NVIDIA GeForce 8800 DirectX 10 Game Demonstrations at 2007 CES

NVIDIA is demonstrating spectacular next-generation DirectX 10 gaming content running on NVIDIA GeForce 8800 graphics processors at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. NVIDIA GeForce 8800 graphics processing units (GPUs) and NVIDIA nForce 680-series media and communications processors (MCPs) will demonstrate dozens of cutting edge PC games at the show including Microsoft's Games for Windows space in the Central Hall, Booth #7144, at CES.

LAS VEGAS - Jan. 7, 2007 - Speaking at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates and Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division President Robbie Bach showed how the company is delivering a new generation of connected experiences that are inspired by the universal desire to create community and share interests and passions with friends and family.

Gates and Bach announced several new products and services that include new Windows Vista -inspired PCs, never-before-seen Windows Vista features, an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV)-enabled Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, and a new partnership with Ford Motor Co. that will extend digital experiences to the car. The company also unveiled Microsoft Windows Home Server, which provides a central place to help store, protect and access all the digital content in the home.

CES 2007: Ultra Debuts the First Carbon Fiber Computer Case


Ultra plans to debut unique new carbon fiber case, in this year's CES 2007. The carbon fiber is light weight material, which has been used in aircraft and race cars for years, but the Ultra case is about to be the first computer part to use it. The Ultra case has 5x 5.25 bays, 5x 3.5" internal bays for hard drives, and 2x 3.5" bays for floppy or small baybus controllers. The Ultra Carbon Fiber Case measures 20 ½" (height) x 19 ¾" (depth) x 8 ¼" (wide). It has a two 120mm fans, one in the front and one in the rear for exhaust. The frame is actually made from aluminum while the panels are from carbon fiber. The new Ultra Carbon Fiber case will be available with Ultra's new line of gaming PCs and available for individual purchase later this month. Ultra Products will also offer a clear-window version. Also coming later this month Ultra will announce a custom-paint program for users who wish to customize their own DIY rig with original artwork or designs.

LG Teams with SEGA to Show off Full HDTVs at CES 2007

LG Electronics signed a contract with SEGA Enterprises Ltd. (SEGA) for game trailer movies during 2007 International CES. The companies will kick off the joint promotion at the 2007 International CES in Las Vegas, January 8-11. Visitors to LG's booth (Booth #8214, Central Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center) at 2007 International CES will be dazzled by HD and Full HD games developed by SEGA and shown on LG's Full HDTVs. Video games will include Virtua Fighter 5 and Sonic The Hedgehog, both compatible with the PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360, next generation game consoles. LG will use the occasion to demonstrate its broad line-up of Full HD LCD TVs including 37-, 42-, 47-, and 55-inch models.

CES: Samsung Develops First Truly Double-sided LCD


Samsung Electronics announced today that it has created the first LCD panel that can produce independent images on each side of a mobile LCD display. Samsung's new double-sided LCD can show two entirely different pictures or sets of visual data simultaneously on the front and back of the same screen. Other conventional double-sided LCDs can only show a reverse image of the same video data. This new development will replace two display panels with one, thereby reducing overall thickness of mobile products by at least 1mm. The new double-sided LCD is 2.6mm thick and 2.22" wide, with QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) resolution. It has brightness values of 250 nits for the front and 100 nits for the rear display and needs only one backlight for proper operation. The new Samsung double-sided LCD will be exhibited at the Consumer Electronics Show, which opens in Las Vegas on January 8.

Ultra To Unveil 2000W PSU At CES

Ultra Products, a global leader in technology solutions, today announces that it will unveil the world's first 2000W ATX Power Supply Unit for the PC at next week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The Ultra X3 Modular 2000W PSU has a footprint similar to some competitors' 1000W units (just 10.25 inches) and is 80% efficient under typical loads. This year's CES show promises to be very interesting. The 2000W X3 will be available to consumers sometime in early 2007.

ASUS to Showcase Notebook Audio-Visual Workstation at CES 2007


Asustek Computer will showcase its XG Station, an audio-visual workstation for notebooks at the upcoming 2007 International CES in Las Vegas, according to the company. The XG Station, equipped with discrete graphics chips, Dolby output and USB 2.0, give users better graphics and audio-visual effects when connected to their notebooks, the company said. During CES, Asustek will also display its 12-inch W5Fe, a Vista SideShow-supporting notebook, and the G1 and G2 gaming notebooks, both equipped with discrete graphics chips.
