Did some more testing on my main and secondary PC. I looked at total power consumption in Mass Effect: Andromeda, checking the same scene with the same exact settings. The FX8300/HD7970 rig was consuming 410w in game and peaked at 492w during shader generation on first launch. The 3300X/6600XT combo was at 109w and 151w, respectively. 1080p with V-sync @ 60.

So far, my estimates are checking out. Almost 4x less energy used when gaming. For Earth!

thanks to the Mods then for bringing my post back

I have spent some of my afternoon to do some Heavy gaming comparing the power draw of the 6600XT vs my 6700XT.

Same Game conditions (bunch of Simracing titles like AMS2, PC2 and ACC) focusing on OC/UV settings to minimize power consumption

Triple 1080p with Freesync @75hz Max draw 6700XT 120W 6600XT 135W
720p Plasma upscaled to 1440p @60Hz Max draw 6700XT 100W 6600XT 80W

What's interesting is that at 1440p the 6600XT is even more efficient! but then I need to crank up a bit Core/Memory clock on my Triple Monitor set-up to achieve the same fps than the 6700XT

but yes overall, even if that's embarrassing bit to bit in a lower Tier GPU crew now, I don't regret my choice. I might even put the savings I made towards a proper UW 1440p display if I can see some nice deal in the New Year Sales
There should be no embarrassment for having any card, high or low tier, its not like having a higher tier card makes ones junk longer :D

If temps are fine (junction was 85-87C max), what could cause PC shutdwon during Time Spy GT2? GPU was consuming 520W+, tried to run same setting two times, same. PSU is be! quiet 1000W Platinum

On first thought some sort of over current protection on the Gpu, or even ocp on the Psu, you could have hit some safety limits, and GT2 is the most power intensive part of that test. 520+w sustained is quit a lot.

You could look at the error code in windows. Betther then guessing. Don't just assume it's the gpu, it could memory oc or a million other things, assuming stuff with PC's never helped me in the past.

Anyone else had this kind of texture popping and flickering exclusively happens in doom eternal reloading level shows it consistently restarting the game when it does not show it consistently shows no flickering.
If had these kind of issues with other games before where others showed similar problems, getting bit fed up with these issues and bug reports to amd not doing anything.

did it. used another Amazon Japan campaign (you have to love being prime user...) and bought this one https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B09DSY4VCK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

its really good at improving immersion vs the Plasma TV, and 40W of electric consumption vs the 450W will make this being the cherry on the cake.

its a 3440x1440p and the 6600XT handles Games very well on it. I have managed to run my Simracing Games at 60 fps with Max graphics settings, including Assetto Corsa with SOL mod.
and this while UVing the card to 2200Mhz/1.075V so temps in low 50s and whisper quiet

I pushed the envelop to take advantage of the monitor High refresh rate and she could pull close to 90fps in some cases but of course with higher temps and noise
Might be doing this if I start to play again FPS Games obviously

Just a finding, the card is Nitro+ by the way, with my Powercolor 6700XT I could undervolt to 1.02V at similar Core frequency so that,s the only thing really missing with the 6600XT, the better UVing potential, but all the rest largely counterbalances this

So me being happy bunny right now :D

Most probably a power supply issue. I have hit >700w on my 6800 XT with no problem in Time Spy Extreme. I'm using a Seasonic 1300w PSU.

Seems setting decal quality from ultranightmare to nightmare instantly resolves it but it only appears 1 out of 10 times you startup doom eternal on those specific levels, and if it appears only restart fixes it not reload or setting decals to nightmare.

Well, where 850PSU is not enough for this rig to run at stock settings, I tend to agree with you!
Generally speaking a 750w is enough if its good quality and you don't go crazy with OC's. I ran my 6800xt on a Corsair CX750 (that's a average PSU) for 4 months, had 0 issues, even when doing some temporary high OC's. Many PSU's do no handle spikes very well :)

EVGA 850GA Gold is at least above average I would say, but as I found out power spikes caused system to shutdown. I was not able to run Time Spy or FireStrike at stock settings. Had no issues before that with RX6800+5950X OC'ed. I was very surprised to find out PSU is not enough even on stock settings.

