IW seems to have a framerate limit on it. It never goes above 125fps when vsync is turned off in the game or forced off or set to Fast mode in the driver. Kinda annoying when my monitor can do 144Hz and letting it freewheel in Fast mode makes for an awesomely smooth and low lag experience. At least I can set the monitor to 120Hz refresh with vsync and get perfectly smooth animation. I haven't had time to troubleshoot this more fully yet.

I'm currently on the latest WHQL driver 375.70 and might try the hotfix 375.76 driver even though the fixes aren't for this game. I suspect that it's actually just the game engine doing it however, much like Rage is capped at 60fps to this day. Perhaps a game patch will fix this?

Relax. You will literally notice 0 (zero) difference between 144 and 125 FPS, if you indeed are able to maximize those. Most likely the cap is for the multiplayer, but could be the game engine too. Is OK. Good thing is not capped at 60fps like other games...

Only CSGO will show noticeable differences above 100 FPS and it's an engine thing.

I can actually see the difference as I've done a comparison with other games and on the desktop. There's a small, but subtle difference. Also, it stops me using Fast mode syncing as the animation judders instead of being the smooth and lag-free experience it should be.

Can't say with certainty, but I suspect that this is in place due to consoles and will be fixed with a patch.

Not played the game personally so it's hard for me to say, but even without a panel capable of doing above 60-75hz, there is a massive smoothness difference in CSGO regardless.

Maybe this is the same? some engines are like that.

I have all CoD games up to MW3. I don't like how they shifted to Crysis like reality after that, so I have no interest in newer titles then MW3. I would however like to have MWR, that title was one of the best!

Ok guys I had a chance to play COD IW and.....well FPS part is good as usual like in all cod games so nothing new there except that you are in the future and using some space-kalashnikov(for real),Graphics are nice and really well optimized, story line is kind a meh and a bit boring but cut scenes still looks and feels very immersive....now I play a bit flying part and I must said that it is arcadie offcourse but it works so good and its filled with action non stop...
I decide to record and show you below how well this game is actually optimized I was surprised when I tried to play this on my 3x monitor setup with my old GTX 660 TI with almost all on high/normal only AA was off....with Vertical Sync on FPS was mostly locked on 60 or close to this number...

PC spec:
CPU:FX 8300 OC 4Ghz
GPU:GTX 660 TI (MSI PE OC)2GB clocked/1202mhz/mem 1853mhz
16GB ddr3
SSD Samsung
Game Settings:
Res:3840x1024
AA/Off
High/Normal Texture

I'll buy it when it's on sale for $29.99. I only play the single player. I voted not sure only because I don't know how long it would will be till it's on sale... lol If they would have gave the Vive users the VR map then I would have bought it day one... but looks like only PSVR got that map.. I'm hoping they will give it to us in a couple months. If so I'll pay full price.

Cod4 MW was the death of this series. This remastered series is a port from console to PC so its worse than the original in my opinion. PROMOD, the competitive mod made the game, which we can no longer use since there are no modded servers or a server list.

I agree COD4 was a true GEM...after that COD series just start to erode more&more.....well all i can said about COD IW is that single player campaign is better than what most people expected.....and its really well optimized.....

Yeah the single player is great! I'm running it with mostly 60 fps though it does dip into the mid 50's from time to time. This with High settings at 4k on a GTX 1080

I bought the game, to realize that it doesn't work with a 4.1 setup, only with stereo or 5.1? WTH??
Is the first time it happens something like this to me?? Usually the games are mixing center channels within mono left/right, which is perfectly fine, but this game cuts the sound completelly!!
Does anyone know any fix for this??

Can anyone who's playing this on an AMD GPU answer this please.

I've been reading numerous threads/posts around the net about the bug in the Burn Water mission that happens on AMD GPUs, where you're stuck and cannot move your ship and eventually get destroyed.

Here's the question, recently I've read that simply reverting your ship to default skin and weapons fixes it, is this true? If so, I may get this game soon. Either way, it seems the game needs to be patched for this, and they should have responded by now with so many complaining of it.

I don't know if this has been specifically patched, but I do know that an update or two have come down since launch day, so hopefully it's fixed.

Yeah I know, but I see no evidence of a fix for AMD users in recent posts I've read. At best there's just been possible workarounds.

And no Activision, this is not good enough.

Oh and another thing. When I see that there's been a patch, I go to News to see what it's meant to fix or improve, but there's nothing. Only for certain large patches do they ever say what they're for, which is annoying.

Personally, I wouldn't let this stop me from buying it though. I did a quick Google and came up with this known issues page for IW. I didn't see the problem you describe, but there's gonna be a big patch in the next few days which I'll bet fixes this problem.

...there's gonna be a big patch in the next few days which I'll bet fixes this problem.
OK, good to know, thanks. I can wait a few more days. For now I was just wondering if anyone is playing it on an AMD GPU and knows if the workaround I mentioned fixes the Burn Water mission like some said. Even better if they fix it via patch though. At least that way you don't have to use default weapons and skin for the ship.

Peoples are talking about 100,120,140 fps on CoD InWar. and am I only the one who played it at 60 fps?
I really liked this game but kinda feel very short storyline.
Way better than Black Ops 3.

I don't want iw, only cod4 remastered. But I will not pay 400kr for a game I already own (original cod4) so I have to wait for discount. Or until they decide to split the games up. Which I hope they will. IW is getting alot of bad reviews on steam.

Are you guys experiencing sudden FPS drops or annoying mouse acceleration? The found fixes are to alt-tab the game after changing some video settings, and for the mouse acceleration to disable FRAPS (??)

That's what I wanted to ask. Just started the game and having Fraps running at background causes unbelievable mouse acceleration/movement! So is there a way around it? I like to take screenshots while in game. No FPS drops was noticed so far however, but just played one mission.
