Unofficial 12V-2x6V Power Connector Melts NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090

yeah they need to improve the aera of connection too and those cylindric system are always a pain in the a***
perhaps one day we are gonna have plug with screw to tighten plugs

Der8auer got the card & cable & PSU.
Observed and compared the results with his own 5090.
Finds out there are 2 wires carrying 20A in stress testing. (Other wires carried ~5A)
It makes those 2 wires extremely hot and dangerous.

Skip to 13:06 for the important stuff, video is padded out a lot.

The 12V-2x6 plug works already. The only problem is there is a lot of the 12VHPWR cables still out there. Even Der8auer stated all his test setup is 12VHPWR. Those should all be recalled.

There is no difference between the 12V-2x6 and 12VHPWR standards when it comes to cables according to https://www.corsair.com/us/en/explo...nits/will-my-12vhpwr-cable-work-with-12v-2x6/ . If there are any differences between a manufacturer's 12V-2x6 and 12VHPWR cables other than labeling, names, and part numbers, then either the manufacturer is possibly admitting that its 12VHPWR cables are garbage because it cut down the quality of the 12VHPWR cables to be just good enough for an RTX 4090 and is not good enough for an RTX 5090 because the RTX 5090 draws more amps and therefore demands more of the cable than what an RTX 4090 demands.
