Every one of those stories is pathetic BS that exists merely to provide a thin veneer of justification for the gameplay, which is:
- open-world
- drive vehicles
- shoot guns
I mean, those are game mechanics, there's lots of games that do this. Doesnt make them bad games, just means you are not a fan of open world action games. Which is fine, we all have preferences.
- make fun of American societal tropes because Americans think that is edgy and cool
A healthy culture and society can make fun of itself and poke at its own social issues.
- black characters say the N-word excessively because Americans think that is edgy and cool
You've never hung out in a majority black area in the USA, have you? It's not because it's "edgy and cool", its an accurate representation of conversation, especially for low income neighborhoods and gangster/criminal types, which is what GTA depicts. If they didnt do that, they'd be accused of sanitizing the criminal element of a game focused on committing felonies faster then you can count them. Criminals are not well known for eloquent speech or broad grammar.
To me it's like the complaining over mean words from trash talkers in Call of Duty, a game about *checks notes* brutally gunning down an entire small nations worth of people for fun. It just doesnt make sense to me to complain about it.
