NVIDIA ForceWare 163.69 Released

One week after the last ForceWare 163.67 BETA, NVIDIA released new BETA drivers this time version 163.69. What's new in this release:
  • Improved compatibility and performance for NVIDIA SLI technology on Microsoft DirectX 9.0c and OpenGL 2.1 applications.
  • Improved compatibility for The Way It's Meant To Be Played game titles: BioShock, Crysis, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Hellgate: London, and World in Conflict.
  • Added PureVideo HD decode acceleration for GeForce 8600, 8500 and 8400 series GPUs.
  • Improved performance of the graphics memory manager on GeForce 8 series GPUs running DirectX 9 applications in single-GPU and NVIDIA SLI configurations.

NVIDIA Releases ForceWare 163.67 BETA

NVIDIA has released new ForceWare BETA drivers version 163.67, for all GeForce FX, 6, 7 and 8 series of video cards. The new drivers offer improved compatibility for Crysis and BioShock, as well as numerous other game and application compatibility fixes. Please read the release notes for more information.

NVIDIA has released new ForceWare 163.44 BETA driver, just in time for the unveiling of the PC demo of BioShock. The ForceWare 163.44 BETA comes with support for the GeForce FX, 6, 7 and 8 series of video cards.

NVIDIA Releases ForceWare 163.11 BETA

NVIDIA has released new BETA ForceWare drivers version 163.11. This driver supports single GPU and NVIDIA SLI technology on DirectX 9, DirectX 10, and OpenGL for GeForce 6, 7, and 8 series GPUs. This driver fixes numerous game and application compatibility issues. It also has improved compatibility for World in Conflict.

NVIDIA Releases New ForceWare 162.22 / 163.11 Beta Drivers For Vista

Nvidia has released the new Official 162.22 and 163.11 Beta Forceware drivers for Windows Vista.
The 162.11 drivers are for the GeForce 6,7,8 series and some of the improvements include better DX10 SLI support and increased total graphics memory.
The 163.11 Forceware are only for the GeForce 8 series and are almost specifically pointed for improved DX10 performance in World in Conflict.

NVIDIA threatens NGOHQ over ForceWare Distribution

It seems that NVIDIA is upset that the folks over at NGOHQ.com are distributing their ForceWare drivers with modified install scripts. NVIDIA is threatening legal action towards the site and its owners if they do not comply with their demands.

Of particular note is AMD/ATI's stance on modifying install scripts for their Catalyst package:

"Feel free to distribute and endorse Catalyst software. Just please let your users know that if they use modified drivers we aren't able to support them properly. Keep up the good work in the community." -AMD/ATI

NVIDIA ForceWare 160.04 WHQL

A new ForceWare driver for Windows Vista has been leaked to the web. The credit goes to Station-Drivers for the discovery. This driver is available in both x32/x64 forms, it also includes WHQL certification and support for the GeForce 6-8 families. Despite the WHQL certification, since this driver came from an "unofficial source", consider it as a beta - and use it at your own risk.

ForceWare 158.24 released

NVIDIA has released an updated version of the WHQL certified ForceWare driver for Windows Vista, taking the version number to 158.24. This driver works with all GeForce series 6, 7 and 8 cards running on Vista, although DirectX 10 support is obviously only available on the series 8 cards. Please note, if you are wanting to use DirectX 10 with SLI you will need to download the 158.43 beta driver, as no WHQL driver supports this feature yet. The 158.24 driver fixes numerous game and application compatibility problems, offers increased performance in 3D applications and adds support for Vertical Sync in DirectX applications. You can download the 32-bit driver here and the 64-bit driver here.

NVIDIA drivers for Windows XP

NVIDIA has released new WHQL certified ForceWare drivers for Windows XP, with separate drivers for GeForce 8-series cards and all other GeForce cards. The 8-series driver has been updated to version 158.22, with the main improvements listed by NVIDIA being increased performance in 3D applications and numerous game and compatibility fixes. Meanwhile, the new 94.24 driver for Windows XP and 2000 users running non-8-series GeForce cards can also be found on NVIDIA's website, although you will need to follow the link below because NVIDIA's site still directs users to the old version when you chose your card on the driver download page. The release notes are not yet available, but it is looks like a complete version of the driver with one of the only changes listed being added support for the GeForce 7200 GS.

New NVIDIA 8800 Vista ForceWare 158.42 Drivers Available

New NVIDIA ForceWare BETA driver version 158.42 designed to work only with GeForce 8800 GTS/GTX/Ultra GPUs is now available for download. Please read the release notes for more information on product support, feature limitations, and known compatibility issues.

NVIDIA ForceWare 160.03 Beta Pops Up

Apparently NVIDIA has pulled out new ForceWare BETA driver version 160.03 right after the major official drivers update last Thursday. The new 160.03 will work with Microsoft's Windows XP, 2000 and XP Media Center and supports the GeForce 6, 7 and 8 series. The driver's release date is 27/04/07. Download the new ForceWare 160.03 from here and remember that this is a BETA version. Use at your own risk.

NVIDIA ForceWare Version 158.22

NVIDIA has released new ForceWare drivers today for all the major Windows operating systems. The updated package of the original U.S. English driver kit adds support for GeForce 8800 Ultra. Please note that this driver currently only supports GeForce 8 Series. Read the release notes for more information on product support, bug fixes, feature limitations, and known compatibility issues.

NVIDIA ForceWare for Windows XP/2003/MCE Updated to 158.19

We told you about NVIDIA's the updated Windows Vista drivers yesterday. It came to our attention that the driver suite for Windows XP, the Media Center Edition and Windows 2003 was updated as well and leads in the term of version number. It now officially supports the recently released 8300/8400/8500/8600 cards and delivers increased 3D performance as usual. Please remember this driver is still in a beta state!

NVIDIA Updates Vista ForeWare Drivers

NVIDIA Updates Vista ForceWare Drivers

NVIDIA has updated its Vista ForceWare display drivers for all GeForce 6, 7 and 8 cards, for both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the OS. This takes the version number up to 158.18 - the drivers are still listed as being beta whilst NVIDIA continues to improve them, but they are the official drivers available through the main downloads section of the site so should be stable. You can view the range of fixes below, although there are no new features in this release.

The 32-bit download is available here (30.2MB) and the 64-bit download is available here (42.7MB).

ForceWare 97.94 for GeForce 8800s

NVIDIA has updated the display drivers for users with GeForce 8800 series cards running on Windows XP. Some minor issues have been fixed issues including the media player hanging when playing MPEG2 HD video clips using overlay in 1080i and then switching to full screen mode, system crashes after four or more suspend/resume cycles and screen corruption when running Company of Heroes in SLI mode. Finally, LaptopVideo2Go.com has leaked one of the most anticipated NVIDIA ForceWare drivers for GeForce 8800 Series working with Windows Vista 32/64bit. According to other users the driver performs really well, but be carefull because it is not WHQL certified. Use at your own risk. NVIDIA planning new graphics interface for drivers

The NVIDIA Forceware 90 series graphics driver user interface was accused of being ugly, inconvenient, and sometimes slow. People generally accused NVIDIA control panel of making tasks not accessed too often very hard to find, and not changing languages when installed on a non-English copy of Windows. NVIDIA heard the call of it's consumers, and decided to do something about it. The successor of Forceware 90 series will have a much better graphical interface, which will be applied to both XP and Vista versions of the driver.
