3DStor Listing Outs MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Custom Blower Card

PC hardware enthusiast, harukaze5719, has stumbled upon a very understated looking custom GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card. MSI has produced a two-unit wide blower-type cooling system for the current flagship NVIDIA 40-series GPU, with Chinese PC hardware retailer—3DStor.com—being the only semi-official source of information. MSI's own web presences have not been updated to include their new GeForce RTX 4090 Aero S 24G model. The e-retailer does not provide any pricing information, but several examples (more than ten) are available to purchase via mujitech3's Ebay store. The Ningbo-based seller is charging a cool $3065 per card, plus an additional $80.00 for international shipping.

According to 3dstor's listing, the relatively compact custom design sticks to NVIDIA's recommended reference specifications (boost clock reaching 2520 MHz), but a 350 W TGP looks to be a bit iffy (coupled with the board's 16-pin 12VHPWR connector)—Tom's Hardware observed that this: "is 100 W lower when compared to regular RTX 4090 AIBs. We must assume that this is a typo and that its TGP is the same as other RTX 4090 graphics cards, which are currently the best graphics cards for gaming. Meanwhile, when the board peaks at 450 W, its blower-based cooling system likely gets extremely loud." The low-key monolithic shroud design suggests that MSI is likely targeting professional types with its Aero S 24G model, although gamers eyeing a compact build will be well catered to...if they can spare the expense.

Gigabyte Mid-Range GPU Lineup Leaked, Radeon RX 7600 & RTX 4060 Ti Cards Incoming

Hardware tipster harukaze5719 has once again spotted the registration of a new set of Gigabyte products - the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has updated its registry with a slew of NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards - these listings were created this morning, and harukaze5719 picked up on this information almost immediately. Gigabyte's very mid-range new lineup is formed of nine RTX 4060 Ti GPU models and only a pair of Radeon RX 7600 GPU custom design cards - the common pattern is an allocation of 8 GB VRAM.

Gigabyte's two Radeon RX 7600 cards (Gaming & Gaming OC) are likely set for a May 25 launch, according to a combination of official AMD material and rumors from the past week or two - the slightly beefier Radeon RX 7600 XT is rumored to arrive on the same day. Leaked embargo information from earlier on this week suggests that NVIDIA is launching its GeForce RTX 4060 Ti lineup at the end of May, so an almost direct clash between it and AMD's upcoming Radeon 7600 and 7600 XT cards is expected to occur during that time period.

Gigabyte Will Have at Least Four GeForce RTX 4070 SKUs

Based on a leak courtesy of @momomo_us on Twitter, we now know that Gigabyte will be launching at least four different NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 based SKUs next week. Although the leaker only posted a single image of all four cards seen from the edge, it still gives us an idea of what to expect. The leaker also confirmed a rumour, that there will be two different types of GeForce RTX 4070 cards, namely those with a single 8-pin power connector and those with the 16-pin 12VHPWR PCIe 5.0 connector.

Gigabyte's four SKUs start with the Eagle and Windforce as the more budget friendly options, with the Eagle being the one we'd expect that will sell for the rumoured US$599.99 MSRP. Both of these cards obviously have the 8-pin power connector and seemingly a more basic heatsink compared to the other two cards. The higher-end models include the Gaming and Aero cards, both with 16-pin power connectors and a beefier heatsink with more heatpipes. It's unclear if we'll see a higher-end Aorus branded SKU or not at this point in time, but Gigabyte might forgo it to try to avoid making an overly expensive card that won't sell, considering that the 4070 is still largely an upper mid-range card.

Gigabyte Shows New RTX 4070 Ti WindForce Series Graphics Card

Gigabyte has introduced its new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti WindForce series, that will actually be a sixth SKU in the RTX 4070 Ti lineup, alongside two AORUS models, Eagle, Gaming, and AERO models. Surprisingly, this is a completely new design that has not been used on any previous Gigabyte cards, featuring a 2.5-slot, triple-fan cooler design.

Gigabyte did not give out a lot of information, so we do not know when the new Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti WindForce series will actually be available or at what price, but it is safe to assume it could end up to be the least expensive in the lineup. The new RTX 4070 Ti WindForce is also an OC edition card, which means it comes with a slight factory overclock, pushing the GPU up to 2625 MHz, which is a rather minor 15 MHz overclock.

MSI Announces the MEG X399 Creation Motherboard

MSI today announced the MEG X399 Creation, its flagship socket TR4 motherboard, with out of the box support for 2nd generation AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2000 processors. The company showed off this board at the 2018 Computex, held this June. Although built in the ATX form-factor, this board is recommended only for EATX-capable cases. The highlight of this board is its gargantuan 19-phase CPU VRM that's optimized for overclocking event the 32-core Threadripper 2990WX. The board draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX, two 8-pin EPS, and an optional 4-pin Molex. Heat drawn from the CPU VRM MOSFETS is dissipated not just by a large heatsink that spans almost the entire width of the board, but also a secondary heatsink cooling the SoC phases, via a heat-pipe. The huge chipset heatsink cools not just the X399 chipset, but also three M.2-NVMe slots (two M.2-22110 and one M.2-2280). You get 4 more M.2-2280 slots over the new M.2-Xpander Aero, which is a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 riser card that converts the slot to four M.2-2280 slots with x4 wiring, ventilating them with a 100 mm fan. It ends up looking like a graphics card in doing so.

Expansion includes eight DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 2048 GB of DDR4 ECC memory; four PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (full-time x16/x8/x16/x4), and an x1. Storage connectivity includes 7 M.2-NVMe slots (3 onboard, 4 via the included M.2-Xpander Aero accessory); and eight SATA 6 Gbps ports. Connectivity includes MSI's highest-grade onboard audio solution combining an ALC1220 with a headphones amplifier, and audio-grade capacitors; and two 1 GbE interfaces driven by Intel i219-V controllers (10 GbE is a notable absentee); and 802.11ac + BT 5.0 WLAN. You get 10 USB 3.1 ports on the rear panel (including a type-C port), and four USB 3.1 ports via front-panel headers). RGB LED diffusers dot the rear I/O shroud, the chipset heatsink, and the reverse side of the PCB. The board is expected to be priced around $500.

MSI Showcases Upcoming Four-Way M.2 PCIe Expansion Card Based on GPU Cooling Tech

MSI showcased their upcoming overkill solution for users that want to have a dedicated PCIe x16 expansion card - and one that brings the true and final cooling solution to end all thermal throttling. Basically, the company appropriated its Aero cooler, which is used for some of their graphics cards, and applied it to a 4x M.2 expansion card. The result? Up to 50 W of cooling capability with this solution - which can go up to 75 W if users connect the additional 6-pin power connector for the fan to go into overdrive.

It's almost as if MSI was giving users a "yes we can" shout on designing this cooling solution, with the amount of overkill this has. No amount of thermal throttling should occur here - ever. Maybe overcompensating for the M.2 Shield debacle? Whatever the reason, this is certainly a competent cooling solution, and it will be included inside their Threadripper X399 MEG Creation motherboard - an outrageous motherboard, with an outrageous M.2 cooling solution. Balance is brought back to the world. Naturally, the company also has plans to offer their expansion M.2 card as a standalone product.
