Has Youtube Lost it's Mind?

For game streaming, sure, but for anything remotely useful? Nah.

Patreon ?
Isn't that a donation service for content creators (and not a video sharing platform)?

Any newborn?
What's that?

If we just wait and sit here (yt), nothing else will ever appear... There is no other way to deal with Youtube - pay up or leave (or use adblocker/programs).
If 98% of the content you're interested in is on YouTube and nowhere else, then you don't have a choice. It's not up to us, but the content creators to post their stuff on other platforms and advertise it in their videos or website. But as long as they earn money from YouTube, why would they?

Maybe they are trying to destroy all the Ad block software lol because mine works fine on my Smart TV but I came on Youtube to avoid commercials not have up to 180 seconds of Ads to watch a 5 minute video.

Using Seamonkey with uBlock Origin, when they try to load a add it fails every time so i just hit the forward and back on the browser ad skipped carry and watch haha.

Yeah, that's what I thought. You got nothing.
Yes, there is nothing big enough in the western part of the world.
But some channels do certain things, like post some of the video on youtube and other parts on another platform. And these are the first steps, Google's stupid moves are enough and people are leaving it, don't worry.
Youtube is the only thing I still use from their stupid services from years ago, but I think that will end soon too.
I wouldn't want to say anything more for now :)

Yes, I prefer to pay the creator rather than Google :)

That's true for now.

I see no indication of that happening, but we'll see.

Sure, but I don't see how paying content creators on Patreon gives you ad-free content on Youtube. It can give you early access and insider stuff, but most of the time, I don't care. I think the revenue from views, sponsors and ads should be enough. If it isn't, then your content is either not good enough, or it's too expensive to make - neither of which problems is mine to sort out.

Edit: The reason why I don't have too much of an issue with Youtube, except for the excessive, unskippable ads, is that it's a stable platform. It runs on any PC, phone or TV, it supports the latest video codecs, its quality is fine, etc., not to mention my adblocker still works on it. Giving Youtube any crap for its monopole status is like doing the same with Steam, but let's not forget why and how that monopole status came to be.
