Any good?

I have tested it with tosti/sandwich, took a while to warmup, I believe it's only 750W but the result was good.

Haven't made any waffles yet though.

It's a keeper. :)

A tad weak power wise, unless it has a better kind of heating elements.
The one we have in Taiwan is 900 W.
A typical waffle iron in Sweden is 1000 W, which makes me a bit worried about how long the Philips will take to toast something.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
looking very good ... well carbon and magnesium alloy look nice ... tho one minor grip (two actually) QWERTY (minor ... it could be, the absolute horror, AZERTY instead) and the "inferior" (lol, peasants ...) ANSI enter key... also minor since i used for some time a GMMK which was also ANSI layout, other than that, very light, thin, comfortable to type on keyboard

already swapped for the Ether keycaps, and i am pleasantly surprised with the typing feeling of the Kailh POM switches ... LP mech ... sure wasn't a thing i expected to like ... (i even prefer full height switches for custom flatbox instead of Kailh Choc 2.0 or Cherry ULP )
20240731_210859.jpg
20240731_213131.jpg20240731_211920.jpg

the carbon kickstand is really nice (i love anything carbon fiber  ) and @VSG they bundle the keycaps puller with the keycaps set it seems ;)
20240731_210906.jpg20240731_211908.jpg

just checked the official website ... retail price is indeed 249$ for the keyboard, 59$ for the keycaps so, 308$ o_O
after checking the conversion rate ... i paid in total including shipping ~185$ eh... well, not regretting one bit getting into that kickstarter

I got annoyed by my own creation, as it was unstable and ugly.. I'm talking about the monitor stand.
So me bought the one from GT Omega, which is WAY more stable, MUCH easier to use, and it's black.

I'll reuse the 2040's for an upcoming project that I always wanted to make.

Are you going to be working on BMW?
Nope. I really want to place my desk on the feet. Right now it lays upside down. The weight of the desk is a bit higher. a 5cm/2in massive wooden plate (200x75cm) and O formed steel feet. That adds to a weight of nearby 90kg. If one is sitting in a wheel chair (like i do) that could be a real problem. So i thought about the problem i faced.

How to lift something heavy without using a lot of muscles. I got to the idea that i need a kind of crane that i can move around. That i can place below the table plate so that nothing is falling aside and smashes things. And, with a logical approach of placing the holding stripes, to get the taable turned around by 90°. The only real logical solution was a engine lift. Thats all. ;) I have to say that i didn't thoink about the weight of the crane. It's about 80 kg.But it is foldable and so don't use too much space in the cellar. It came today. In three boxes...

I'm handicapped. Yes. But that doesn't mean that i'm helpless. I always on the search for ways my handicap doesn't matter.

Got: Corsair SF850F Power Supply, Powercolor Radeon 7900 GRE 16GB (Hellhound), Thermalright AXP120-X67 and a Thermalright AM5 Frame v2.

Since some of the graphics card prices are still floating higher than expected, besides not finding any good deals in the past and my graphics card being viable for a decent upgrade at this point, and the upcoming Ryzen 9000 series on the way soon. I've been gathering some replacements for my current build in anticipation in moving from my AM4 platform.

I'm retiring the EVGA RTX 2080 XC Ultra (Used 1080Ti's were at similar prices around £600 at the time, so I simply went with what was newer and hoping I didn't get one from the bad batches that had screen artifacts, mine did get a few occasions where they happened but after a driver update they simply disappeared forever), it's still capable with games that I currently play, but I know the new Unreal Engine titles and various other games are already pushing the VRAM limits even at lower quality presets. I couldn't just go with a GPU with less than 16GB of VRAM, not in this day and age. Anyway, I'm happy it lasted as long as it did on 1440p Ultrawide. The best part about the 7900 GRE is that I'm theoretically doubling raster performance which is what I want.

The 7900 GRE was £525 including shipping from US, felt like a steal, considering most UK vendors are still trying to sell these cards for £100 more. It didn't even take that long to ship it here. The two Powercolor variants are selling out fast. Including the ones for the 7900XT.

I nearly got an AM5 ITX motherboard paired with a Ryzen 7800X3D, but just in case I'm waiting for the new CPU benchmarks, and if 7800X3D just happens to be very close to the 9700X in gaming, I'm not sure which one I'll consider. The motherboard releases are another matter, I want to see if B650E chipset board will still be the best pick for me. I'm interested to see how many SATA/USB ports are retained and if the VRM gets any changes on the new ITX boards.

Did want the Sapphire Nitro but it's out of stock or silly prices, So the Powercolor Red Devil will have to do... Love the red and black too 7900 GRE in case someone thinks it's an XTX or summat

You dont need the contact frame if youre running with AM5. With Intel 13th and 14th gen you do but not with AM5 due to how all the dies and CCDs are laid out undeath so there isnt as much unevenness or flex to it that gets exacerbated when you clamp your heatsink down on it.

GamersNexus made a video about it here.

::EDIT::

Adding some more anecdotal evidence

I agree that one doesn't NEED a frame for AM5, but doesn't it also help with eliminating thermal paste spillage over the SMD components?

You dont need the contact frame if youre running with AM5. With Intel 13th and 14th gen you do but not with AM5 due to how all the dies and CCDs are laid out undeath so there isnt as much unevenness or flex to it that gets exacerbated when you clamp your heatsink down on it.

GamersNexus made a video about it here.

I understand, that is good to know. Because in the past I was unsure when some of the AM4 socket coolers I've used had types of screws that were seemingly short and required worrying amounts of torque to have most of the contact with the copper plate on the air coolers.

I agree that one doesn't NEED a frame for AM5, but doesn't it also help with eliminating thermal paste spillage over the SMD components?
This also kinda sold me on it, because there's been a lot of times the thermal paste goes over the sides after pressure has been applied and it takes more time and care to clean off. And now with the SMD components exposed, it makes more sense for me to prevent thermal paste going on those.

then you are using too much paste and If you are using liquid metal. You either used too much or you should be switching over to PTM.

Ive built machines from as far back as Intel 386 SX and DX. not having a contact frame was ever a problem.

In any case, a lot of the top tier thermal pastes are non-conductive.

After i got the engine crane yesterday i did want to build it up. But i had no chance. They use sille M16 Screws. I have no tools to fix them. So i had to order them today.

I mean, around here in Brazil we call it an English wrench, and at a work situation someone would just ask "hand me the English".

A lot of people mistake it with French key in Polish, but the correct technical name is also English key in Polish, btw:

Except what you call English was invented by the same guy that did the two you call Swedish. Admittedly it was based on an earlier British design, but he vastly improved it.
The founder of what became Bahco, who is now owned by a US tool company, who decided it was cheaper to make the tools in xina...
