Having a hard time finding my footing after Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Tried Superliminal but it really does feel like a low rent Portal in its presentation and while the puzzles are fun they're also a bit too trippy to try and play before bed.

Also fired up Borderlands 2 and it's just too looter shooter for me, which is a shame because the art style and world look incredible, but the narrative so far is just lame. I'll stick with it for a bit longer and see if the game opens up a bit but it's not grabbing me at all at the moment.

I have Halo Reach and Halo 4 installed so I'll fire those up at some point, but I've never played them before and Halo 1-3 were heavily carried by nostalgia on my recent play through.

Also have an aborted run of Dragons Dogma installed. I was having a good time with it but there just isn't enough narrative there to keep me engaged with the game. Might try and pick it up again as well.

Benchmark Scores bench ? no time to lose with bench ! :)
Back to some old classic :
Just finished Sonic the Hedgehog (Megadrive Mini).
A blast from the past, for sure.
My skillz aren't as good as they were back then.
I didn't remember it was hard / unfair near the end.
First levels are easy, but you have to move very carefully at the end.
Some "traps" are a bit sadistic, as you sure fall in the first time !
It was cool to swim a bit in this ocean of nostalgia :)

The beginning of a lengend, everything is perfect in the Green Hill Zone, graphics, music, gameplay ...

I didn't bother to grab all the Chaos Emeralds. It was really impressive back then compare to 8bits consoles and even PC

Ah, Labyrinth Zone, not the better idea of the game, but every platformers should have an underwater level, no ?

The last time I played on my Genesis before it was stolen, I went further than ever and ended in Scrap Brain Zone before the Genesis crashed. That day I was playing with inspiration.

There be dragons in Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels, which is absolutely massive and mind bogglingly dizzy making at times.
In order to drive any class of car, you now have to qualify, which adds a bit of zest to proceedings.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

I had the original of the first title in the series on the PlayStation and beat it back then, but I didn't 100% it. I still didn't... because I refuse to do the entirety of those flying levels in one go! So here's 100% minus that... Close enough?

Lofty Castle was always my favorite level and it looks great here (well, so does everything). I love the ethereal colors, its setting in the sky is great and it adds challenge while still not being overly difficult, the enemies are fun(ny), the few secrets are fun to find, and come to think of it, I think I might have a thing for high fantasy castles in a whimsical style? Hmm...

I played the original of the second back then, but definitely not thoroughly (a friend had it). I've started that now so I get to see what the whole game is like. It's definitely different from the first. Not in a bad way.

I never played the third so I'm not sure what it's like.

Criticizing BL for doing what defines it is a hot take. Story was never the franchise's strong suit.
BL2 had the strongest story in terms of narrative. Its not amazing, but its definitely carried hard by its villain who is pretty compelling. BL1 hardly had a story, and BL3 tried the same ideas as BL2 without realizing that the story of BL2 wasnt really all that great in the first place.

BL2 narrative is like a 7.5/10 for me, most of which comes from its villain. BL3 is a 6, because I like the idea of the first vaulthunter & the backstory of the calypso twins (but it falls apart at literally everything else, especially stuff like (warning; spoilers)
killing off fan favorite characters for shock value. Rolands death was kind of shock value to be fair, but it was the right kind of shock value. Maya's death failed to recapture that, and its pretty obvious she was gonna be killed off anyway far before her actual death.
BL1 is like a 1 because its god awful. Knoxx and the Claptrap DLC are actually sort of compelling but they're hardly part of the original narrative, so they get a 5 each.

There be dragons in Forza Horizon 5

Not sure if dragons are the cause.
Uninstalled FH4 + FH5 today, again. Even just having them installed has been a consistent source of instability and Windows Errors. Immediately stable again on first reboot.

Returned to The Dragon of Dojima (aka playthrough is up to Yakuza 3) saga to continue scowling.

-I don't think so. The game is more like a slot machine than and actual game, which is an issue. I like me a good ARPG like anyone, but a game has to have some balance and BL2 is just way off in RNJesus territory.

Like I said, I'll work the slots a bit longer to see if the game finds any legs, but the gunplay is sort of lame, the movement is heavy and lame, it sort of feels like the F2P MMO that wasn't right now.

I think people liked it because it was sort of newish and looked pretty at the time, but it hasn't aged well as it's the progenitor of the GAAS BS has trashed so much of the industry.

