The Radeon RX 7800M is a mobile graphics chip by AMD, launched on September 11th, 2024. Built on the 5 nm process, and based on the Navi 32 graphics processor, in its Navi 32 XT variant, the chip supports DirectX 12 Ultimate. This ensures that all modern games will run on Radeon RX 7800M. Additionally, the DirectX 12 Ultimate capability guarantees support for hardware-raytracing, variable-rate shading and more, in upcoming video games. The Navi 32 graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 346 mm² and 28,100 million transistors. It features 3840 shading units, 240 texture mapping units, and 96 ROPs. The card also has 60 raytracing acceleration cores. AMD has paired 12 GB GDDR6 memory with the Radeon RX 7800M, which are connected using a 192-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 1295 MHz, which can be boosted up to 2335 MHz, memory is running at 2250 MHz (18 Gbps effective).
Its power draw is rated at 180 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device. Radeon RX 7800M is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 4.0 x16 interface.
