First debuted during the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January, ASUSTeK's Eee keyboard is now said to ship sometime by the end of June. According to Engadget Chinese the keyboard/PC combo will ship in June with specs that should include an Intel Atom N270 processor, a 32 GB solid-state drive, 800x480 pixel touchscreen display that doubles as a trackpad, 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth, HDMI-out, stereo speakers and a mic. The keyboard PC is running Microsoft Windows XP as standard. Two versions of the ASUS Eee keyboard will be launched, a wired one that will carry a $400 price tag, and a wireless one that will bump the price to $600. Expect more detailed information next month.

DisplayLink Corp. today celebrated reaching sales of more than one million USB graphics semiconductors. Embedded in more than thirty consumer and business products, DisplayLink chips - the DL-120 and DL-160 - make it possible for people to connect various visual computing devices to displays with an easy USB connection.

ASUS today launched the Xonar DS 7.1 channel audio card which is equipped with design features found only on high-end audio equipment, fully catering to audiophiles seeking to enjoy high fidelity audio on their PCs-across all forms of entertainment including music, movies and games.

The Xonar DS boasts 107dB SNR, which is 12 times clearer than most onboard audio solutions. By eliminating 91% of background noise, the Xonar DS lets gamers hear every detail in the game audio, allowing them to locate enemies from a distance and thus giving them the edge in their games. This noise elimination also leads to a more enjoyable movie watching and music listening experience.

The ASUS Republic of Gamers (R.O.G) OC Station first surfaced at the CES event earlier this year, where it was referred to as G-Panel. Heading towards a gala Computex launch, perhaps along with the recently pictured Crosshair III Formula, the OC Station represents the company's attempts to woo the professional overclocker with a hardware OC management device.

The ROG OC Station is a device that features controls for the system's overclocking on the fly, along with various temperature, voltage, and fan speed control/monitoring added to the mix. As a fan controller, the OC station provides output to four fans. The device connects to the ROG series motherboard and provides "hardware-based OC", meaning that it isn't merely a human-interface extension for a software running on the OS. Controls are care of three buttons along with a rotary switch, while a TFT-LCD screen keeps the user posted about clock-speeds, voltages, fan-speeds and temperatures, which might help when the system's display is busy running a 3D benchmark. The device can be used on the desk, where it's front panel moves along a hinge, for better user orientation, or its 2U size can occupy two 5.25-inch drive bays on a PC case.

ASUS finally got generous with AMD enthusiasts seeking an avant-grade Republic of Gamers motherboard to drive the AMD Dragon platform. Enter Crosshair III. Traditionally, ASUS used the Crosshair name for high-end AMD motherboards based on NVIDIA nForce chipsets, but this time around, it will be using AMD's workhorse high-end desktop chipset: AMD 790FX coupled with SB750. The choice could have been influenced by two factors: reasonable demand for ATI Radeon graphics, and the Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC) feature vendors haven't been able to ship with nForce chipsets so far.

An 8+2 phase circuit powers the AM3 socket, which supports the latest processors from AMD, that support DDR3 memory. "Only" two PCI-Express x16 slots are provided, that support ATI CrossFireX. Other feature include ROG-exclusive LCD-poster, and the iROG overclocking management system. Audio is care of an ASUS SupremeFX X-Fi audio riser. While the board just may seem a little basic compared to the M4A79T Deluxe, you have to consider the fact that it carries the "Formula" sub-branding. If ASUS wants to sell a better board, there just could be a Crosshair III Extreme in the works. ASUS may use the upcoming Computex event to launch this. It is expected to be priced around US $200.

ASUS today proved that TV quality and CPU bandwidth do not have to be trade-offs with the launch of its new ASUS My Cinema-EHD3-100/NAQ/FM/AV/MCE RC PCI-express Dual TV card. ASUS gave the Eee PC 1002H a makeover coupled with a faster processor. The new model, 1002HAE comes in shades of deep-blue and red. It comes with a stylish aluminum skin. Under the hood is the faster Intel Atom N280 CPU clocked at 1.6 GHz, wireless networking with 802.11b/g/n, 1 GB of system memory, 160 GB of storage, 10-inch 1024x600 LED backlit display, 3.8-hour Lithium ion battery, and a 1.3 MP embedded web-camera. At the moment this model is exclusive to Japan, where it is priced at ¥49,800 (around $506).