Small off-topic: Is it even possible to reach 19K+ CPU score in Time Spy with 5950X/FCLK 1800? Every result I saw which is 19K+ was set on FCLK 1900+ and unfortunately my CPU is not capable of that

You might have the 1900 Fclk hole. Try higher than 1900 -- it should boot. But check for WHEAs.

Hello everyone, nice to be here.

I downloaded the program earlier for my Powercolor 6900XTU liquid Devil Ultimate. I modded the 3 numbers per the instructions, to move the slider scale of power consumption. At first I was very pleased my max went from around 385-440W at the 15% AMD driver limit. However, I need just a little bit more power. I tried going right back in and increasing the wattage, but the numbers did not change at all. Those numbers reflect a 45% increase over standard. I don't know if there is a process to overwrite,I did hit delete sppt/write SPPT. I have masssive cooling so I'm not concerned at all with overheating. Did I hit the limit of SPPT? Thanks!

Watts = volts x amperes. That means you have to increase either voltage or amperage or both to get more power.

If the bottom two are in amperes and the top is in watts, what are you getting at? if your multiplying two larger numbers, they would increase the end result; by definition, more volts and/or amperes meens more watts. Here's the original values.

OK I found it. In the MPTool, on the first tab, hit load the standard bios, then select from the drop down your gpu. This will select where to write to and give a successfully added, once written. I'm now getting around 550Wpk. Very nice!

Hi RDNA2 owners. :)
It's been a while since I was here.
I wish you all Happy New year.

I started a project since September that I never completed due to a very sad situation in family.
I was rebuilding my PC with external radiator Mo-Ra and changing from 6900XT Liquid Devil Ultimate to 6900XT OC Formula liquid cooled.
Now this has been completed in Christmas time. :D

Here is the beast during benchmarking run with Mo-Ra sitting outside at balcony where it was 0°C.

Now the big the interesting stuff.

Look at the score in Time spy. :D

I can't share the settings as I got help from Devcom at Hardwareluxx forum to achieve this 1st place worldwide.

So settings are copyright of Devcom.

Ok, played some more with low power tuning on my 6800XT, and behold, its now using 80w at 3440x1440@60hz
This is totally indecent for such a powerful GPU :D

Hey what Game is that ?

I would like to test my 6600XT on my UW 3440/1440p to see how much power needed to achieve 60fps

for the sake of science lol) but assuming I would like to buy this Game to also play it ah ah

Skyrim Special Edition with a lot of graphic mods, making it relatively heavy on the GPU compared to what it originally is :)
The fact that I have a lot of mods would make it difficult for a 100% equal comparison. But for the sake of science, a thing that is relatively easy to compare is how much power is needed for lets say Cyberpunk maxxed out at 3440x1440@60fps, for that and the latest tuning I need ~135w to keep it just above 60fps. Only setting that is not maxxed out is Screen Space Reflections, that's on High only, and all Blur and DOF crap is turned off. Everything else max possible, no RT of any kind.

You know, I wonder if anyone's gonna get the RX 6500 XT, and join this club, I hope he or she does, because I happen to think it's a great budget card (can be had for 200 to 270USD according to newegg) which is able to do what it was intended to do (on a PCIe 4.0 mobo). That is, to play games at reasonable graphics settings (no HD texture packs, no 'Ultra') like a mix of Low to Mid to High settings depending on the game, and still net playable and smooth framerate at 1080P and at no higher resolutions than that. I'd said the price was good, given these days of chip shortage and other factors, because at 200-270USD, it outperforms the GTX 1650 and is cheaper, heck, it's even cheaper than the crappy GTX 1050 Ti (newegg, for 300USD and higher).
