ECS introduced the H110I-C4P value mini-ITX motherboard based on the Intel H110 Express chipset, and designed for 6th generation Core, Pentium, and Celeron processors, in the LGA1151 package. The board draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 4-pin CPU power connectors; conditioning it for the CPU with a simple 4-phase VRM. The CPU is wired to a pair of DDR4 DIMM slots, supporting up to 32 GB of dual-channel DDR4-2133 memory.

Expansions slots include a PCI-Express 3.0 x16, and an M.2 2242 slot with 20 Gb/s bandwidth. Storage connectivity includes four SATA 6 Gb/s connectors. Display connectivity includes one each of DisplayPort and HDMI. Other modern connectivity includes four USB 3.0 ports (two on the rear panel, two by headers), 6-channel HD audio, and gigabit Ethernet. Expect a sub-$80 price-tag.

ASUS, the No.1 gaming monitor brand, today announced MG248Q, MG28UQ and MG24UQ, the latest gaming monitors in the ASUS MG Series. MG248Q is a 24-inch Full HD monitor featuring an ultra-fast 1 ms response time and an incredible 144 Hz refresh rate. MG28UQ and MG24UQ are 28- inch and 24-inch displays respectively, both featuring a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution.

All MG Series monitors include Adaptive-Sync technology for smooth gaming visuals, while the new ASUS-exclusive DisplayWidget utility gives users easy access to various display settings.

BenQ unveiled a new 24-inch business monitor for people who spend long hours looking at mostly bright screens. The new BL2420Z features a low blue-light mode, which works to reduce eye strain by reducing harmful blue-light by up to 70 percent. The monitor also uses a non-PWM method of reducing brightness of its LED back-lighting, making it flicker-free.

The rest of its specifications are pretty mainstream - Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 250 cd/m² maximum brightness, 3000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° maximum viewing angles, and inputs that include DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI, and D-Sub. a 2-port USB hub and 2W stereo speakers make up the rest of it. The monitor's most striking feature is its stand which appears to be carried over from some of the company's gaming-grade monitors, and features a headset stand. BenQ didn't reveal pricing.

At its Capsacin event, AMD demoed one of the first DirectX 12 AAA games, Hitman (2016), on a machine running its next-generation GPU. This GPU is based on its "Polaris" architecture, and while the press got no specs to take home, they did catch a glimpse of the card's rear I/O panel. The display connector layout is unlike anything AMD has at the moment, on its reference-design cards, and looks similar to what NVIDIA offers on some of its high-end graphics cards.

The connector layout sees four connectors on the first slot (same level as the card's PCB), which includes three DisplayPorts and one HDMI port; and one DVI connector on the second slot, with an air-vent next to it. The "Polaris" architecture supports DisplayPort 1.3 and HDMI 2.0a standards. DisplayPort 1.3 serves up enough bandwidth for 5K (5120 x 2880 pixels) at 60 Hz, 4K-HDR (3840 x 2160 with HDR) at 60 Hz, or 4K-SDR at 120 Hz. The SFF desktop setup running this card was able to render Hitman with Ultra settings and 2560x1440 pixels resolution, over 60 fps.

AMD unveiled its latest flagship graphics card, the Radeon Pro Duo. The card is designed for "creators who game, and gamers who create," as the tagline goes. It is a dual-GPU graphics card based on a pair of 28 nm "Fiji" chips, the same ones which drive the R9 Fury X and the R9 Nano. AMD is positioning this card in the gray-area between consumer graphics cards, and FirePro workstation products, as a new "workstation-class" product. Perhaps this allows the company to get away with things such as three 8-pin PCIe power connectors.

The Radeon Pro Duo features two "Fiji" GPUs in their maximum core configuration - 4,096 stream processors, 256 TMUs, and 64 ROPs, each; with 4 GB of HBM memory, each. The card hence packs a total of 8 GB HBM memory, and 16 TFLOP/s total single-precision floating-point performance. The card features a liquid-cooling solution designed by Cooler Master, with a thick 120 mm x 120 mm radiator that's similar to the one that ships with the R9 Fury X. The card's display output configuration is similar to the R9 Fury X, too, with three DisplayPort 1.2a and one HDMI 1.4a connectors. AMD is going ahead and claiming the title of "World's Fastest Graphics Card." The Radeon R9 Pro Duo is expected to be priced at US $1,499.