A whole fleet of ASUS U Series laptops was launched today, ranging from the tiny 12.1-inch U20A to the well speced U80V. All in all seven laptops were introduced - U20A, U80V, U50G, U81A, U51Vg, UX50V, and UX30. Each one of them comes with a different screen size, a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Solo processors, graphics options from NVIDIA and Intel, and various HDD sizes. The U series laptops come with Altec Lansing speakers and also integrate light sensor, which adjusts the brightness of the screen, as well as the backlighting of both the illuminated keyboard and interactive touchpad. Lastly, the U/UX portables also incorporate Express Gate which can boot preinstalled Linux-based operating system right after the system boot screen and before your main OS is loaded. There is a new X58 "SuperComputer" motherboard, this time not from ASRock, but from ASUS. The company is ready with a new LGA-1366 single-socket workstation motherboard that concentrates quite heavily on its PCI-Express expansion slots. THe motherboard packs seven full-length PCI-Express slots. To support these, ASUS used a clever design: two 16-lane PCI-Express channels from the X58 northbridge provide connectivity to an NVIDIA nForce 200 (BR-03) chip each. Each of these chips in turn broadcast the connection to two PCI-E 2.0 x16 slots (blue slots). The blue slots with a neighbouring black slot further have PCI-E switching logic that can divert 8 lanes to the black PCI-E x16 slots, when populated. As a result, it has seven slots worked out in all. The board supports ATI CrossFireX and NVIDIA SLI.

A large heatsink cools the lower cluster of chips that include the board's ICH10R southbridge, and the two nForce 200 chips. Heatpipes distribute heat to an elaborate array of heatsinks over the northbridge and the board's VRM areas. The board features six DDR3 memory slots for supporting up to 24 GB of memory. Storage is care of the southbridge and an additional controller to provide extra internal SATA ports along with the eSATA connectivity. 8-channel audio, and two gigabit Ethernet controllers, and an ASUS-exclusive system diagnostics card make for the rest of the equation. The P6T7 SuperComputer is yet to hit stores.

Barely 24 hours into the launch of the Radeon HD 4770, ASUS has announced its factory-overclocked, and overclocker-friendly variant of the ATI Radeon HD 4770 (model: EAH4770 TOP/HTDI/512MD5). Giving it the "TOP" branding, the company upped the clock speeds, and backed the product with its Voltage Tweak technology, and its popular SmartDoctor performance control application. The gains end-users have compared to using a reference design accelerator are two fold.

First, ASUS set the clock speeds at 800 MHz (core), and 850 MHz (memory), both 50 MHz bumps over the reference AMD clock speeds of 750/800 MHz (core/memory). Second, using the value-added features, the voltages can be upped from 0.95 V to 1.2 V, increasing the overclocking headroom. ASUS claims the core could be set at freqencies as high as 971 MHz, and 1150 MHz for the memory: a seemingly massive increment over the reference speeds, which ASUS rounds off as a 35% speed improvement. The card retains the reference AMD design, and the most common cooler design partners are currently using. Its pricing and availability are yet to be known.

ASUS today also presents two new power supply units - the 1 kW G-1000HA and the 850 W G-850HA. With 80 PLUS certification, Active PFC and a MTBF of more than 500,000 hours, both PSUs settle among the best in its class power supplies that deliver just the right amount of power when and where your PC needs it. The G PSUs make use of Japan-made capacitors that provide enhanced stability. More over they come with a silent 13.5cm ball-bearing fan and modular cables that are sleeved to ensure better ventilation and looks inside the case. The G Series are also Intel ATX12V Version 2.31 compliant, and provide 5 dedicated 12V rails. Both PSUs ship with enough external power leads for video cards. The 1 kW model comes with a total of six 6+2-pin PCI-Express 2.0 connectors, while the 850 W has four of them. The new ASUS G Series PSUs should be out selling very soon.

ASUS today releases the ASUS Express TV Stick for high quality digital (DVBT) and analog TV signal reception. This stick offers complete TV solution for the PC, even for absolute beginners. By simply inserting it into a high-speed USB 2.0 port, the stick will do everything alone - from installing its drivers for the appropriate OS, to installing the needed software that enables viewing or recording digital or analog TV programs. That's possible due to the embedded 4 GB memory that keeps all the necessary software and drivers. This memory also allows the stick to be used as common USB flash storage media. Towards the end of March, we caught a glimpse of a yet to be named high-end custom-designed Radeon HD 4890 accelerator from ASUS. The accelerator makes use of an exotic VRM design to facilitate high clock speeds and overclocking potential. Back then, we couldn't get pictures of what cooled the beast. Thankfully, NordicHardware has a few pictures of the cooler, along with more details in place.

