TBF, intentionally disabling a warning signal - even a malfunctioning one - probably comes with a lot of liability nobody is willing to take on. After all, it "failed safe" for passing vessels.

Ships can actively avoid the shore and the rocks near them. People can not avoid intense sounds which can potentially damage their hearing. They need to pull the plug until it's fixed.

I managed to grab mine for £570, but I agree. For over £650-700, the XTX is a better buy, for the extra VRAM, if nothing else.

Yeah, what is a "British" accent? London / Cockney? South? Yorkshire? Midlands / Brummie / Scouse? Scottish perhaps?

The UK has a huge variety of accents, it's one of those things that makes it great, imo.

After watching British youtubers I'd say go for someone in or near Dorset. People other than Brits such as Americans and Canadians can understand what they're saying when they talk.

I feel sorry for North Americans sometimes because English is my THIRD language (Russian first; Ukrainian second) and I still understand almost every British and US accent. Like, where's the difficulty?

Brits from up north are barely legible / understandable for Americans. They might as well be speaking Chinese. I can understand the swear words ... and they love to swear but that's about it. Speaking of Russia, I used to work on Sakhalin Island in the oil fields and like an idiot I married a Belarusian.

I learned a little Russian from her and when I was in working Russia. About the only people that speak Belarusian are the ones from small villages. What's interesting is Belarusian and Ukrainian are more similar to Old Church Slavonic (original Rus) than is the Russian language.

I'm not as successful with my pranks (I live in Saint Petersburg, allegedly the most likely location in Russia to find a person who speaks some foreign language but 99 times outta 100 when I reach out to someone in English they have interrogation marks for eyes and don't even engage in the conversation)

I've never been to St. Petersburg but I've always wanted to visit, especially the White Palace. The closest I got to there was Vitebsk (Belarus) and Smolensk.The Smolensk trip got me kicked out of Russia and sent back to Belarus after paying a load of money to your corrupt police. Less than a week later I was sneaking into Ukraine with a band we met in Minsk. Four straight days in Western Ukraine living off of tequila, shrooms and ecstasy.

Literally the worst people in the whole country lmao. NEVER HAVE ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM.

If you land in Saint P and call me for a tour I don't mind being a company (especially if it involves a lot of walking) but don't expect me to be any reasonable of a guide because I just everyman every single day, visiting a whole lot of nothing. I don't even remember how this White Palace looks. Will be as lost as you, if not more lost.
