Sounds like you don't understand what battlerecorder is. It's way more than just capturing video. Look up what it was for BF2.

I dont think you know what Battlerecorder is do you? Imagine you could load up the game you just finsinished playing. Completely cycle thru every player, use the camera to travel 360 degrees around that player. zoom in or out as you please, or just fly around the map free cam. Now remember when you shot your SMAW half way across the map and you got a headshot but you only know that because the screen told you? Well now you can cycle thru at that moment while you paused the replay , find the guy and be there 5 inches from his face and have it running in slow mo as you replay this incredible BF moment from any angle over and over again. Imagine the possibilities this has for BF movies and replays. Imagine following that TV missle all the way to its target only to pause it as a dude in a 4 wheeler makes a sweet jump only to get smashed by the missle totally by accident. and you paused it when the missle was only a foot from the bike! and then you take your screenshots and send it to your buddies to show them. Imagine the BF moments montages this could help create. There is nothing like battlerecorder. Oh and by the way that recorded file of your game is like kilobytes big, you can message that to your bud, he puts it in his recorder folder and you can enjoy it together in minutes. Go watch BF2 fan made movies and you'll see what I'm talking about.

But what would be the requirements to run a tool like tgat on a modern game? It would take up exponentially more space to store a bf4 game. I doubt it is as simple as you make it sound.

I played the heck out of BF2, but never messed with Battlerecorder. I just remember it lagged the heck out of the server if it was running on the server.

Attack of the Fanboy - Battlefield 4 launch with 10 maps, 7 game modes

DICE has revealed that there will be plenty of content to arrive with Battlefield 4. In a recent interview at Gamescom, DICE’s Linnea Harrison revealed that there will be 10 multiplayer maps and 7 game modes that ship with the title.

By comparison, Battlefield 3 saw 9 maps and 5 game modes at launch.

Other Battlefield 4 details that came out of the covention, include new information about Commander mode. BF4 Central is reporting that Commander Mode will not be available in all game modes, and will be limited to objective based modes.

DICE also revealed a brand new game mode at Gamescom, called Obliteration.

DICE describes the new mode as “one of the most frantic and high-paced modes available in Battlefield 4.” In the all-new mode, “Two teams face off on medium-sized battlegrounds where one bomb spawns in a random central location. The mission: To pick up the bomb and arm it at one of the enemy’s three military installations and blow it up. When the bomb has detonated, a new bomb spawns in a random location, and the race is on again! The first team to destroy all three objectives wins.”

Reddit - Origin showing Beta release date

UK:

US:

Battlefieldo - Everything You Need To Know About The Battlefield 4 Beta
That was quite the Twitter bomb we dropped, wasn't it?

Last week during GamesCom, Karl-Magnus Troedsson, DICE's General Manager announced the release date of the Battlefield 4 Beta over Twitter, and it was quickly taken down. However, we did grab the info, and some more details on it, including what map and mode.

The beta will be available for everyone on PC, XBOX360 and PS3. However, those who live in Asia, including Japan and Korea will only be able to gain Beta access on XBOX360 and PC only. The beta version will allow players to play the Siege of Shanghai map featuring the classic Battlefield Conquest mode.

The exclusive beta starts October 1st and ends October 4th for anyone who has pre-ordered Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Battlefield 4, the Battlefield 4 Deluxe Edition, or is a Battlefield 3 Premium member. The open beta starts October 4th and ends on October 15th, and is available to anyone who downloads it.

Along with those dates, we recently announced from a trusted and reliable source that you can pre-download the beta on September 28th.

Yeah that sounds like a plan. Better be no hassle access for us Premium users. They like to change shit late in the game (no pun).

Right click on Game details on the game in Orgin. It'll show the BF4 beta game fuzzed out on both games.
Only one shows up as an Orgin game in the My Games interface page though.

Read the BF4 beta F.A.Q.

Q: I am eligible to access the exclusive Battlefield 4™ Beta in multiple ways -- Will I get several invites to access the exclusive Beta? If yes, can I share them?
A: If these entry points are all on the same platform (e.g. MOHW DD + BF4 DD), it would count as 1 invite. Access is tied to your Origin ID and is non-transferable.

Q: I have multiple potential entry points into the Battlefield 4™ Beta from different platforms -- Can I choose which platform to access the Battlefield 4™ Beta on, or give one of my invitations to a friend?
A: In these cases you will be able to access the Battlefield 4™ Beta on several platforms. Access is tied to your Origin ID and is non-transferable.

Q: If I have an entry point on one platform, can I choose to play the Beta on another platform (For example, Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition PS3 player who wants to play the beta on PC?)
A: You will get access on the same platform that your entry point is tied to.

Battlefieldo - Prepare for Camo

In Battlefield 3, we started to see a few limited options for adding camo to weapons and customizing your soldiers. Those of you who have followed gamescom 2013 for the last week have probably heard a good deal of marvel at the number of weapon and vehicle camos that will be available in Battlefield 4.

