okay i know now why you tested in 1080p and that its true that it will hammer the CPU and will be a CPU bottleneck but thats STILL absolutely dumb because you dont want that on your setjup you wanted it to be cranked up and enjoy it,
asside from that, ive used most CPUs from 2010 to 2022 and going back and forth between my 7820X and 10940x i notice the difference without needing to run a benchmark otherwise it would e a depressing upgrade if you cna only determain from a benchmark if the pc is nicer now then your old one
well now use a R7 7700X for example with 32gigs where a LOT of ppl would say that its a way better machine then yours becasue they saw a benchmark chart, really i mean thats how low we have become
its not a bubble, i told manny ppl with there i7 4790k that there 3080 is jack crap for cyberpunk or anything bejoynd 2020 and they play it and say its fine and i said: then you dont know what fine and smooth is bro,
Him: well my GPU is 100% used so more CPU wont help me
ME: Im sure you think so, you would be wrong.
HIM: But how do you know??
ME: Because ive used them ALL, and you havent and you would be wrong.
HIM: But the Benchmark Graphs
ME: Theres more to a PC then a Benchmark or FPS Count
HIM:
that guy couldnt even ^^
was funny to see
annother good one:
Ive upgraded from 32 to 64gigs of RAM and it wasnt untill then that i realised warzone wasnt smooth
now im asking you Zyll how do you benchmark that or do you even call him stupid because whatever?
do me a favor and turn off 10 cores of your 7940x and not just benchmark PLAY THE GAME, then come back and tell me i was wrong
that WAS MY point to say its not the lower half of the 2010s anymore, stuff changed in 10 years, so does CPU tech in general and the need for more cores, i told that to ppl in 2012 and here we are with 24 cores on the mainsteam
an I9 14900k/R9 7950X are gaming CUZ straight up, if you wanna do work you get a threadripper or X299, thats whats there for true stuff u know and you got one so STFU
imma tell you if you disable 10 cores on it and then play something that dosent relie on IPC (which is most of the new games today) then you wont have any fun but the benchmark chart would still look good interms of FPS
YOU FINALLY GETTN THAT?
what im fine with your efforts there, did i ever complain about that you didnt do any work o there in terms of theoretical performane numbers and all that testing? nope i just said that THEN using that machine dosent coralate to what the benchmark is saying
there was this time ive played on a fireends 5800X3D and 3090 before at 4k in new shines and it was awfull, told ihm to get a 5950x and he did actually cuz money wasnt an issue obviously when that dude just bought a 3090 and then he called me and said, dman youre right its a lot nicer now, and i asked him what the FPS was? and hes like, ehm well its the same
and i was like AHA!!! told you bro, this just all nonsense (to a sertain extend of course)
conclusion:
1. More cores smoothout the imerfections of the gameplay including inputlag and loading times (provided you got a good ssd too but you do have a gen 4 premium drive on an i9 hopefully)
2. More Ram does make your PC nicer to use in sence of everythign can be stored and cached on the ram and you never run out of it makes everyhtign a bit more snappy
3. Higher Resolution dosent result in lower CPU usage there for less CPU bottleneck
4. 1080p with stupid high framerate is a waste of a premium card like a 4080 or something
because you gotta be to get thoes high framerate shown in various videos of f.e Gamers Nexus
5. if youre playing a game that uses 6 cores on an 8 core chip, then the minute ANYTHING else wants to do something there are free resurces idly waiting for something to do
if you do that on a 6 core u might have her FPS then the older higher CC chip but worse overall feel because the CPU is simply overwhelmed
and getting that for the people to understand is a verya hard job im gladly signed for it even tho its annoying sometimes
im not saying youre full of crap or youre wrong but i want you to understand that what you do here is what we have done in 2014, no kiddn bro, no cap
but 20154 hardware/software was MIIIILLEES different to today so no wonder why different results havent come up yet so no wonder why results look the same
hey, once again props for you to keep up with me and discuss
Question of the Day (from a Video)
My husband this week: Why cant i play thoes two games at the same time without stuttering? ME: Darling your PC has only 8 cores.
yes i also sometimes have more then one gaming running, this 2024 ppl
get some moooar cores xD
you got THE system Zyll, dont benchmark it, if i was your 7940x i would jump outta the socket^_^
youre the benchmark, if your at a poijnt where u got everything open up what you do and and u cant do anything more to slow the system down, then you reached the point of where you are in love of your system, if you beleave theres a benchmark for that then idk, cant help ya with that hehe ;D
obivously an i9 is alwas better then an R5, at least within the same generation you PAID more
a 64core TR would be dumb to buy for gaming, yes but 14, heel no, the Division 2 would like a word, that scales so nicely with more cores to smooth shizzy out in very intense battles
when ive experienced that the first time, i snapped in my head, it made click cuz up to that point i still benchamrked ffrom time to time and had the FPS counter up when playing, now i have it off and im way less distracted by doing so
well its the fastest cpu on earth the 9800x3d,
YAP,
in 1080p with a 4090 which is so bad of an idea that i shoudl call the emergency ^^
the minute you do some more then gaming it will be catastrophic (very specific usecase CPU)
the minute you do 1440p or even 4k, most of that gap goes away and it be less smoother, ive sat in front of such machine (7800x3d)
the minute you DONT have a 4090 you also could have gottn thwe non X3d because it would berform exactly the same then
and besides that ive played the MW3 warzone on my 10940x before and oh boy was it destorying the 78300x3d hehe
4k ultrawide cuz 16:9 are way too old and less immersive (personal opinion here now^^ ) it was doing 350 fps at its highest and about 300 pretty much all the time and man was it so smooth i actually enjoyed playing it for once ^^ aso nope i would take a 14900k over a 9800x3d all day long because ive used both before not my own PCs but from friends when building them for customers (which i didnt liked to
and lemme tell you what, you have a better machine then anyone with a 9800x3d, they at 1080p bro
i rather get a PS5 cuz that ill do 1440p@120 fps and i dont have to build and pay quadrouple the price of a PS5 just to play at 1080p to get thoes high FPS but then again you still at 8 cores, most limiting factor here
the 9800x3d isnt the best gamign cpu bro, would you pls pass what youre smoking, it must be good stuff
did you used one before too to say this vs your 7940x? maybe im in love with it how manny ive heard complaiyn bout crappy MT perforamnce on a 5800X3D despite higher res? a LOT
and yeah u buy an X3D for gamign but then agian in todays world there isnt that much difference between console and PC gamign in terms of performance or even skil lthese days what they have a is a glorified luxury console
what you have Zyll is a PC, a workhorse that can do ANYTHING you want, pretty much everything at the same time, a 9800x3d would be very soon completely overwhelmed cuz its only meant for gaming which sucks, ppl should do more then just game on there pcs, then they wouldnt say its the fastest CPU in the world,, even if so, i take smoother over faster
cuz if i want more microstutter and hitches i just go back to my 7820x which is only 8 cores because its ,,fine'' and wont need a 7940X
Zyll, keep ya 7940x and laugh over ppl who buy a 9800X3D because all they do is stupid gamign when they could just get a better gamign experience by buying a PS5, i mean for real now, they gotta be a 1080p for thoes high FPS and the Ps5 is super smooth at 120 while having 1440p
i mena really they buy a 400+$ CPU jsut to play at 1080p and then a 1500$+ card to play at 1080p? its 2025 almost and 8 cores, offf im dying over here bro
soon get the 10980xe and put my 10940x into the second pc cuz my 7820x suckz ballz ^_^
but how would i knew if i didnt tried the 10940x huh? right YOU WONT!
