Except that's not how it works. Suppliers impacted by these tariffs still want to keep doing business with the USA as it's their largest market, so instead of doing this:not everyone is in the US, in fact most of the world isn't, the tariffs wont affect the majority of us and by extension AMD that much
USA price: $1.25
Everywhere else price: $1.00
they spread the hike over the price worldwide so it ends up as:
USA price: $1.15
Everywhere else price: $1.15
Now their largest market is unhappy, but not as unhappy as it would be if it had to pay that extra 10 cents, and as a side effect everyone else is screwed too. That's what you get when an economically illiterate orange chimp is allowed to make decisions based on the smell of its farts.
