Haven't been able to play recently with school back in session...last semester.

I'm not aware of this bug...haven't hit up FD forums recently...but you've passed me! I haven't owned a type 6 yet! But I did buy an A4 FSD for my Cobra.

School isn't that great, but that FSD is! I considered getting it, but spent it on the 6 instead. I was making 84k a run with a cobra outfitted to 60 cargo units. No shields.

I think since last Monday I've logged almost 60 hours. To be fair, it counts the time the launcher is open, so maybe more like 36.

Well, I'll bump again. I say we need a TPU group for when Wings launches.

As for my side of things I've not done much since my last post. I've outfitted a viper to the max and traded my type 6 for a cobra but ended up not liking the pirate life. I might put a FSD interdictor on my Viper for hunting the law-breakers. I've mainly focused on saving credits and ranking up in the federation so I can buy this thing.

I think my net worth (with all ships and everything) is only 4.5m so it's a bit out of my reach.

I haven't done a lot recently...school takes up a lot of my time, so Elite and others are retired for a little bit. Still workin on some type-6 trades while I finish upgrading my cobra. I kind of wanna go take part in one of those PvP matches where both pilots are in stock sidewinders. I forget the weapons ruling though. Sound like a fun detour to grinding credits. I just want a few more upgrades for the Cobra so I can get into more intense battle areas and into a little PvP action. I'm up for wings, but I have no idea how often or when I'll be available...it'll be random.

Great game, if you love space sims and are patient, then you should grab this. It's an amazing experience.

I recommend you watch some youtube vids as well.

They are constantly fixing things and adding stuff...March's 1.2 patch should implement the Wings coop, where you and 3 buddies can form a small squadron, share jumping to the same instances, etc. You don't choose severs, you just connect...there is Solo which is online but in PvE with no other players, and there is Online mode which is PvE, PvP, etc.

There's a lot to like, and I really miss playing since school started back up. My poor CH Fighter Stick glares at me every time I get to my desk.

I haven't lined up with any TPUers, but I've had a lot of fun, and dealt with awesome and asshole players. If you want a very good space sim, that has good combat and trading aspects, and is constantly improving this is it. I play this and EvoMerc quite a bit as both are great, but this is better overall.

I am biased and have played this since last summer's beta. I am a huge space sim fan and this one does a good job of being fun. But it has its downsides too, some get bored easily or don't like all the manual items such as having to land at a station, you gotta request to land before entering or be shot, and have to deploy landing gear and land at the right pad, etc. I love it though, it's fun!

I'm a goody two-shoes trader which likes to pound the crap out of random AI pirates that jump me. Don't be one of those and we'll get along fine.

I dont like "pirates" I just dont ask whats in the box when i need to deliver something. on the other side i usually dont pull over for police. I prefer the term chaotic neutral.


EDIT:: do you guys use controllers or joy sticks at all? or is mouse and KB ok? what about these voice command packs you can buy are those a thing?

IMO yes. Someone else may say no. If you enjoy space at all and realize the there is quite a grind it's for you!

Yes, the game will try and put you in the same instance as your friends. If we made a private group we would always be put in the same instance, but wouldn't see real people outside the group. A Wing will be a group of 4 people that have ways to follow eachother. So if you are in a Wing with 3 others, and one is like a type 9 and the others are vipers you can help if the type 9 gets interdicted. Thing is, other Wings might be pirates, so it might be 2 pythons and 2 vipers vs your Wing of 3 vipers and a type 9.

Pirates are my kind of people, though if you have a bounty I might require a bribe of a few cargo to not try and kill you.

Here's the thing. When I started out I got very tired of the grind. If you get really tired of it instead of quitting just let me know. I won a lucky 200k and would be willing to give it to you. It should be enough to buy and give a basic upgrade to the first ships in trading and fighting. If you don't want that that's cool too.

I also use KB+M. Works fine for me though chatting is weird. Voice attack seems nice but I don't use it.

Right now the friends/grouping thing is pretty bad. The next big update in a month or so should take care of that though.

I use an Xbox 360 controller. Works great, and whatever keybinds I don't use on it, I bind to the lower part of my keyboard. Things like landing gear, chaff, shield cells, etc.

I like watching that guy do a stealth landing with stolen goods. Aim for the opening, full throttle, then switch everything off a few kilometers out and pray you don't bounce off the side into fourty thousand pieces.
