Yep, one end is C, the other is A. One of the reasons I got this one exactly.

aghh damn it! Why didn't i think of that. Not long ago I bought another C stick to add to the collection of C's and when needed occasionally runs with a separate tiny ~A adapter or couple of multiple-port Hubs. Would have appreciated a 2-in-1 solution for convenience. I bet they've been around for some time and i've been too lazy to uncover them.

$32 sounds like a treat! Build quality? Material? Did it come with feet or is it a flat sitting bottom intake choker?

I've got a similar one tagged for some time on Aliexpress for a "hopefully one day portable build" although i'd fancy a smaller ITX in a similar fashioned case (then again i've got a ton of stuff tagged which i never end up buying - a window shopper at best!) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001878905070.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.9.6ea9DTW7DTW7gv&algo_pvid=e59c2588-6bdb-4911-a5d7-2e6b593bef88&algo_exp_id=e59c2588-6bdb-4911-a5d7-2e6b593bef88-4&pdp_npi=4@dis!GBP!89.48!89.48!!!814.18!814.18!@210384b917207274547543638ec9de!12000039794067137!sea!GB!0!AB&curPageLogUid=8eutaw9NGvJO&utparam-url=scene:search|query_from:

I was window shopping for a very compact mATX (on my continuing quest to downsize my home server) case since the Thermaltake Core G3 is no longer available and I missed my opportunity to snag one from amazon last year. I was looking at this alternative but I have the smaller ITX sibling and wasn't too happy with the noise from using a 1U PSU.

This Abit i8 case came with the feet I just haven't assembled anything yet. Feels like steel. One of the screws has a bit of corrosion. I had a hard time finding any info on the case. Came in what looks like an original box but it could possibly be a knockoff and they slapped on a defunct logo of the dead company? :slap: The quality seems good though. Surprisingly the front panel USBC is actually from USB3 header - never saw that before. (Abit died in 2009 according to wiki and USB-C came out some years after that.) Found something similar here but it's also not available. This looked like it fits a full size ATX PSU will try it soon to verify. If not it should fit my HDPlex 500w-GAN which needs a home.

Galaxy Watch Ultra and Buds3 Pro

Will be replacing my Buds Pro which are excellent. They'll go to my mum after I fit new silicon buds to them.

Watch is for my Dad as he is a surfer and has a health condition. If its good I'll probably get one for myself eventually.

Screenshot_20240711-211714_Samsung Shop_20240711_211730990_20240711_212813502.jpg

Quite impressed they fit an 86 decibel siren in the watch, along with LTE and some kind of dual GPS.

The SoC is quite good too on 3nm.

Apparently up to 100 hrs battery but more like two days I'd imagine unless used sparingly. 10 ATM water resistance is nice, as is sapphire/titanium materials.

Anyway I'm pleased that my dad will be able to call emergency services from his wrist, no need for a phone.

c

check out the JBL Live Pro or the new live beam ones.

i liked them better than the samsung ones when i was looking for a pair of buds. Im still using the live pro 2.
I am aware there're other awesome buds but I specifically chose the Buds 3 Pro for the AI functionality, like 'Live' Interpreter. And as I'd mentioned, that is has a dynamic + planar drivers is intriguing to me.

nice. i do like the blade design more than the other one. I didnt go for buds primarily because they dont fit well into my motorcycle helmet (it has cut outs/space for headphones inside already)

The JBL ones do so nicely

Like late guest mighty G2 Standard arrived to complete my almost two years old rig. To be honest I have this cooler for a week, but in the meantime happened to break one fan's blade when testing it outside the case. Sad thing with 40$ fan or to be precise offset speed one they sell only in 2-packs costing 80$ :] Not a reason to cry for me and innattention deserves punishment, but I told my case Noctua and asked if they could sell me just one. They replied they will send me replacement free of charge, so there's another story of legendary Noctua's customer service (EDIT: To be clear the fan is in fact already here, came well packed yesterday and works flawlessly, all from the start took five business days). G2 itself is simply great at whatever you could look at, can't have complaints, but of course it's price makes it just for ones willing to pay for this complete superiority. Blue-green-yellow-black wires intentionally in your face - this is how you do things in non-windowed case for your convenience or to avoid potential acoustic anomalies from cable obstructing fan airflow. Not that I'm one of those disgusting people not keeping their cable management at least not PITA and functional:

Time to replace the rest of those fans with G2 :D

Also might want to give that case a clean lots of dust.