Back in October 2015 Club 3D did introduce its first USB 3.1 Type-C Adapters. Those adapters did have a very good market acceptance directly from the beginning and with Type C featured Notebooks, Ultrabooks etc. having a wider spread from week to week we are sure that now is the right time to introduce the next USB 3.1 Type C Adapters to offer our customers the widest range of outputs that they can get with Type C.Those adapters do form an innovative new product segment with our existing range of high quality Audio/ Video Adapters like f.e. the first (Mini)DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapters (CAC-1070/1170) that were initially introduced by Club 3D in January 2016.

The USB Type-C connector was introduced in the first months of 2015. This completely new connector plug is smaller, reversible and capable of transferring more than data alone. It is expected that the USB Type-C connector will eventually replace the USB Type A and Type B connectors we have all been using over the past years. With the Type-C connector, the USB 3.1 standard was introduced as well. Compared to USB 3.0 the new standard offers twice the transfer rate of up to 10 Gbps and allows for three essential features to be used over a single cable: Video, Data and Power.

Acer made the latest addition to its Predator line of gaming monitors, with the 32-inch XB321HK. This flatscreen boasts of 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) native resolution, with 100% sRGB coverage over the entire 178°/178° viewing angles, and 10-bit color (1.07 billion colors). It features NVIDIA G-SYNC adaptive refresh-rate technology. Other key specs include 4 ms response time, 350 cd/m² maximum brightness, and dynamic mega-contrast ratio. The EyeProtect feature reduces blue light emissions, while GameView dynamically adjusts the display to suit your game type. Inputs include DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI. Available now, the XB321HK is priced at 799 GBP (incl VAT).

The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) today announced it has published version 1.4 of the DisplayPort (DP) audio/video standard. The first major update to DisplayPort since version 1.3 was released in September 2014, DP 1.4 is also the first DP standard to take advantage of VESA's Display Stream Compression (DSC) technology. DSC version 1.2 transport enables up to 3:1 compression ratio and has been deemed, through VESA membership testing, to be visually lossless. Together with other new capabilities, this makes the latest version of DP ideally suited for implementation in high-end electronic products demanding premier sound and image quality.

DisplayPort is a packet-based, extensible protocol for transporting video and audio data. Initially introduced as a new external interface, its flexibility has enabled its adaptation to embedded displays and incorporation into other connectors like the new reversible USB Type-C interface and Thunderbolt. Its Multi-Stream Transport (MST) capability enables high-resolution support of multiple monitors on a single display interface.

AOC unveiled the Q2775PQU, a 27-inch monitor. It embeds a WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) IPS panel, with 4 ms response time, 178°/178° viewing angles; 10-bit color (1.07 billion colors), dynamic mega-contrast, and 350 cd/m² maximum brightness. Display inputs include DisplayPort 1.2, dual-link DVI, HDMI (likely HDMI 1.4a), and D-Sub. A 4-port USB 3.0 hub and 2W integrated stereo speakers make up the rest of the package. Its stand allows basic tilt adjustments. Measuring 533.4 mm x 242.9 mm x 640 mm, the monitor weighs about 6.6 kg.

After an impressively high-performance media player DS81, Shuttle today announces its next-generation Slim PC with Intel Skylake platform technology, the DH110. Equipped with the new LGA 1151 socket and Intel 110 chipset, the DH110 supports Intel 6th generation Core i3/i5/i7, Pentium, and Celeron 65W processors. It is designed to drive interactive commercial applications and support 4K/Ultra HD* video content. At the back panel of machine, provides HDMI and DisplayPort to support dual-screen displays.

Compared to Haswell/Haswell Refresh processors with 22nm process, the DH110 supports 14 nm Intel "Skylake" processor to reduce power consumption and built-in new generation Intel HD Graphics even have better graphics performance. The DH110 supports DDR3L high-efficiency 1.35V low-voltage memory with a maximum capacity up to 32 GB (16 GB x2), reducing thermal energy production and overall energy consumption.

