Well just to let you know that isn't an M60 in my video. Its a Browning .50 cal AKA "Ma Deuce"
ok it's a Browning .50 (Browning M2 to be precise which the 2nd vids on that post show, and also the audio on that one is a tad better and show ho weak it sounds, ok still sounds better than a AR or MBR )i got that, i mixed the M 60 in the idea dunno why ... it's been already 14yrs for me ... ahah, well the M 60 for us is the equivalent of the MG 51 (which is a German MG 42 reworked) but i still heard a .50 up close and that browning would sound just like it in reality (same casing/lock/feeding system/trigger etc etc etc ) well in fact the one mounted on our Piranha 8x8 and on the M109 Kawest is a M2HB (oh .... i just got where the nickname "Ma Deuce" come ... ) well so i totally know how that gun sound in real (without earplug once ... and even like that it was not a sound i would qualify as strong and powerful )
even a quad 30mm Aden Revolver Canon shot from a Hawker Hunter (which pack near the same punch as a GAU 8, just ... less sustained firepower ofc) sounds weak for me ... ok i reckon i am used to hear a 3 burst 15sec M 126 155mm from a M109 Kawest in a live shot test (swiss variant of the M109 Howitzer and M109A6 Paladin after upgrade, roughly ) so anything sound rather weak in comparison
heck even the M61A2 Vulcan on our F/A-18C sound like a brrrrrttt (a type of "pet pet pet" but faster ...) heard at AXALP
ofc the live sound is a bit different than on video
how i feel in the Merlin....
in a reduced frame size tho
(and yes ... even on the swiss Hornet you have a hook, reminiscent of the carrier based one)
well the Mantis GT-220 sound almost like the M61A1 20mm so (being a 20mm Gatling it's a bit logical, altho the size in game is more of a 75mm one) .... no problem in SC sound
(tho it sounds wrong for a Gatling ... unless it's a real slow one) Laser are pew pew pew logically
so they also sounds right
my fav sound (heard live that one is indeed a "BANG")
Solothurn S18/1000
but i get why you think like that for SC ... it's a game it should sound a bit more impressive
