Chip's Challenge hooked me decades ago and I couldn't stop playing it. In fact I still fire it up in DOSBox/Win95, it's that good. The Steam version is a pale imitation of the 16bit original.

I'm both addicted to but frustrated by STALKER 2. In the game's defense though, the frustration is often due to my not knowing something about the game. For instance I assumed the Weird Ball artifact, which absorbs a lot of damage you would otherwise take in a firefight, had no negative effect. Turns out it was why I was becoming overburdened and unable to move when taking fire, as it swells up to 7KG while absorbing damage!
