It works well on win 8.1 with gt730, but under win 8.1 manual select still shows only 3 drivers, while win 7 shows 5 version.

Yeah i haven't uploaded so many drivers yet, and it seems some drivers are windows 7 only, while others are 7 & 8.1

edit: can you test if one of those win 7 only drivers works on your 8.1 system? or if the windows 10 driver has to be used?

yup, soon i will finish my bench run and can check this

Edit: now back to basic, win 8.1, gt 730 nothing happen, no automatic, no manual, just loading dropdown menu which is empty.
After it works on my laptop, so didnt try these drivers yet.

Just bought and installed a second hand gigabyte GTX1060 OC 6GB for 239€.

1/ I ran DDU in failsafe mode and rebooted
2/ I ran NVcleaner and asked for the bare minimum (drivers + physx)
3/ I fired GPU-Z to make sure this card is not a scam (luckily it's not

)

All is well, the lightweight installation suite my needs, what's left to do now is play Doom 2016 and make sure the card has not been abused by a fucking miner.

edit : NVcleaner didn't intercept the end of the driver installation and keep spining indefinitely , the "Finished" button is grayed out, i think i will kill the process.

Apart from that, smooth experience :pimp:

Thanks! Did you close the NVIDIA installer window? (it'll wait for the setup.exe process to exit).

Yes, it reached the end and didn't ask for reboot or anything. I quit the programthe normal way, and then noticed NVcleaner still spinning on the background afterward.

Simply I click ok in the best driver / manual mode section in the first nothing happens, with the second one there is written loading ..
I will try to do a clean uninstall of the drivers

Hmm could be that it doesn't find a suitable driver for you (out of the drivers I uploaded). What's the device Id of the card? The number on the first screen

Updated build in first post:

- Added text when no suitable driver is found
- When no suitable driver found, disable next button
- Fixed driver detection for some cards (like GT 730)

Hi W1zzard
I just DL 416.81 and have it on my F drive
I run NVCleaninstall.exe, then use driver file on disk.
Point it to drivers folder but nothing shows, doesn't seem to see exe installers.

Edit: Do I have to unpack it first if it is a local driver?
Edit2: That worked once I unpacked driver.
One thing, I did display, HD audio and physX, I still have NvTelemetryContainer service running, maybe a reboot will fix that. I did check "clean install" in Nvidia setup screen.
Ok, After reboot NvTelemetryContainer is still there (I can set it to manual/disabled), Task Scheduler NV tasks have been removed, nothing listed there.
Edit3: So I looked at the date and they don't match to the 416.81 NvTelemetryContainer foler>NvTelemetryContainer.exe. I think it might be the issue with Nvidia "clean install" option not working totally right.
In the past, I have used this option and sometimes I still had my driver settings after install (Should have to reset them for a clean install).

Just thinking out loud, if you had a 20xx card, wouldn't you want the RTX Stuff (NGXcore folder?) enabled with the display driver.
Maybe it does as I don't have one to test.

I think there is a problem:

Best driver is not an option? (Is it meant to Auto Select a driver based on my hardware?) Grayed out. Had to select Manual.

I ran this today, Manual option and selected the newest driver 416.81. Selected top 3 boxes, driver, HDMI audio, PhysX., it ran OK and had to exit program via X box.

It's a bug in the current version. change the selection to "manually select" and then back to "auto" and it will enable the button

I reran it a second time and this time NvTelemetryContainer is gone, so I think it is buggy clean install option.
One other thing I noticed I had VC++ 2015 runtimes installed and I checked off the 2017 runtimes but don't seem like it installed them, maybe because I only have a minimum of things checked (graphic, HD audio and PhysX) that these don't need VC++ 2017 runtimes.

Sub'd. I'm due for a gpu driver update as GFE is nagging about it (I use shadowplay/share). But I don't like telemetry stuff.

Will test this out once I off work.