Five ASUS VH Series LCD monitors with screen sizes ranging from 20" to 24" have been EPEAT registered at the Gold level, the highest EPEAT rating possible. Designed and manufactured in strict adherence to GreenASUS principles, the ASUS VH202T-P, VH222H-P, VH232H-P, VH236H-P and VH242H-P successfully met or exceeded the required criteria and at least 75% of the optional criteria necessary to receive a Gold rating from EPEAT. These LCD monitors now join ASUS' Bamboo Series and N Series notebooks in the elite rung of electronic products bearing the EPEAT Gold eco-label.

PC Hardware giant ASUS is preparing a the Formula series graphics card air-coolers. The coolers in several shapes and sizes, are designed to streamline air-flow to achieve better cooling performance, and overclocking headroom, as ASUS puts it.

The most distinctive features of these coolers are the F1 car-shaped shrouds, and almost centrally-located, dust-proof fans that blow air onto aluminum fins, or radially-projecting heatsinks. The coolers first caught the eyes of the press during the CeBIT event.

A presentation by ASUS dealing has been sourced by Expreview, that reveals the company's claims of the cooler providing better distribution and dissipation of heat, and quieter operation in comparison to other coolers. It is unclear at this point in time, whether ASUS markets these coolers "as is", or as parts of their graphics cards.

ASUS today announced its plans to equip its notebooks with Intel Anti-Theft Technology, in an effort to help customers address the growing theft of notebooks. In the commercial world where businesses operate with the strictest level of confidentiality, and where notebooks belonging to highly mobile business professionals are likely to contain confidential company or personal information, the theft of vital information may be costly. ASUS addresses this concern with its new P Series notebooks, which are equipped with Intel Anti-theft PC Protection Technology. This new technology provides users with the ability to send a "poison pill" remotely, rendering the notebook inoperable by comprehensively shutting it down. As such, the risk resulting from a stolen or lost notebook is eliminated. Once the notebook has been recovered, a local passphrase or recovery token can be used to reactivate the notebook.

XFX is starting its Radeon HD 4890 lineup with three models graded by the core clock-speed they come with. The base-model will carry reference clock speeds of 850/975 MHz (core/memory), the XFX HD 4890 XT, with clock speeds of 875/975 MHz, and the XFX HD 4890 XXX, with clock speeds of 900/975 MHz.

Something about the XXX model is interesting: almost every other AMD partner has a Radeon HD 4890 variant with the same core clock-speed: A certain ASUS Radeon HD 4890, Sapphire HD 4890 Toxic, HIS HD 4890 Turbo, and MSI HD 4890 OC, and a recent AMD slide exposé showing two distinct grades of Radeon HD 4890, with the second one being a "Radeon HD 4890 OC". This grade, according to Expreview, is believed to have high clock speeds, to increase competitiveness against the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 accelerator.

Coming back to the XFX HD 4890 XXX, the card (not pictured yet) comes in a peculiar "X"-shaped box. It comes with a free copy of Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X., and is backed by the company's "5-star support". It is expected to be priced above US $250, which is supposed to be the base-price for Radeon HD 4890.

With the quiet introduction of 1004DN, the ASUS Eee PCs are an inch close to changing their names from netbooks to laptops or notebooks if you want. Up until now all netbooks were missing the presence of any optical drives, and that partly was what made them different from normal laptops. Well, that's about to change with the ASUS Eee PC 1004DN netbook which offers integrated DVD burner that makes possible reading and writing CDs and DVDs on the go. There's only one step left until Eee PCs and netbooks as all become normal laptops - their screen sizes.
Back on the Eee PC 1004DN except the DVD burner, it has a 10-inch LED-backlit TFT WSVGA screen with a 1024 x 600 resolution, an Intel Atom N280 CPU working at 1.66 GHz, an Intel GN40 chipset and 1 GB of DDR2 RAM expandable to 2 GB. For storage the 1004DN uses single 1.8-inch PATA 120 GB 4,200 RPM hard drive and an Express Card slot for expansion. The Eee PC 1004DN measures 277 mm x 194 mm x 27.4-34 mm and weights 1.45 kg (with a 6-cell battery). Expect pricing and availability date information soon.

As we inch closer to the early-April launch of AMD's newest graphics card, the Radeon HD 4890, pictures of the said card by various AMD partners are piling up. Among all the usual reference-design cards we have seen so far, that virtually every partner is working on, we have learned that ASUS is working on something bigger. The company already has a reference-design card in the works, and another one that is set to eye the top-spot in the range of HD 4890 cards that will hit the market.

The company is designing a non-reference design accelerator that concentrates on a superior power design, and higher clock-speeds. We do not know what the company plans to call it, whether it joins the elite MATRIX series, or a "TOP" model under its general lineup, but the odds are tilting in favour of it featuring in the MATRIX lineup, the reasons you will soon know.
