Fair question, I assume there is a price premium for modular and I'd rather put the money elsewhere.
More points of failure?
The price premium is aftermarket cables (consumer market) and the fact it is cheaper to make a cable on an industrial scale than it is build them into a unit on site.
The two options here are face up to what is currently in the Western retail sector or about face and delve into the world of Asian online sites with their opaque supply channels.
Option 1.x.x is find a workstation PSU you as an individual can attain and modify it to purpose as required.