I think the game just isn't for you man.. I'm just gonna be perfectly honest. You clearly don't like it because its a looter shooter. Which is literally the whole point. Its definitely more looter shooter than something like destiny too, I'll add.

Fair warning, the first two difficulties (normal and TVHM) don't really require too much grinding in terms of loot. You can get past most obstacles with subpar gear, its UVHM and beyond that get aids with the grinding required, and that's where most people stop playing (rightfully so)

Games old. If you wanted something with better gun-play and movement, BL3 exists, which improves on both of those things

Now THATS a hot-take. I'd still disagree, objectively speaking the game isn't amazing but its aged fine. Its not like BL1 where the game aged horribly and isn't really worth going back too to the point where the 'remastered' version is more worth playing despite its memory leak issue.

Also, BL2 definitely didnt start that trend. It just happens to teeter on the line of it, but thats definitely not what they were intending. You kinda come off as if you already went into this game expecting not to like it.

-Fair, I've had a bunch of false starts on BL1 because it was more looter than shooter, guess that carries forward into BL2.

Fired up Halo Reach and damn, it's a really good game. Like a parting goodbye to to Halo series by Bungie, basically a remix of the best of the best of Halo 1-ODST.

Just having them installed caused you problems?

And just uninstalling the freshly downloaded files immediately fixed them.

Any contributing factor you might name (Special K, any mod or patched file for any game or software) is nonexistent and everything else (GPU driver, W11 settings, running exe as Admin) has been explored for months by this point. Current assessment being mobo is on the high end of severity among large numbers reporting serious issues.

Plenty of functioning games in my backlog to explore. Going to do a final push towards NG+ in a few titles side missions got repetitive in to start.

Monster Hunter Wilds... is not that i was expecting more compare to World, this one just fell short in almost every aspect.

they focused so much in the story, that they lock you from doing anything else. No exploration, no collecting/gathering/harvesting, no discovery.
The multiplayer option is a pain.
Theres no challenging monsters, the apex monsters are a joke not a real menace.

Maps/regions ?? lazy just plain laziness

the desert area and the forest are the only decent ones. The other ones lack of life and interaction, plain boring and dull.

The main point of Monster Hunter is the grind for materials so you can build a better weapon, better equipment, jewels, charms.
THERES NO FREAKING GRIND! you basically can have all the materials in 1 run! and even though for what reason?
Monster are EASY!! they left the carting palicos without work.

Performance???? oh boy that the freaking #1 offender here!!! not even with my system dlss on i can play at 60 fps lock.
I dont want to imagine people with lower systems.

Maybe is just me ranting about something that i love and wanted to see more, but i just tell myself.
They didn't need to reinvent the wheel, MHWorld was a success, Iceborne was great. Why deviate so far from that formula.
Did they try to target the main audience?, the ones that you need to win the game for them?, the toddlers? ??

Dark Souls has a motto right? " YOU DIED"
you know for sure you will die a hundred times in that game

Monster Hunter motto is " you will cart" doesnt matter what weapon or armor you have " YOU!! WILL !!! CART!!!!
and some crazy ass cats are gonna take your beaten body back to camp where you need to prepare yourself again if you want to win that fight.
gather items, consider changing equipment cuz att, def, status effect, element dmg etc.
Nothing of that is needed it, nothing.

There are many more negatives points about the game that i cant recall rn while im writing because the more i try to put together
the flaws of the game the more im pissed.
Im not enjoying the game at Monster Hunter Game level, im just passing through.

Monster Hunter Wilds is just Dull.

my honest opinion, i started since ps2 Monster Hunter and loved every piece of the series.
they dropped the ball and the story fells like a Resident Evil story

The game is 60gb, HRes-Tex-Pack dlc is 70gb, i think it's for pure 4k+, try removing it for good perfs.
dlc/re_dlc_stm_3308900.pakpak148 B
dlc/re_dlc_stm_3308900.pak.sub_000.pakpak70.15 GiB

I had to use trainer in world, a few times, it's verry difficult, and i didn't even captured one monster, i'm too bad but World is perfect game, i won't need try newer/est.

Unpopular opinion.

I'm playing Space Marine II. Not for much longer. It's guff.

I played the tabletop game decades ago, so I know the lore to a point. But this game is just pants.
