I just stopped by my friend's place whom has a PS3. We were chatting about upcoming consoles and stuff. He says he's getting a PS4. Then he puts in Zen Pinball Star Wars Edition.
I'm thinking, A), I'll suck at it, B), it'll be boring. I sucked at first but since I used to be an actual pinball player as a kid, I started getting the hang of it. You don't have to be good with a gamepad because it's just L&R bumper taps to use the flippers.
We did mostly the Episode V mode where movie screens come up if you enable them and Vader asks you to "Choose wisely". We sat there several games trying to figure out how to do that. I Googled for a wiki on it while he was having ago at it. All you do use scroll through the scenes with the flipper and hit X to select.
Then the fun begins as various Star Wars dialog plays, with various figures popping up depending on your selection. It's then that you can really rack up points. "Vader's Fury" is also pretty good. At a certain point he'll jump in and "Alter the game".
Yeah it's nothing super cerebral but it's got nice graphics, it's a lot of fun, it only cots $10, and it can really hone your reaction time. I started out feeling a bit sluggish, but after about 15 minutes it had me much more alert.
We always talk about AAA titles, but sometimes these little overlooked ones can sustain your interest after those $60 ones lose much of their appeal.
