So does anyone know how to actually play Fallout New Vegas today? Steam version is buggy as shit, and what modding (the commong bugfixes and whatever) I've done didn't help. And I will under no circumstance do the commonly suggested Viva Las Vegas thing, because it's messing to much with the game, I want to play as close to vanilla as possible. What is really infuriating is that I have played through the game and the DLC before and I genuinely can't remember having a single major bug. I don't have that version any more though, because I own the game on Steam and Gog (which is equally buggy) I thought I wouldn't need it but here we are.

Have a look at this-

don't know if you have already seen these though

The Talos Principle.
No DLSS, no FSR, no RT, none of that modern crap, just puzzles, puzzles and more puzzles. And it runs and looks great at 3440 UW on a 6500 XT (I tested it because why not). :)

It is a blend of puzzles and philosophy. The puzzles are more of a logical nature. Kind of like Portal... without portals. :)

Tomb Raider III was always a bitch to play at times and it's easy to get lost in many of its levels, especially in Nevada (Area 51 and the prison), but very rewarding when you finally make it through.
I'm now in South Sea Islands which has been remastered beautifully, with Antarctica and London to come. London in particular is known to be challenging, so the odd trip to Stella's site is not out of the question, cough...

IIRC, I would take a long time finding stuff in the first Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider II! Sadly, I never played the PC version! But, I got to have fun on an early PlayStation! :peace:

I never got that far in CP2077, because I have been just benchmarking, to see what settings I should use. So far, my Arc A770 has lower-high FPS, but better frametimes than my Radeon RX 6750 XT.
Feels smoother on my Arc A770.

Had a fancy and is actually playing Rouge Legacy 2. I didn't like it when it came out (because it wasn't the first game) and now, some hours in, I still think the first game is superior. For one thing RL2 is upbeat. The music at the castle is upbeat. The characters you play are all smiling, always. And it feels extremely wrong. I also don't really like the cartoony look, even though I know that is probably their best option. The gameplay is tight of course, but I also find it not quite as precise as in the first one, for some reason.

I had never played this yet. But dammnnnnn this is sweet. Its also nice I have a game talking to me in native language for once. At least with this faction... :D

The historical flavor texts are a real treat too
Ultrawide works fine

Worth getting for 6 eur on Steam atm.

It was a good game for its time (if you could get past the bugs). Not the best Total War game, that is Shogun 2 or the most nostalgic "modern" Total War, that is Rome Total War. But Empire was ambitious and with mods, it is a decent play especially at that low price.

But I have moved on from Total War games to Paradox games and I can't look back. Hearts of Iron 4 and Crusaders Kings 3 dominate the field.

Anybody on "Ninja Gaiden 2 Black" ?.. i'm impressed by it's 80 GB size and woulkd like to know about it :)

It's a full remake looks and feels much better has an ok RT implementation about a 15% hit on a 4090 performance wise and is not a remake of the trash Sigma version. The steam version is better than the Gamepass version.... No DLSS/DLAA on gamepass. It's heavy at 4k but not bad at 1440p UW.

Really enjoying it took me maybe 5m and it felt like 2008 all over again in a good way.

Third time's the charm, I hope I don't lose my save file this time.

Finishing up my achievement hunting round of Amnesia: The Bunker.
After 5 failed attempts at speedrunning it ("Toot sweet" achievement), which always failed due to very unlucky RNG, I've finally learned enough to start the final playthrough on ShellShock difficulty.
The game feels very different. Came up to be much shorter than I expected, especially comparing to Rebirth, but at the same time it's more like Frictional's classic games like first Amnesia, or Penumbra series - no cinematic graphics, no overburdening story, just the gameplay. You explore everything on your own, you discover the story behind events and characters without handholding and exposition, which is exactly what I like.

The Talos Principle.
No DLSS, no FSR, no RT, none of that modern crap, just puzzles, puzzles and more puzzles. And it runs and looks great at 3440 UW on a 6500 XT (I tested it because why not). :)
Wait until you start Talos Principle 2 - you'll have all of that stuff and some more, thanks to UE5 :nutkick:
Though, the game is still excellent.

With Cyberpunk 2077 with Arc, XeSS is the best I saw of the 3, including when I tested FSR 2x after testing FSR 3x.

The highest FPS is with XeSS.

People with Arc, can save themselves from a headache, by using XeSS on auto-mode in Cyberpunk 2077.

failed due to very unlucky RNG
Reminds me of the phenomenon that happens with unstable packet flow in Halo! (including, but not limited to packet loss)
Sometimes, I see Halo act like an RNG! LOL!

Yeah I've totally removed Paradox from my radar over time because they completely nuked Stellaris' fun into the ground at this point. Too many changes. Too many nonsense DLCs. Its just not fun starting up games that need to be relearned every time, or that constantly keep asking for money. Comparatively, I can deal with TW Warhammer DLCs, because there, the game isn't changed alongside it constantly. They just slot new stuff into what's already there, with varying success I might add, but ok.

Still, might pick up something that's actually really finished from them. Got any tips? Are the two titles mentioned done?
