Ajazz at Computex 2024: Keyboards with Large Touchscreens, OLED Control Decks, Magnesium Alloy Mouse

Ajazz had a brisk show in its Computex 2024 booth, with the main attractions being keyboards with large touchscreens. The first one is a low-profile mechanical keyboard with a 5-inch (well, 4.9-inch) true-color capacitive touchscreen. The keyboard has physical dimensions comparable to the 85% format, but has a 75% layout, with that touchscreen located where you'd expect the Numpad to be. But that's not the strangest contraption, it's actually the Smart Screen Mechanical keyboard. This is also a 75% keyboard, but with a 10.1-inch rectangular screen with a crazy aspect ratio. You plug the keyboard to your PC, and this display as an HDMI device, and basically give yourself a second screen that prove useful for mapping macros in games, or even during creative work. It's just that the keyboard looks like a computer from the 1980s.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect about these keyboards with touchscreens, is that they're not all that expensive. The keyboard with the 10.1-inch screen, for example, is priced under $50. It's quite possible to pull off these prices if you're digging into the spare parts bins of smartphones. Don't need the big touchscreens? Ajazz has one with a tiny LED segment display.

AJAZZ Announces Year Of The Tiger Themed Limited Edition AC081 75% Mechanical Keyboard

AJAZZ is on a limited edition roll, first with the cheese-themed AC067 65% keyboard and now a zodiac-calendar themed take on its popular AC081 75% form factor keyboard. Given this is the year of the Tiger as per the Chinese zodiac, I fully expected to see the likes of Ducky to come up with a limited edition as they have for a while now. But it appears this year other brands have decided to take on the arguably easy formula, and I have a review of another such Tiger-themed keyboard in the works. AJAZZ's version uses a gasket-mounted structure with a thick CNC-machined aluminium alloy chassis which undergoes a combination of anodizing and electrophoresis processes for a matching textured finish, and PBT keycaps with dye sublimed legends. As with the cheese-themed keyboard, AJAZZ has once again worked with Kailh to bring out a limited edition Year of the Tiger switch that is a linear switch rated at 45 gf actuation at 1.8 mm travel. This is a heavy keyboard weighing 1.8 Kg and available for purchase from Mechkeys for $219.

AJAZZ Introduces AC067 Cheese-themed 65% Mechanical Keyboard

June 1 is celebrated as Children's Day in China and a few other regions, and keyboard manufacturer AJAZZ decided to commemorate the event by releasing a special edition of its AC067 65% keyboard targeting kids and fans of the Hanna Barbera show Tom and Jerry. This keyboard clearly is shaped to look like a block of cheese as most people would have thought of growing up—I know I certainly did—with the keyboard case especially adopting the same yellow color with inward dimples courtesy CNC machined aluminium alloy that is then given an anodized finish. This is complemented by a special edition yellow and white PBT dye sub keycap set that works well with the design, including with some novelty keycaps present on the modifiers. The cheese theme even extends to the switches with a collaboration done with Kailh to use a linear and smooth "Yellow Cheese" mechanical switch paired with Kailh hotswap switch sockets to allow further customization. The keyboard uses a gasket mount structure to help ensure it's not just a cheesy take on a keyboard, and of course has per-key RGB lighting too. This is a chunky keyboard weighing 1.5 Kg and will be certainly a unique peripheral device in more ways than one. If you are interested, this is currently available for pre-order from Mechkeys for $219.

[Editor's note: Our review can be found here for those interested]

Continued with the Ajazz K620T 1st Gen, Epomaker comes back with the Ajazz K620T Upgrade 2.0 this year. Featuring a minimalistic and sophisticated design, the K620T 2.0 is designed to be the ultimate solution to the perfect mobile typing experience. On top of all the features that Ajazz K620T 1st Gen has, the K620T 2.0 is hot-swappable with Bluetooth 5.0. This is on a call of the Epomaker community feedbacks after the K620T 1st Gen released. Being hot-swappable allows mechanical keyboard lovers to explore their favorite DIY experience and easily replace the switches with any other 3 pin switches. On the other hand, the bluetooth 5.0 ensures a better typing experience, expecially when users are on travel.

Designers and engineers have taken almost all practical needs of on-the-go typing into considerations when developing the K620T 2.0. Thanks to their effort, the K620T, which is a 60% compact keyboard, maximizes both utility and size while maintaining all of the necessary keys for a fully functional workflow. It comes with an integrated tablet stand so that smartphones and tablets with screen sizes up to 11 inches can easily sit in the dock. What's more, it can be switched in wired or Bluetooth modes by using the provided USB-C cable to connect it with the devices. After utilizing the latest iteration of the incredibly reliable and trusted Bluetooth 5.0 Chipset, the K620T 2.0 offers a faster and more accurate keystroke response. The unique chipset incorporation further allows up to three devices to be connected simultaneously as well as providing further transmission distances, no matter what operating systems the devices are. Combining with its 4400mA battery, the K620T 2.0 supports more than 880 hours of working time (without RGB backlit).
