@15th Warlock, wow. There should be another driver soon, lets hope it's not all just about Mantle. I did notice that with 14.1 the CCC overdrive tick box would automatically tick it's self when I used AfterBurner. Unwinder advises to have it unticked when using AB.

Since i installed the the 14.1 drivers, my water cooled 290x throttle down to a steady 840-850mhz in Furmark benchmark only. Never happened with previous drivers. Tried with and without Afterburner, it look like the power limit feature is not working at all since the further i push the clocks, the lower it will throttle down in Furmark.

A little late to the party but I got a freaking great overclocking HIS R290 iceQ x2 gpu tonight!

Asic is 82.6 and the card is way quieter then my case fans!

will upload pic's tomorrow
So what frequency you getting on it. Because my 290X maxes out at 1210mhz @1.283V I think if I got it cooler I could get 1250 or even more but the cooler isn't up to the task. On stock it does 1140mhz

Looks awesome bro, and that OC is awesome already! Have you checked to see if it's voltage locked?

Your like me,
Who cares what it looks like inside as long as the cables are tidy the colours are meaningless and led lights get snipped except for the hard drive.
Good overclock for stock V

I recently starting caring about the inside of my case, in the last 3 years I'd say. My Haf case has a window (as well as the one I'm going to be switching to) and I like things to look baller, but I did make the switch away from LEDs. I used to have blue led fans everywhere, as well as the little blue lights for the raystorm block, but I got tired of that; none of that anymore.

@fullinfusion:
Irregardless, from your pic, the card actually looks great, better than the pics online. What is the stock voltage? That OC is impressive on stock volts. ;)

You got me on that one. I have know idea what the volts are. AB just shows mv + 1,2,3 ect. Mabey theres a prigram out there so I can see. Mantel runs sweet! I was seeing 100+ fps at times. And yeah id sure liked ti get the msi gpu to match the inside of the case but few and far between here so I grabbed this card and my luck the msi probably wouldnt clock worth a crap.

Also idle the fan is @20% and dead silent. About the highest temp I seen last night was mid 50's and the fan was around 32%

Im just going to find a back plate and bye bye blue pcb but all in all this is a sweet ass card and couldnt be happier. I just hope I can find a twin to crossfire this baby come tax time.

Finally, the only missing piece of my (never-ending) puzzle!!!! Just bought a Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X yesterday:rockout:.

Honestly, I started on modding my case well before this particular card and alas the color and theme is purely coincidental :). Here is my 3DMark score:

What clocks were you running?

1100/1400mhz atm. Haven't fiddled with voltage control yet. Fan at auto and for the first time after several reference cards later, I don't have a freaking vacuum cleaner at my side:). Temps are at 73c after playing BF4. Max temp was at 80c after playing heavily modded skyrim w/ max ENB settings. ENB can really stress my system better than BF4 at ultra settings.

The buggers voltage must be locked even though it shows it could be changed. It clocked 1200/1450 at stock but any touch of volts it crash.

Sold it local after 10 min of posting it F/S :D

This is what I just ordered from my local shop as it's a guarantee to have it in my hands by the 6th of March. Tax time is so close I may order a 2nd one as well sense they are going to order it on the 4th so im crossing my fingers I have the funds for the 2nd one to crossfire.

I can't fault you for that new card because it looks downright awesome! (it would match my mobo very well ;))

I guess we have to wait a little bit before we see your new stuff, but we can wait. Congrats on the purchase!

So what's the consensus? Any issues on any games with these cards? Anyone have stuttering problems with any titles?

Only asking as I'm in the process of new build speccing and Im going higher end this time.

I'm loving my card! It's a reference 290 with a waterblock on it, and it's a beast in games, maxes BF4 like nobody's business, as well as most of everything else.

I say go for it if you can find one at a reasonable price....

AB allows voltage adjustment up to +100mv and Trixx allows up to +200mv adjustment on the following cards: R9 290(X) reference, R9 290(X) Tri-X, R9 290(X) Windforce. They may also work on others but I'm not sure.

No stuttering in any game, besides some issues with the beta 14.1 drivers, I haven't had any problems whatsoever.

These cards are even faster than my Titans, and almost half the price, couldn't be happier ;)

Definitely considering a pair of them. Looking at different cases which could accommodate them and keep them cool as I'll be running all GPUs on air.

Edit - Maybe the air 540?
