ASUS GeForce RTX 5070 Ti TUF OC

"Editor's Choice" increases sales ... the new indirect way of shilling
:peace:
I don't disagree... but it kind of diminishes the badge's value if literally every single (Nvidia) card has it.

Diminishes? The badge has no value. Recommending the same card with wildly different prices
Where did you see that. When the prices are wild it's always a combination with but expensive.
And frankly I'm sick of price discussion. I can't afford it anyway. Lol. I care about build quality and attention to detail and such.

In this review? The card offers margin of error performance differences from an “msrp” variant. For an additional $250, a 33% increase, up to 5080 base (fake) “msrp”. No amount of quality components make up that price difference, if you believe so you’re getting fleeced, and not just once but twice because you believed any of the MSRP weren’t flat out lies, and AIBs raking in as much profit as they’re allowed to after Nvidia beats them with a stick first.

How can anyone in their right mind say two identically performing cards are worth two largely different prices???

You have to merge the image of "editors choice" and "but expensive" badges together in your head. Going on a limb here try squinting. The galax click did not get but expensive badge so it's a different badge.

In 20 series 2080 and 2080 Ti were the 550 and 750 die. 2070 is the 450 die.

2080 Ti sold at 1199. 2070 at 599 or half that, same rule applied now we get 1999 and 999 for the 5090 and 5080, the latter takes the 2070's spiritual place. And the real 5080 Ti with 15360 shaders (14336 enabled $1299) is missing in action.

That has nothing to do with what’s being discussed. 5070ti for $749 vs 5070ti for $1000.

That's why I wouldn't put an "editor's choice" badge on such a card. It definitely isn't my choice, or anyone else's who values their money.
Not many options out there. If the hobby has become too expensive, there are other hobbies :D

Erm... nah. ;) With reduced settings, even a 6600 XT can play anything. It's more than enough until we see some normality in prices again.
Right, but a 12GB card cant do the same.. according to AMD users

Either way, none of this bothers me in the slightest. When I buy a new GPU, chances are it will be on sale like my 4070Ti was, and it was a killer deal compared to 2025 pricing.

Every card is an unique sample, some similar cards may have it while others doesn't. For example, back in the day my GTX 470 had terrible coil whine but I didn't read anywhere that the same model had coil whine with others.
I have 2 Asus Strix 1070 GTX, and they both has awful coilwhine, but nobody writes about it.
Same goes for my old Radeon HD 7970.
But none of GTX 780 I had in my hand got it.
Thats the problem, nobody writes anything about awful coilwhine.
But for example, Suprim 4090 has better coil sound than Strix 4090, because it has better VRM. So now I try to avoid any Asus gpu.

I have an Asus, 2x EVGA, and a Zotac, no coil whine.

Luck of the draw I reckon.

And these days I have noise-cancelling headphones so I can't even hear the whole PC even under full stress, so I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't hear even coil whine.

When we're talking about a $1000 graphics card that has a base version at $750 MSRP, you have to factor in the price. If I reviewed it, I would never in good conscience put any badge on a 33% markup.

Unless there's a Greedy Bastards badge.

In normal conditions this would be 750/850. the "but expensive" badge covers the difference equally well, 850-1000, 100 or +250 is still expensive and everything but cheap. 750 is set in stone by Nvidia, but 1000 is free floating, just like the 5080 is 1285/1465 for the prime/tuf models it has +30%.

In that case, every GPU can have a badge, because there's no such thing as a bad GPU, just a bad price.

Oh wait, every GPU does have a badge these days! It seems we can safely recommend everything to everyone. That's it, no more need for TPU anymore.

Good performance gains: +30% over 4070 Ti
But it's predecessor is not the RTX4070ti, it's the 4070ti Super. and the performance gains are actually 17%

DLSS cannot lock you to any brand cause it's not an investment. Locking you into a platform is something like spending 3k $ for windows software which means you can't move to eg. Linux even if Linux might be better cause you'll need to respend another 3k. How is dlss locking you anywhere? It makes 0 sense
I'll keep calling them out too, but they don't seem to respond to anymore when calling attention to the lack of logic/sense/evidence for claims.

Just seems easier to shit on Nvidia, engage in childish name calling and act like AMD is unfairly persecuted at every turn, and plug their ears when challenged on any of it.

All RTX 5070 ti cards are 1450 here. Insane. I really hate Nvidia tbh. I guess PC gaming is for the rich now. I used to buy 80 tier class cards, now i dunno if i can even get a 60 tier one. I bet that will be 800 bucks. Why not 800 too? the 70 tier class cards are past 1000. I mean what will a 60 card cost? 500? There will be a 500-1000 bucks difference between 60 and 70? Nah. Be real. 4070 ti has been 1k too, for a long time.

RIP PC gaming, It's for the rich now. Funny thing is the XTX card from AMD is almost the same, same or 4080. Why did i wait so long? For 10 more fps? Could have OC the last gen cards and gotten the same fps. Thanks for making us wait Ngreedia, and thanks for pricing them sky-high so we gotta wait even more for that extra 10 fps. WOohooo? Literally the worst company i have ever seen. At least i could buy the Intel 10+++++++++++++++++++++ cpus. They were ok priced too.

I expect you to complain if the 9070 line gets it then.
On the contrary. If Editor's choice is a participation trophy (like it seems to be), then the 9070 should have it as well.

Im locked into AMD's closed system due to AFMF. Yeah, it sounds ridiculous, but that's the level of argumentation used against nvidia. Damn...

Just keep calling it out when you see it, that's about all we can do. It's a public forum, so I don't want to ignore it and have others come through and view this stuff unchallenged and believe it. So at the very least it would show they've been countered on their argument with a better one and then never replied, and hope the masses see logic.

As reasonable human beings, at least we could try to see the argument from both sides, couldn't we? ;)

The argument is that if you want DLSS, your only choice is Nvidia, which is sick and wrong. The counter-argument is that no one is forcing you to want DLSS. Personally, I can kind of agree with both.