EIZO Corporation today announced the release of the ColorEdge CG2420 and CS2420, two 24.1-inch monitors with 1920 x 1200 resolution for use in various creative industries. Both the monitors feature a sleek new cabinet design with slim bezels which are 39% smaller than their predecessors'. A carrying handle is built-in for easily moving the monitor between locations or within the studio. The flat design uses electrostatic switches on the front bezel in place of traditional buttons for seamless access to monitor settings. The switches light up using an LED for viewing in dimly-lit work environments.

The ColorEdge CG2420 is the professional-level model for use in photography, design, print, and post production. It features a built-in self-calibration sensor for hassle-free monitor maintenance that ensures optimal color reproduction and image consistency throughout the creative workflow. The ColorEdge CS2420 includes many of the advanced features of EIZO's ColorEdge lineup while meeting the varying needs and budgets of hobbyists and prosumers that want to create, edit, and enjoy photography, illustration, and more.

ASUS unveiled the MG28UQ Ultra HD monitor. While it's not branded with the company's coveted Republic of Gamers (ROG) decals, the company is still positioning it as a product targeted at gamers. Perhaps the company decided to reserve ROG branding for displays with high refresh rates or adaptive-sync tech. The MG28UQ is a 28-inch display with a TN-film panel. Besides its native resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, this panel serves up 10-bit color (1.07 billion colors), a response time as low as 1 ms, viewing angles of 170°/160° (H/V), 330 cd/m² maximum brightness, and dynamic mega-contrast.

Among its gamer-friendly features include a flicker-free LED backlighting, which doesn't rely on PWM to reduce brightness (and hence doesn't flicker), an OSD crosshair that's independent from the host input (useful in "hardcore" modes of online shooters that lack crosshairs), an OSD timer, frame-rate counter, and in-built display alignment. The GameVisuals feature serves up display settings presets that are optimal to the various gameplay types (FPS, RTS, Race sims, etc). The display also features TUV certification for low blue-light LED back-lighting. Display inputs include one HDMI 2.0, two HDMI 1.4a, and one DisplayPort 1.2. A 2-port USB 3.0 hub comes included. ASUS didn't reveal pricing.

AOC unveiled the Q2963PQ, a 29-inch ultra-wide monitor, which embeds an IPS LCD panel, and a mainstream feature-set. Its key specs include 2560 x 1080 pixels native resolution, 5 ms response time, 60 Hz refresh-rate, 178°/178° viewing angles, 300 cd/m² maximum brightness, and dynamic mega-contrast. Inputs include DisplayPort 1.2, dual-link DVI, and D-Sub. Measuring 714 mm x 233 mm x 388 mm (WxDxH), the display weighs in at 7.16 kg. 3W stereo stereo speakers come inbuilt. It's expected to be priced at US $399.

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today the PA322UHD-2 display, which includes all the features of the existing PA322UHD model and now updates the option slot with support for 4K UHD inputs, including an installed, switchable DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 option. The Open Pluggable Specification (OPS)-compliant option slot gives videographers, photographers, print production specialists and others added flexibility to use the PA322UHD-2 in an even wider range of existing workflows.

The display uses a wide gamut white LED backlight and an IGZO technology IPS-type LCD panel that delivers excellent image quality with lower power consumption than comparable LCD displays while delivering 99.2 percent coverage of the Adobe RGB color space. "Pros in color-critical fields now have more options for 4K UHD over a single cable, including the latest HDMI 2.0 standard," said Art Marshall, Senior Product Manager of Professional and Medical Displays at NEC Display. ASUS today announced its latest mini PCs, the VivoMini VC65 Series. The VC65 and VC65R mini PCs feature a versatile modular design with three storage and optical drive configurations for increased performance, productivity, and entertainment. They are the world's smallest mini PCs that can accommodate up to four 2.5-inch SSD or HDD storage modules. VivoMini VC65 Series mini PCs are designed for a wide range of computing tasks for the home or office, and are powered by up to desktop-grade 6th-generation Intel Core processors. The top-of-the-line VivoMini VC65R model features built-in RAID support, making it ideal for a network attached storage (NAS) or mini server system. These mini PCs feature a compact design with an embedded power adapter, and can be placed horizontally or vertically. VivoMini VC65 Series can also be VESA-mounted.