I happen to be a big fan of customization--as long as it doesn't go too far (this is a military shooter after all)! That said, I think it's awesome that we're going to have so many choices for customization on the Battlefield. Below is a summation of the camo classes and patterns that will be available for weapons and vehicles at launch. Keep in mind that the developers have hinted that we'll get access to other goodies later, possibly in Expansion Packs or Battlepacks. For now, let the fun begin with these!

Viewing the screenshots below this article, it's evident that there will be 8 classes of camouflage to choose from. There were several mentions alluding to 8 classes during some of the streams as well. The 8 available classes are as follows:

ADAPTIVE
AUTUMN
DESERT
NAVAL
SNOW
URBAN
WOODLAND
MISC

The top 7 classes listed above (Adaptive, Autumn, Desert, Naval, Snow, Urban, and Woodland) all seem to have color variations of the following patterns:

ATOMIC
DIGITAL
DOT
ERDL
FLAT
FLECKTARN
GRASS
HEXAGON
PALM
REED
SPLINTER
SPRAY
STARBURST
TIGER
TURTLE
WORM

Additionally, the Miscellaneous class seems to add some unique color variations to the patterns listed above. You may have spotted a few of these in the live stream, such as "Eastern Turtle" and "Firefighter", which seemed to be fairly popular.

Remember that camo can be applied to both your weapons and vehicles, and that you'll be able to create customized emblems as well. Also, there appear to be different camo choices for soldier customization, so that will be covered separately. What does everyone think about the level of customization in Battlefield 4? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!

Battlefieldo - Levolution: Making the Battlefield a Whole New World

LEVOLUTION. The term has been spoken over and over. Our favorite game has been Levolutionized. We don't destroy stuff anymore, we Levolute it instead (hey, it's a verb)! We've seen and heard Levolution described in at least a dozen different ways since Battlefield 4 was announced. So what is it?

Allow me to break it down into its simplest form: Levolution can be defined as "anything that changes the level you're playing on." All of these fancy descriptions really just come down to that. It just seems bigger when you think about all of the awesome ways this can happen during game play, which is probably why everyone involved with this game in any way is so excited by the concept. Because it hasn't simply changed game play, but has further set this game apart from any other in the genre.

Let's take a look at the ways Levolution has been shown to affect Battlefield 4 so far.

Many of the game changing experiences can be triggered by the player. Just be careful, because in Mother Russia, Levolution destructs you! In all seriousness, some of these events may be worth fighting for, while some may be worth fighting against. Gamers may want to cause these events in order to gain an advantage on the Battlefield. Or , let's face it, sometimes we all have fun making something really cool happen. Other times, such episodes may really screw up your strategy. Either way, here's a list of the things we've learned so far that players can have some control over:

  • Birds may fly out of the bushes you're sneaking around
  • Players can set off car alarms
  • Metal detectors can go off
  • Players can activate bollards to control vehicle access
  • Shutters can be lowered to block off an area
  • Train doors can be closed to trap enemies
  • Lights can be turned off in some buildings, enveloping players in darkness
  • An elevator can be used to reach the top of a skyscraper, opening a new area
  • Bridges can be destroyed, making vehicle access to some areas more challenging
  • On a larger scale, events can be triggered by destruction.
Those of us familiar with the Battlefield series are used to destruction, but Levolution takes it to a whole new level:
  • Support beams can be destroyed to collapse the street above
  • A levee on an urban map can be blown to flood an entire city
  • A huge skyscraper can be brought crumbling down on Siege of Shanghai
  • A damaged destroyer can be freed on Paracel by destroying the windmill it's caught on
  • In another map, players will battle to either start or stop a countdown for a warhead
  • Falling trees will cause damage to vehicles and players
  • The trailer below shows some of the above. It also hints at even more destruction, with falling power lines and more rolling boulders than an Indiana Jones movie:

Finally, the dynamic weather changes we've already seen alter the lighting in the map, plus create wind effects that add excitement to the environment. But beyond that, lightning caused by the storm strikes the aforementioned windmill, eventually freeing the destroyer for us. Also in Paracel Storm, we've seen the effect that this inclement weather has on the seascape. Large waves add a new element to naval battles, or, as I like to call them, frog fights. You may be fighting against your enemies, while nature fights against you. Or, you may learn to use the waves to your advantage, catching big air or using them to cover your escape. Either way, this form of Levolution is a big change from what we're used to.

I can't wait to see more of the amazing examples of this concept that the developers have in store for us, and I get the feeling that they're as excited as I am to show us!

Is there a hack that will flip Origin the bird for me when it tries to drop my game because Origin is too retarded to know how to do that?

I think if EA/DICE would just fix that steaming pile, it would solve 99% of the reason why I hate BF3.
