and 2x zotac gtx 480amp 1 open box and many more i almost forgot


and moar for today -- can ya guess which are these -- 2 different ones


there should be an evga 8800gts 512 black pearl but have not found it

There’s a pair of Palit versions on eBay that I’ve had my eye on for a while. In original boxes as well. So cool.

Not unreleased, but this wasn't a card for the general public, so I'd say it's rare.
Sun Microsystems XVR-600 (I took off the heatsink to replace the paste)
The specs are kinda weird compared to today's cards: 32MB display list memory, 32MB texture memory, 64MB framebuffer memory.
The 64-bit PCI interface is not only 64-bit, but also has 66MHz compatibility.
Designed for use with Sun Microsystems workstations/servers in the Solaris operating system.
I think the Sun computers are real neat, which is why I bought this.
Here is a datasheet and the manual, which lists some more specs on pg. 23.

Edit: also, I have a couple more Sun cards if anyone's interested.

I used to see those, or very similar back in school. One of my IT classes we recycled old donated stuff from business and public. Saw a lot of crazy cool stuff that at the time didn’t realize how significant they may have been. Lots of stuff from Sun back then that I remember tearing down. This was probably ~2005-2009 LOL.

Recently got one interesting card. I assume it's an engineering sample of Trident 3DImage 9750, made by number9. At least they had a habit to print exactly the same USA map on a PCB.

I don't know what it is that I like about these older beasts. I don't have this feeling these days that high-end GPUs are special anymore..

I think the KFA2 GTX 980 Hall of Fame "8 Pack" is the special one here I think. First it restarted the whole PC when installing drivers. But after a good clean, new thermal paste and pads it worked like new. The 290X Lightning and R9 Fury are not that rare, but still very good and quiet cards.

Not sure how rare these are but I snagged them all the way from the UK. Mainly just hadn’t seen anything like it for this generation. Interesting looking but a cool find I feel with the original boxes.

Made a photo of my boxed hardware when moved to other place, anyway I had to sort everything properly, so why not make a few photos, other time it's too complicated to put all this stuff in one place.



There are some motherboards among, but mostly it's videocards on both photos.

Good to see somebody else tries to get them in their original retail boxes. I find the boxes are harder to find than the cards themselves!

That's true. For 99,999% people this boxes takes too much space and they thow them immidiately after purchaice or within a year or so after and it's very sad, some of them are impossible to find nowadays and they are much more rare then videocards. I really like how they look, small piece of computer history.

They must keep the box if they want to resell the card later for a possible upgrade with another card, and/or for RMA/warranty service.
The box is really important to be kept.

BTW, my Rage Fury MaXX box was never opened and is still sealed, maybe there is no card inside, who knows I had to buy second one, because I don't want to open the box, maybe it's the only one new Fury MaXX remained on a planet.
