I will look at it as soon as possible, after paying £60 why not. I do reckon there will be some quick patchwork though lol
This is why I like Game Pass, instead of shelling out $60 for a game I may not get hooked on.
Talking of which, Quake II is highly addictive. Remember this part? - "Make it stop, let me out..."

SYNTHETIK is my new fix, basically a roguelike but with lots of guns and even more robot murder. I couldn't stand Enter the Gungeon but for some reason love SYNTHETIK. This review by one of my favourite YouTubers (warning, NSFW) explains it pretty well:

When that Gane is $10 or less I might pull the trigger.

Quake 2 with the recent update, excellent and having a great time with it. Quake and Quake 2 have been handled really well IMHO. Which is great because I hold both titles dearly, and appreciate I can enjoy both on modern systems with zero fuss or issues. I'm hooked.

Also been playing some Distant Worlds 2 as I finally picked that up. Gotta say, I really like what they did. DW:U was a fun sim/game, but there were so many quirks, and the UI was horrible especially on smaller laptop screens. So far, so good. I chose DW2 over GalCiv 4's latest standalone expansion. I invested in GalCiv4's release on Epic last year or the year before, and while it was fun...it wasn't quite fun enough to hook me. Kinda like GC3 in the early days before the Crusade DLC in 2017 changed so much and made it fun (IMHO). I'll wait and see. Same for Sins of a Solar Empire 2.... I love me some SOASE, but I'll wait until its further along in the oven or released. Anyone else playing or enjoying DW2?

Also re-installed Fallout 3, NV, and 4. I never really played thru 4, got pretty far in NV, and have beat 3 a few times. Debating how I want to handle them moving forward lol. Trying to resist paying full price for Starfield just yet, I'm very excited for it...but last thing I need right now. I figure I'll at least play thru FO4 before I make any purchasing decisions. I've also yet to get too far into No Man's Sky or Everspace 2...so there's that too lol.

tried out grim dawn for the first time in 16 months. Had a bunch of missions, couldn't remember where or how to do them or how to play lol So just went and hack n slash a bit then shuter down.

I find the mission location system is crap compared to games like Borderlands, which you can select any mission you want, puts a giant diamond on your map, and one on the HUD.

Give Grim Dawn a better chance, devote yourself to it, and it all clicks. You're looking at the bestest Diablo 2 successor on the planet here, don't waste it. On-and-off playing doesn't work for sure.

Well with 2 kids and a shift working wife and taking care of all home and vehicle maintenance among other things it’s just the way it is. Maybe they need to add time levels like difficulty levels :)
Dad time mode only main missions and 4x exp. :)

Just putting all the enchantment stuff in the bank inventory helps a lot. Same with all the set armor that you can fit and smaller items like rings/amulets. You're still a bit overly limited on inventory space w/o mods, but it helps a lot. Eventually you build up a nice pile of stuff if you've played through the game on a few characters especially and it just gets easier and easier over time on future power thru's of the campaign and leveling up. The item enchantments help a great deal.

Also defiantly hit up those devotion shrines and you get more shrines to unlock for different difficulties as well to get more devotion points. The latter difficulties are harder to naturally, but that's as it should be. The game is super flexible and not over difficult once you get into it a bit. If you've got some questions ask. Any build is flexible AF in that game. I got about 40 different characters in it with different themed builds it's a really entertaining build theory craft game.

BG3 has eaten my life.

The sheer freedom is amazing, any story line or character you don't like you can just kill everyone, loot their corpses, turn into zombies and throw them at someone else you were meant to party up with.
And the game doesn't punish you - it often rewards you or has backup options like the undead minions to make sure you can get by regardless of what HORRIBLE HORRIBLE THINGS YOU'VE DONE.

I can't even post screenshots cause a nude elf with tig bitties pushing kids off cliffs isn't forum material.

Does the writing make sense? Is it "lol do what you want no one cares" (which is bad) or is it "total freedom, but with appropriate repercussions in the world" (which is good)? No spoilers plz.

There are repercussions but the game makes it so you can still keep playing even if you get 99% of the main cast killed and the side cast, and the random unrelated people.

You aren't punished for not siding with the first good guys you meet, if that makes sense. No forced storyline with pretend choices, you could go murder them and when you meet their enemies there'll be a dialog option of "hey killed them, we cool now?"
And then you can fill their base with explosive barrels and kill THEM, too.

Then much later in a new location those people will have voice lines (Usually that sexy voiced narrator) about how you wiped out A B C and D, and they respond differently to you based on that.

These tiktoks of the narrator herself posting her bloopers really sum up what it feels like sometimes playing.
Amelia Tyler (@theameliatyler) | TikTok

They get better as you go in (four out so far)

Coop was amazing, joined a friends game, stripped off naked and flashed elf tits into her super serious dialogs
"Help the goblins are eating our babies!"
"... what? I was looking at my friend stripping off behind you, stealing your shit"

MS painted my way past 18+ into PG
Holding someones crushed brains, friend was screaming into the mic "WHAT THE ACTUAL F************************CK?!??"

Cool thanks.

So it’s like GTA before cars?? Lol

I had to check on Steam to see what BG3 is, especially since I'd never heard of a party based RPG :D
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a story-rich, party-based RPG set in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons, where your choices shape a tale of fellowship and betrayal, survival and sacrifice, and the lure of absolute power.

Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age, Planescape: Torment, Arcanum, Knights of the Old Republic are all examples, not to mention all those JRPGs. Torment: Tides of Numenara, Wasteland... Fallout 1/2 probably doesn't exactly count, but Mass Effect probably does. Outer Worlds maybe too.
