Walkthrough of the EK Waterblocks Suite at CES 2020

CES might be over, but our coverage from the event continues. TechPowerUp prides itself on visiting a lot of brands, big and small, and bringing to you our first-hand account of everything new. EK Waterblocks, or simply EKWB henceforth, had a large room in the Mandalay Bay with a big open window spanning the room, which made for challenging photography, but a well-laid out open plan made it easy for us to go over the various product segments they had to display. This post will go briefly over them, but keep in mind that nearly all products showcased do not have set retail availability info just yet.

The very first thing that caught our eyes was their new line of AIO cooling solutions, now simply called EK-AIO. These are the successors to the EK-MLC Phoenix, and the EK-Predator from before, both of which did not really change the status quo of the pre-filled AIO CPU cooling market. EK hopes that the new series, of which again they are working to finalizing the design before committing to a release window and pricing information, will change this. As with most of their new products, the EK-AIO coolers integrate RGB support with 9 dRGB LEDs in the pump/block and more on the EK-Vardar RGB fans that are used on the radiator itself. The EK-AIO series is planned to come in 120/240/360 mm radiator size options, with 1/2/3 fans respectively. Read past the break for more from the Slovenian watercooling brand.

Fractal Design Introduces the Ion SFX Gold PSUs in 550 W and 650 W Capacities

Fractal Design today introduced the Ion SFX Gold PSU - a modular, high-performance power supply that brings the enhanced cable flexibility and superior output quality of the critically acclaimed Ion series to the SFX-L form factor.

The diminutive footprint of the Ion SFX houses a surprisingly large 120 mm fan for better airflow and quieter operation - partly thanks to its semi-passive Zero RPM mode that ensures the fan spins only when needed. The Ion SFX Series also features Fractal Design's revolutionary new guru UltraFlex DC cabling, an extremely high strand-count wire with specially formulated insulation affording all the efficiency and current capacity of competing products but with significantly less bulk. UltraFlex cables bend and twist effortlessly to eliminate the inherent hassles of traditional rigid power supply wiring to make installation and cable-routing easier than ever before.

Fractal Design Announces the ION+ Platinum Line of Power Supplies

Revolutionary cables and custom cooling bring game-changing flexibility with silent efficiency. Welcome the Ion+ Platinum - a modular, high-performance power supply unit with emphasis on whisper-quiet operation, enhanced cable flexibility and superior output quality. A user selectable semi-passive Zero RPM mode ensures the fan won't spin up until needed, and even then it is unlikely to be noticed thanks to a highly efficient custom design leveraging an exceptionally low minimum speed.

One of the most revolutionary new features is our very own UltraFlex DC cabling. An extremely high strand-count with specially formulated insulation made it possible to reduce conductors to just 0.08 mm in diameter - half the thickness of competing products - without loss of efficiency or current capacity. The UltraFlex cable bends and twists effortlessly, eliminating the inherent hassles of traditional rigid power supply wiring to make installation and cable-routing a breeze.

Fractal Design Adds X299, X399 Support to Celsius AIO Lineup

Like many other manufacturers, Fractal Design isn't sleeping under the proverbial palm tree with their products. They too have sought to keep after the most promising high performance platforms for their Celsius AIOs, and have announced compatibility with Intel's latest X299 platform and AMD's X399. The S24 is one of the best 240 mm AIO coolers out there, apparently; models of this lineup feature a 12 V ceramic bearing water pump equipped with a copper cold plate. The Celsius line of coolers also come equipped with an integrated fan hub that allows end users to plug the cooler fans directly into the radiator instead of the motherboard - leaving those fan headers free for other pieces of hardware.

The compatibility will be achieved, as usual, through a separate bracket. AMD Threadripper users will be able to rest assured, since their purchase of a Threadripper CPU will already come with a Asetek retention kit inside the box (compatible with Fractal Design's coolers, naturally.) Intel X299 users will find full compatibility for the socket via the included 2011-v3 kit inside the Fractal Design Celsius AIO packaging.

Fractal Design Showcases Their Celsius S24 and S36 AIO Coolers at Computex 2017

Fractal Design, which recently announced their new Celsius S24 and Celsius S26 lines of AIO liquid cooling solutions, took to Computex 2017 to showcase their latest answer to an enthusiast's needs. The two models differ on radiator size, with the S24 materializing as a 240 mm piece, while the S36 is, expectedly, a 360 mm one. These feature integrated sound dampening, standardized G1/4" fittings, and discrete cabling for the radiator fans, with 2x or 3x 4-pin PWM fan headers on the radiator.

Fractal Design Announces the Celsius Series AIO Liquid CPU Coolers

Fractal Design today announced the Celsius line of all-in-one, closed-loop, liquid CPU coolers. The lineup consists of two models based on radiator size, the Celsius S24 featuring a 240 mm x 120 mm radiator, and the Celsius S36, featuring a 360 mm x 120 mm radiator. The cooler features a slew of design refinements over the company's previous-generation Kelvin-series of coolers. It features a quieter pump-block, standardized G1/4" fittings between the block and the radiator, and discrete cabling for the radiator fans, with two or three 4-pin PWM fan headers on the radiator, with source cabling discretely attached on one of the coolant tubes.

The included Dynamic X2 fans take in 4-pin PWM input, spin between 500 to 2,000 RPM, pushing up to 87.6 CFM of air, with a noise output of up to 32.2 dBA. The Celsisus series comes with out of the box support for two of the latest CPU socket types, LGA2066 and AM4, besides LGA115x, LGA2011/v3, AM3(+), and FM2(+). The coolers are backed by 5-year warranties, and are priced at USD $109.99 for the Celsius S24, and $129.99 for the Celsius S39.

Fractal Design Announces Free AM4 Upgrade Kits for its Kelvin Series Coolers

Fractal Design has announced the immediate availability of free AM4 upgrade kits to Kelvin series customers ensuring that owners wanting to upgrade to the latest AMD line of processors will be able to continue to use their multi award-winning All in One Water Cooling unit.

Owners of the Kelvin T12, S24 and S36 choosing to update to the new AM4 socket processor from AMD will be able to apply online via our Support Ticket System. Kelvin users requesting an upgrade kit will be required to upload a copy of their AMD Ryzen CPU or AM4 supported motherboard receipt via "attach a file."