Time to replace the rest of those fans with G2 :D

Also might want to give that case a clean lots of dust.

I'll wait for square ones and then of course confront them with my trio of Kaze Flex 140 (KF1425FD12S-P). KF cool well and - what's here most important - sound nicely, so I can't complain. But I tried Noctuas from G2 outside the case, unobstructed, and they are promising: sound nicely across whole speed range; you just can't hear bearing or motor without sticking your ear and there're no anomalies (like e.g. Arctic P whistling). All three are my conditions making fans worth trying in the case or sending away from me. And there's Aris with his performance review on HWBusters. We can be pretty sure KF can't win, but to me it's always pleasant acoustics first and cases with their restrictions happen here surprising.

About dust, imo not that bad and last time I cleaned here for Christmas, but recently decided I should move my annual pc cleaning to summer. It just makes more sense for few reasons. Honestly it looks the same after quarter or a year - there are no even pieces of dust, not even mentioning layer, but smallest particles man can see, so it's totally safe for components and far from it accumulating inside heatsinks or affecting performance. My take is it's fine until compressed air is able to handle anything. I clean front and bottom filter once a month, though. Only these side inlets look nasty, but it's mostly matter of the photo and I hoover them maybe once a quarter.

I'm not really a sim racer but gave in to a long-cherished wish and got myself a Logitech G29 (Boys will be boys, no matter how old they are ;))

g29.jpg

In a long gone era I once had an 'el cheapo' steering wheel without force feedback and connected to the desk with suction cups which 'sucked', in the meaning of always coming loose in the heat of a game .
After that demotivating experience I gave up on steering wheels for quite some years. But the itch never disappeared and last week when I started a session of DiRT Rally I thought, why the hell not lets's give it another chance. After some ample research I decided for the Logitech G29 which came out a lot of reviews as a good beginners option with a high score on value for money (purchase price atm € 245).

Installed the G29 today and gave it a go with Need for speed, DiRT Rally and Assetto Corsa. Wow, soo much better than driving with a keyboard .
Looking forward to some nice hours of sim racing after tweaking all the settings to my liking.

This Corsair product was a fail (fan and mounting) and is being replaced with

this much improved mounting but now I've got to get a USBC extender because the case USBC cable is too fat right next to the standoff. Air based ram cooling done right.

Bought a headband cover for my Creative SXFI Theater, I've not used it for a pretty long time due to the crappy pleather flaked to hell, it was basically disintegrating before my eyes. It was a tight squeeze, but I managed to stretch the headband cover to wrap nicely around the headband.

In this pic below, I'd gotten a pair of sheepskin earpads to replace the original earpads, which was disintegrating in little flake like pieces as well. I'd ordered the earpads for the wrong model, the earpads were of the wrong shape, but fortunately it fit as well, with a little effort on my part...

The pic below is with the right earpads, a pair of velour ones, note the shape compared to the top ones, fits perfectly....am keeping the the sheepskin ones as well since they fit the SXFI Theater as well

My plate for my new desk came. Now i try to move it. Great thing. I'm sitting in a wheel chair and the weight of the plate is around 60kg/132,27lbs. Also the plate is really small. 2m/6,56ft long, 75cm/2,46ft wide and a height of 2 Inches. I really don't know which donkey rode me. But hey one can dance on the plate and it doesn't bend.
