The FirePro W5100 was a professional graphics card by AMD, launched on March 31st, 2014. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the Bonaire graphics processor, in its Bonaire PRO GL variant, the card supports DirectX 12. The Bonaire graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 160 mm² and 2,080 million transistors. Unlike the fully unlocked Radeon HD 7790, which uses the same GPU but has all 896 shaders enabled, AMD has disabled some shading units on the FirePro W5100 to reach the product's target shader count. It features 768 shading units, 48 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. AMD has paired 4 GB GDDR5 memory with the FirePro W5100, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 930 MHz, memory is running at 1500 MHz (6 Gbps effective). Being a single-slot card, the AMD FirePro W5100 does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is rated at 50 W maximum. Display outputs include: 4x DisplayPort 1.2. FirePro W5100 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 interface. The card measures 173 mm in length, 111 mm in width, and features a single-slot cooling solution.
