You'll probably find this page useful:
If I were you, I'd either throw in a GPU and turn it into a gaming rig or leave it as-is and install Linux.

Thx, I bought the Phenom x4 9850 and give it a try :peace:
For a video card i found a 660TI also...didn't buy that yet.

And found a good 425W PSU with 2x PEG6 in my collection. I hope that is enough?

IBM are insane, the build quality of the Model F is even more insane compared to Model M PS/2 ones... These fkers weight about 4 kilos lmao. Even the original box for them is well made, you can tell when you touch one, all made in UK too, not China, no Mexico... There are USA made models, but so far i had few made in USA Model Ms, could not see difference to the UK made ones... The Model M13 stealth black that i still look for (same with the Model M Gen 0 metal badge industrial gray), was made by Maxi Switch Mexico, that sucks, as their build quality is not very good sadly, but still the keyboard is all in black Model M, as is annoying that 97% of all vintage well made keyboards such as NorthGate Omnikey, IBM F/M even Beam springs, Zenith Data Systems, NMB Tech, Cherry and others, are all white or elephant horn color....

Only will need to replace the caps, as i dont like these letters much, also not sure if these are QWERTY or other standard. The layout is also annoying of the Model F, but once i get my hands on the Tinkerboy DIN 45322 to USB converter i will be able to use them on normal PC, but i think the layout will piss me off prob, is the one thing that did always annoy me about Model Fs, Model M was the the thing that did bring the 101 standard we are using ever since, and XT design is crap.. But still Model F is the ultimate keyboard even with that B$...

Also Model M122, also build very well, not as good as the F, but in league of its own...

Also few Model M PS/2, always fun to see these. I still like my NMB RT101+ more then Model F or M, but the IBM keyboards also have special place in my collection too....

Now left to finds premium ALPS keyboard such as NorthGate Omnikey or at least Zenith ones...

Had a Model M ~1995. Couldn't save it because some monkey ripped the cable off it it wasn't detachable) and the traces on the PCB were brittle due to age (and whatever type of material was used... it wasn't FR4 type)

So I was just in the area. Rooting around the trash like an asian trash panda and came across this beauty....

All I can tell is that it's a P10 running XP and an P4.

Unfortunately the guy who threw it out didnt include the charger but had all the paperwork and and what looks to be a wireless Lan pcmcia or whatever them add in cards used to be called from that era made by Creative. The card looks brand new but this laptop is abused. The charge port is all kinds of FUBAR. Cracks on the body and the bezels of the screen everywhere. Its not had an easy life.

Apparently some of these P10s used to run ATi Mobility Radeons. The XTC1700 model had an MR7500

I cant make out which model and spec this laptop is. It just says P10

::edit::

Quick autopsy shows it had 512mb RAM so it was a higher end model. Lower end units came with 256.

:::edit III:::

The plastic on this thing is super brittle. Its completely falling apart in my lap

::::edit V::::
Identified as the P10C XTC 2000. ATI Radeon 9000 and all

Could use some TLC, but yeah, that a beauty!

Plastics are all brittle and crumbling away in my hands. I don't think there was any chance of bringing this one back to a collectable condition.

I'd say it's definitely save-able. I have an Advent 5480DVD in my lap that's quite worse than what yours looks like and needs quite some work. Same platform as my Geritec (Gericom) 1230i (Uniwill N340) except this one does not support Tualatins, whereas the Gericom does.

Fun fact: Gericom has a XP COA, the Advent, while being an 99% 1:1 copy of Gericom, has a WinME COA. Noice.
