i know that my PSU can handle anything in the consumer space. i'm just hoping that the PSU makers give us the option to just buy 12V only cables for future boards.

There is no way I would buy a 1800w+ PSU for a single GPU.

BTW, 1.8Kw PSU in ATX3.0 standard will be able to cope with 3.5-5Kw spikes so, that's ALOT.

You can get more than 1800W out of an outlet in the US for short periods of time. "5 hp" shop vacs pull way more power on startup. Also, any homeowner that wants 240V outlets in the US can have them, it's not against any electrical codes, nor does it require anything special other than the wire and 220V breaker.

This comes with a 1600w standard, add another "accelerator" and you are in the 2KW range.
