If I wanted to make cash right now, I'd just fit out a Viper (medium lasers, small miniguns, chaff launcher, shield cells, kill warrant scan) with the best stuff you can and head for a Resource site. Kill pirates. Go after the big stuff and target their power generators.

remember you can trade in your ship for it! you earn back alot of money from your ship and upgrades the depreciation is not alot! in your right panel you can see your current assets which can help you plot when and what you can afford or buy.

I just ninja edited you. Yes, I'm aware of that but for some reason am not jumping towards it... I may want to have a decent fighter some day.

Although, fuel consumption on my Viper also seems piss poor. Maybe it's just my engine too.... lol

I honestly miss all my ships...wish I would've just kept em all. Each has a use.

Honestly, I wish there were more tourney's in stock Sidewinders and Eagles (with or without weapon upgrade allowances, the Eagle needs some power work before the third weapon slot is useful for lasers), the sound of the Sidey's engines still make me love to fly in this imagined future. My Eagle was the most fun, my Cobra is still my overall favorite though. The Hauler made me so much in trading, not rares either...I plan to try that out sometime. I honestly am looking forward to buying a Viper to spec out.

I have missed so much with school, but what little I've played has kept me addicted. I'm hoping to play more soon though! :toast:

Heads up, LHS 3447 has a station (110k ls out

) that sells vultures and the c3 gimballed beams and cannons.

Sadly everything else is not good, and it is rather difficult to get out of. No FSD, powerplant, or distributor upgrades.

Anyone know of a place to live that has multiple gas giants with res's? My home seems to have been mined so much that the RES doesn't host great spawn rates anymore.

Anyone use the voice commands? I use Voiceattack with the ASTRA AI pack and I have to say I absolutely love it. Especially with a controller some of the keybinds get complicated and if im in the middle of a heavy fight I can just speak to it and have something done while im working on maneuvering. I have to say its gotten me out of some binds and buys me a little more time in the thick since i can dictate and think faster then i can hit an extended key sequence on my KB.

Also some HUD pics for ya anyone else change their colors? I went with a purple blue i like the scheme and its way easy on the eyes at night. the colors are a tad more vivid but the compression from 5mb bmp to jpg took its tool on the purple for example.

I too use VoiceAttack. Works awesome. I might use a lot of terms from star trek... I was thinking about getting Astra but wasn't sure if it would be a pain to get it working with VoiceAttack so I have held off.

Anyhoo...I'm new to the game. Bought it last Friday and even though I'm having issues making money atm as I figure it all out; the game kicks ass.

Using VoiceAttack, CH Products Fighterstick & Pro Throttle and a tablet for some marketing data and maps.

My new Whip thanks do doing a Community Goal. But I am literally flat broke(200k) but I got her home to my station in 72 Ophiuchi safe and sound. Her name is Petra and she will sit docked for awhile until I get some more cash. I still have my A Spec'd Cobra to take out for some Bounty Hunting to make up some cash.
But DAMN I am so excited to own my "end game" ship.

Looks sweet! Another week and a half and I graduate college and will have time to play again! I did squeeze in an hour a couple weeks ago and had a blast in a conflict zone killing bogey's and earning credits. Was a blast!

Yeah that is the Fer De Lance. On of the latest ships we got. It's pretty much a heavy fighter. My mate has one and it just melts opponents...

It is. Most of the ships in the game are named that way. the cobra MKIII, the Viper, the Asp, the Anaconda....

Only get it if you have a lot of spare time, That said the combat in the game i find pretty much top notch and keep seeing people go on about how pretty SC is but the combat don't look 1/2 as much fun which all so give me a arcade feeling too.

High learning curve ( but all good games have those ) but this one a little extra due to the lack of a detailed manual, and keys you need are often referred to the default key lmao.

But once you get the hang of it there is a lot of fun to be had with it.

Some thing that is nice is that you can play on your own or a private group so you don't have to deal with any assholes. Due to this game not having a reset on release day there is so many powerful ship owners who you want know are a pirate until it's to late.

To me ED is what GTA4 was to me were with SC is more GTA5 which is the 1st GTA game i have not got on release day.

i am 294 hours in and still playing it daily.

I love this game, and can't wait to get back into the frontier. I had some fun in conflict zones the other night, staying out until I had a thread left to get me back to a station to repair and cash in. Made gobs of cash...similar to what my trades were netting me. Don't miss trading much, the action in this game is a blast.

I gotta say that I spend multitudes more time in Elite than I ever have in SC. No contest, and while I won't bash SC, it's always left me wanting a different experience in combat. Plus the controller configuration is a pure nightmare of doing anything beyond KB + Mouse or XBOX360 IMHO. I could go on, but I do have high hopes for SC to be as epic as Chris Robert's and crew have promised.

Elite is a different animal, and it is amazing. Sure it has plenty of setbacks for many gamers, but really for me I've really enjoyed every minute...even my catastrophic mistakes.

I am an old Tie Fighter and X-Wing guy...I loved those games, especially Tie Fighter, to the point I just picked both up from Gog.com and plan to restart them. I also just got Freespace 2 Open with 2014 updates installed....I graduate this upcoming Saturday from College and cannot wait to have free time again!

I imagine that my classic games will collect a little more dust as I hone my Elite Dangerous skills and hopefully get to team up with some fellow TPUers for some epic action!

Yeah in ED i use mouse keyboard TM HOTAS and a TM wheel for the pedals with no issue's at all.
