The 7900XTX was not selling at this level.

I can't believe that many people line up to buy a relaunch 4070 Ti Super at 80usd less and worse featureset

Because it's not 80 USD less, and the only thing it's missing is CUDA, which not many people care about.

Because they dont want to pay into the Nvidia monopoly? Not that confusing. I know I've been less then impressed with nvidia driver quality the last couple years.

Because it's not 80 USD less, and the only thing it's missing is CUDA, which not many people care about.
It also significantly improved RT performance and FINALLY fixed their encoders, so there's more sales points nVidia lost.

Not to mention, those people are queuing up for the launch which was an insane deal. I got my card for £570 when the 5070 Ti was already selling way above 800. So much for "6% slower".

Significantly improved RT, but still slower than 4070Ti Super
FSR4 is leagues ahead of FSR3, but still worse than DLSS4
PT performance is nowhere near useable yet
Ray Reconstruction not available yet
FSR4 SuperRes and FSR Frame Gen game support is nowhere near DLSS4 level of support

If people don't care about any of those above features, might as well grab a 7900XT with 4GB more VRAM

Single digit percentages.
FSR4 is leagues ahead of FSR3, but still worse than DLSS4
FSR4 is pretty close, not perfect, but it's not that big of a gap. And it is software, that can improve over time.
PT performance is nowhere near useable yet
Ray Reconstruction not available yet
For the 2 games where that is a game breaker, I'm sure we'll manage without them.
FSR4 SuperRes and FSR Frame Gen game support is nowhere near DLSS4 level of support
I dont know many who care that much about frame gen. And just like FSR4, that is software which will improve with time.
If people don't care about any of those above features, might as well grab a 7900XT with 4GB more VRAM
And pay obscene prices for what little stock is left? If you're going to pay that much just grab a 5080 and let the world know you like to waste money.

Yes I like to waste money, like paying a mere 10% more for a product that came out a whole year earlier and still is better .

But I like your idea that people are sick of Nvidia monopoly and willing to support the underdog, afterall I would like to see new technologies being developed out of competition

Come on, you are being too literal here, you know what he was saying is that "AMD might regret that it did not choose to develop that 9080 product", not "the actual cancellation of a product".
I interpreted that poster's sentence to mean what the words in said sentence mean, you interpreted them to mean something else entirely. Or to be blunt, you arbitrarily made s**t up so that you could call me out for not arbitrarily making s**t up.

It's been a while since I've encountered your specific type of insanity, and it's no more pleasant than the previous encounter.

AMD gave us an actual number. Nvidia has not. Guess which one I trust more?
To be honest, I believe none! So much stays behind the curtain...

Lol. The only thing is missing, is the Blackwell stock! Be it there, these infinite queues of desperate menchildren, would rather stay in line for the different products... you've guessed- nVidia RTX 5070/"Tie", and even 5080-5090 ones.

NAVI 41/42/44 were definitely real.
Navi 44 is real. It'll be called the 9060 (XT) and it's coming soon. What about Navi 41 and 42? Where are they, how are they real?

This is a mid range card. You aren't using PT on this, nor on the 4070 ti super.

Wonder if Lisa Su is rethinking the cancellation of a "9080XT"? Looks like this architecture has hit a sweet spot.

How easy would this be to do? I don't know much about chip production but I would assume changing production on a whim would be mighty complex. And I expect all of AMD's resources are now going to UDNA?

Yeah, it's not just like adding more shaders and calling it a day as some people think. They'd have to design a completely new chip with new command processor(s), memory controller, cache, etc. not to mention production with UV stencils, testing, liaising with TSMC and AIBs, etc. I'm sure development on UDNA is in full swing by now. More work on another RDNA 4 chip would only divert away precious resource and working hours.

Like @Assimilator said, Navi 41 didn't get cancelled because it was never in the plan to begin with.

Bingo. AMD has a plan to compete in the high-end with UDNA, and not competing in the high-end with RDNA4 is part of that plan. They've also identified, correctly, that high-end products make headlines but mainstream products move units. Obviously they couldn't anticipate NVIDIA's botching of the 5000-series launch that took RDNA4's own launch from "successful" to "wildly successful", but that doesn't mean AMD should all of a sudden throw out their plan and chase an arbitrary high-end product that probably won't even sell enough units to recoup its development resources.

The 9070 XT is roughly 3 to 5% slower than a 5070Ti for $200 cheaper, and $300 cheaper than a 7090XTX. It's faster than the 4070 Ti by 5 to 10%. What's the pain point again?

I was obviously talking about the comparison with the mentioned cards...

But if you want to talk about this, they are are sold at MSRP when available (Microcenter), so the issue is not pricing but availability.

There are more countries than the USA in the world, FYI.