The VivoMini VC65 Series is the first of the range of sub-2-liter ASUS consumer PCs that will bear the new ASUS VivoMini name. Existing VivoPC models (VM62N, VM62, VM60, VM42, VM40B, VC62B, VC60V, and VC60) will retain the VivoPC branding.

Dell introduced the UltraSharp U2717D monitor, featuring a super-thin bezel design, which the company refers to as InfinityEdge, that lets you build multi-display setups, with minimal bezel loss. The 27-incher features an IPS display panel, with WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, 6 ms (GTG) response time, 350 cd/m² maximum brightness, and 1000:1 static- with dynamic mega-contrast ratio. The panel surface features 3H anti-glare coating. Inputs include DisplayPort 1.2, mDP 1.2, and HDMI 1.4a (with MHL support). A USB 3.0 hub comes included. Dell didn't reveal pricing or availability.

Samsung is giving finishing touches to a new fleet of high-speed ultra-wide monitors. These monitors will be among the first to leverage DisplayPort 1.3, to serve up blazing fast 144 Hz refresh rates, on resolutions as high as 3440 x 1440 pixels. Samsung has plans of at least two monitors with these specs - a 30-inch, and a 35-inch display. The two will feature VA (vertical-alignment) panels. It's likely that the two could also feature adaptive-sync features, such as AMD FreeSync. The two could come out later this year.

AMD Radeon Technologies Group (RTG) head Raja Koduri, in an interview with Venture Beat, confirmed that the company is currently working on two 14 nm FinFET GPUs based on the "Polaris" (4th generation Graphics CoreNext) architecture. He was quoted as referring to the two chips as "Polaris 10" and "Polaris 11." He remarked that the two chips are "extremely power efficient."

Koduri ran Venture Beat through what's new with these chips, besides being built on the 14 nm process and GCN 4.0 stream processors - a redesigned front-end, new geometry processors, a new multimedia engine, and new display controllers. GCN 4.0 lends the chip an up-to-date API support besides significantly higher performance, the new multimedia engine features native h.265 hardware acceleration, and the display controllers support the latest DisplayPort 1.3 and HDMI 2.0a connectors.

AMD provided customers with a glimpse of its upcoming 2016 Polaris GPU architecture, highlighting a wide range of significant architectural improvements including HDR monitor support, and industry-leading performance-per-watt. AMD expects shipments of Polaris architecture-based GPUs to begin in mid-2016.

AMD's Polaris architecture-based 14nm FinFET GPUs deliver a remarkable generational jump in power efficiency. Polaris-based GPUs are designed for fluid frame rates in graphics, gaming, VR and multimedia applications running on compelling small form-factor thin and light computer designs.

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, today announced the new MultiSync EA305WMi and EA275WMi, 30-inch and 27-inch displays. Designed for dual monitor configurations, these widescreen models feature IPS panel technology with wide viewing angles (178° horizontal/vertical), DisplayPort 1.2 inputs and outputs, and the NEC-exclusive ControlSync technology.

ControlSync technology allows users to control up to six displays in a multi-monitor configuration. Upon establishing one unit as the master, users are able to control most settings of the multi-monitor setup in unison through the primary monitor. "The new EA305WMi and EA275WMi displays give business professionals new, powerful tools, especially when using multiple monitors," said Art Marshall, Senior Product Manager for Desktop Displays at NEC Display Solutions. "The displays also include NEC's leading environmental and productivity features, as well as NEC-exclusive ControlSync and human sensors."

AOC is giving final touches to a trio of high-end PC monitors, which it plans to unveil at the 2016 CES. These include the 35-inch curved C3583FQ, the 28-inch 4K U2879VF, and the stylish 27-inch I2781FH, pictured in that order. AOC teased the three without putting out too many specs. The I2781FH is likely a 1080p or 1440p display, with a stylish, single-piece metal stand, and HDMI inputs. The U2879VF features a 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) panel, DisplayPort 1.2a (supports AMD FreeSync), and HDMI 2.0. The C3583FQ is a bit of an enigma, this 35-incher features a curved panel of a yet unknown resolution, but which supports 160 Hz refresh-rates.
