There was a bios update so why not.

You will need to restrict its power draw to 100W in UEFI just to make sure the motherboard is able to handle the current in it.

IPC is a little worse though single core speed is more limited by lower max OC potential, but depending on your workload having twice the cores will easily surpass that IPC/clockspeed shortage.

Hello guys, is there anyone had trouble with OC settings that have been used for months with no problem and suddenly having trouble with same settings?

B550M DS3H, R5 5600 1.124v 4.45GHz (Turbo boost works fine but I can not manually overclock it. Keeps giving "Boot Failure Detected".

I’m afraid you’re not going to find much info about OC a Ryzen CPU. Users pretty much abandon the idea of static OC after 3000 series.

Has the system changed in any way the time that those settings were no longer bootable?
Any bios update maybe?
Something related with Ram?

Any hardware were not changed.

I updated my bios, It did not help.

My RAM's are working +400MHz and fine at the moment. If I change CPU's clock speed I encounter this issue. I haven't done Memtest86 test but memories should be fine.

The fact that this user post those pics on line along with his false claims, portraits its knowledge about the subject "CPU installation".
Only noticed the obvious "burned" spots but not the damaged socket (on 2 spots) which clearly suggests a wrong installation.

And they say those things are fool proof... lol

Who knows man, people do all kinds of crazy things for attention. I don't even install my cooler when the system is vertical, to me that is crazy talk lol.

having some buyers remorse atm cuz i really like my 5800x3d, after 3 years of waiting to see an
opportunity of changing my 5600x basically just 3 months ago could pull a nice deal/swap and grab a
5800x3d brand new for $100. Still my rtx 3080 didnt go with 99% usage in most of the games, example
Cyberpunk and HZD. 96% ~ 98% usage. I was worried about having more issues with gpu usage in a near future
if i just upgraded my gpu.
So i decide to buy now, kinda afraid too for the 25% tariff that some are talking about thats is coming back and I can give my son and upgrade
for his 7700k.

Right now im hitting 98%~99% in CP2077 and in HZD 99% or 100% locked most of the time.

Temps are idling 28c~31c
Loading games goes really fast all the way up to 80c ~
gameplay
HZD-CP2077 40~47c
BF2042 more than hour playing , 128 players 45c up to 57c

im using HWinfo to check temps for now, i installed msi afterburner but it doesnt show the cpu temps option for OSD, maybe needs an update.

... just sharing this just for relieving a little myself, i really like my 5800x3d and in a certain way i try to convince myself that i did a good buy
thats gonna serve me for at least 3 to 5 more years.

Actually the chip is a 2700 which is awesome as it's a 65W version with slightly lower clocks than the X model. I guess that the Wraith Spire is enough as my friend gave that also.
