktop/browsing and GPU is sitting at 50c most of the time
Today's NV driver release is a very minor release adding game-ready support for upcoming releases like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The games that AMD added tailored support for with today's release have been supported by Nvidia for a few weeks now. Stalker 2 support, for example, was added in the November 12 driver release, 8 days before the game released.
So what? Go post in an Nvidia driver thread or create one so you can say how much better they are than AMD one's, we hear the same spiel in every single AMD/NV threads, honestly it's tiring, ok AMD is shit, their drivers are shit, their feature set is shit, we get the point, if I could be arsed I would go and have a look at a few Nvidia recently released drivers and point out how many bug fixes and issues they have included, I'm not that sad to constantly have to bash them though and just go about my business with my HW and be happy, seems some people can't do that unless they are trashing other peoples choices or the "other team" the mental capacity of some people on this forum is astounding

You said it yourself... It's ludicrous to think there are no open issues (there always are), unless, that is, nothing major has been changed for some time. It's an end of year release, engineers are about to head out for the holidays. It's good that the list of currently open issues amounts to 0. Utility of drivers which support games is debatable, but those tend to cover known edge cases or certain persistent problems. It's a nice to have.

I'm answering his question, it's a post made in good faith. I'm not bashing anyone, although one can argue that it does fall out of the scope of the thread. Happy to take it elsewhere, though.

This has happened many times before; including during blockbuster game launch seasons. In this particular instance, the release of 24.11.1 was ultimately cancelled due to many critical outstanding issues as you can see in the release notes, which covers most of what I know. Some of which don't quite seem to be considered resolved but you should upgrade to it.

Released today hehehe.

Yeah, it's the December 24.12.1 driver. The things that were going to be released in 24.11.1 were rolled up into this, so it skipped a month. It's a pretty high quality one in the works for a long time. I hope you guys have a great time with it. Also, bear in mind I wasn't the one to bring up the green team at all in the thread.

@Vya Domus if you wish to continue any of the NV related conversation let's take a leave from this thread :toast:

Lol ok sure.
I give up with him. It is obvious TPU has no problem with people coming onto Amd threads to bash Nvidia. The worst is they make it seem like people that defend the cards they are actually using are the bad guy in this.

I wasn't about to engage with you - nothing good ever comes out of it - but please do not accuse me of things I have not done. I was having a semi-offtopic conversation with Vya regarding a question that he asked of me, we disagreed and it has not been a bitter exchange. If you dislike me that much, place me on ignore. I should have placed you on ignore some time ago myself. Any further inquiries - go on my DMs. I will not reply to this subject on this thread anymore, only regarding the original topic.

I mean, as much as Dro usually criticizes Radeon, this time he only brought the changelog and mentioned the bugs AMD itself admits existing. That and the mention of 24.11.1 not being released due to issues on its development, which if I'm correct about no one can openly talk about further than "shit happened".
You may not have encountered such bugs with your XT, nor do I with my XTX. But if AMD admits to their existence, I'll take their words over my experience any day.

I, however, am still gladly on 24.9.1 as nothing the newer drivers brought are of use for me. Not the support for games I don't have, not the improved support on applications I don't use.

Good god!
New drivers these days are like lollipops not given to 5y old children or what?

They come when they come… why all the hysteria about AMD skipping a month?
Pardon me but it sounds juvenile to me really.
Did they sign a contract or even said anywhere that monthly driver releases is a thing?

Are you seriously under the impression there is literally just one single active issue users have with their drivers.

I am asking again, why are there driver updates, is it placebo ?
One reason is Vulkan/OpenGL/DX are a moving target. You basically get the API changing with time and vendors add support retroactively. That's hardly the only reason, but for future facing games it can matter.

Most of the bugs listed in this release are AI program/ML related so I can easily see 99% of users here missing them.

I give up with him. It is obvious TPU has no problem with people coming onto Amd threads to bash Nvidia. The worst is they make it seem like people that defend the cards they are actually using are the bad guy in this.
I guess it's bound to happen when Nvidia users are the overwhelming majority, TPU staff are all Nvidia users, with TPU being sponsored by PNY. I replied to someone in a news thread, my post got deleted while their multiple posts of off topic bashing didn't. I've been here long enough to notice something is going on.
On the topic though I don't understand why not having a new driver for a month is a bad thing, if the driver and all your games work there isn't any need to worry about the latest driver.

The thing is it almost exactly the same people that come onto AMD threads and wax negative. I hear you on the ban. I was removed from the 8800XT thread because I have had "A history with the user". Of course that user was an ultra Intel/Nvidia person talking about how bad AMD was at Gaming. I give up on social media as the narrative has more power than the truth today so the total non issue of a month being missed is generally 3 pages long because it seems TPU are indeed very pro Nvidia. I remember the post when the entire staff got 4000 series cards from PNY. It is just like how most reviewers of hardware review the exact same kit. The best for me was when Steve from Hardware Unboxed did a positive review of an AMD card and went Fly fishing in the Indian Ocean. Nvidia had him cut his trips short because they threatened to stop supporting their channel. Before that he used to call RT a gimmick but RT soon became the defining factor in what makes a GPU worth purchasing. That has led to something as mundane as a driver update being missed for a month mushroom into FBI theories on how AMD is on it's last legs because their market share is so weak. Which leads to the question of if you have already disregarded the card why go on about it in every single AMD post.

It is tiresome when a person thread craps, it is not warranted, user needs a timeout from this

I haven't thread crapped... nor have I even come here to speak bad of AMD or any user in particular. If anything I've shown a lot of respect. I don't appreciate the personal attacks, thank you.

Indeed, its always the same people, I kinda wonder do they even use their graphics cards for games or do they just go bash on AMD topics all day. It gets really tiring when its always the same people with the same selective bias saying drivers are bad, or the next gen Nvidia card will be better anyway.
I didn't get thread banned, just what essentially was a warning telling me not to post in the thread again. I'm starting to think rumors like those are started to further push the mindshare against AMD when the rumors usually being made on Radeon cards are unrealistic so the reviewers can later say AMD promised all of this but we didn't get a card that beats the Nvidia flagship. I remember when HW Unboxed quickly changed their stance on RT and Nvidia in general after they nearly got blocked from receiving review cards, I rarely watched their videos after that as I want reviewers to be honest and not pressured by corporations to give positive press just because they got free hardware.
I'd expect a driver update to be something few would care about, but since AMD announced they're focusing on midrange gpu's, some are acting like AMD is going out of business if they don't make a high end card.
