The FireGL V7300 was an enthusiast-class professional graphics card by ATI, launched on October 1st, 2005. Built on the 90 nm process, and based on the R520 graphics processor, in its R520 GL variant, the card supports DirectX 9.0c. Since FireGL V7300 does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The R520 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 288 mm² and 312 million transistors. It features 16 pixel shaders and 8 vertex shaders, 16 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). ATI has paired 512 MB GDDR3 memory with the FireGL V7300, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 594 MHz, memory is running at 648 MHz.
Being a dual-slot card, the ATI FireGL V7300 draws power from 1x 6-pin power connector, with power draw rated at 97 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x S-Video. FireGL V7300 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 1.0 x16 interface. The card measures 229 mm in length, 111 mm in width, and features a dual-slot cooling solution. Its price at launch was 1599 US Dollars.
