The Mobility FireGL V5700 was a professional mobile graphics chip by ATI, launched on January 7th, 2008. Built on the 55 nm process, and based on the M86 graphics processor, in its M86-M GL variant, the chip supports DirectX 10.1. Since Mobility FireGL V5700 does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The M86 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 135 mm² and 378 million transistors. It features 120 shading units, 8 texture mapping units, and 4 ROPs. ATI has paired 512 MB GDDR3 memory with the Mobility FireGL V5700, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 600 MHz, memory is running at 700 MHz.
Its power draw is not exactly known. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device. Mobility FireGL V5700 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface.
