Both models share identical specifications, differing only in aesthetics: LUNA sports an all-white finish, while NOX adopts a matte black look. At the heart of each Boomstar card lies NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090D GPU, factory-overclocked to a 2,452 MHz boost clock, up from the reference 2,407 MHz. Power delivery is handled by a robust 16+6+7 phase VRM on a 14-layer PCB, with the card's total thermal design power rated at 575 W. GALAX recommends pairing the Boomstar series with a 1,000 W power supply, utilizing the latest 12 V-2×6-pin connector standard to ensure stability under full load. Display connectivity comprises three DisplayPort 2.1b outputs alongside a single HDMI 2.1b port, enabling multi-monitor and high-refresh-rate setups.

Measuring 348 × 155 × 60 mm (including bracket), the triple-slot, triple-fan cooler departs from conventional designs by employing magnetic attachments for both shroud and backplate. This tool-free system allows users to lift off the entire fan assembly without screws or cables, simplifying dust removal and maintenance. GALAX confirms that detaching these magnetized components does not void the warranty, although it cautions against removal while the card is operational. Out of the box, each card includes one customizable magnetic sticker, part of Boomstar's signature interchangeable panel concept. GALAX has yet to clarify whether additional sticker packs will be sold separately. GALAX has not disclosed pricing or availability timelines but confirms that Boomstar LUNA and NOX will remain confined to China, with no non-D variant planned for other regions.

Kuroutoshikou—a Japanese PC hardware brand—has introduced a special Blade and Soul NEO collaboration Radeon RX 7600 8 GB model. The company's press release goes into great detail about their retail packaging being "decorated with the beautiful characters and gorgeous stages of Blade," but the card itself is not adorned with any fancy illustrations or markings. In fact, the bare black design seems to be borrowed almost directly from PowerColor's Fighter stable (minus two stickers). As pointed out by VideoCardz, Kuroutoshikou already offers a "normal edition" Radeon RX 7600 SKU—minus NCSoft-related material. An exclusive in-game bonus seems to be the main draw here—as disclosed in the company's marketing spiel: "if you purchase this product and apply on the special page, you will receive a campaign code for the limited costume 'Gentleness' that can be used in Blade and Soul NEO."

Kuroutoshikou will deliver their "RD-RX7600-8G/Blade & Soul NEO Collaboration" edition to market on April 4, which could place it in a similar release timeframe with natural successors—AMD and board partners are expected to launch Radeon RX 9060 Series graphics cards in the second quarter of 2025. Surprisingly, the lower end of RDNA 3 keeps generating news articles—PowerColor seems to be working on a "V2" Fighter Radeon RX 7600 SKU, while plenty of China market-exclusive Radeon RX 7650 GRE cards have appeared within the past month or two. A possible surplus of Navi 33 GPUs could explain the sudden "reemergence" of previous-gen hardware. Going back to Kuroutoshikou; their current graphics card portfolio seems to consist of slightly rebranded PowerColor designs for the AMD side of things, while NVIDIA GeForce offerings are rebadged GALAX IPs.

As reported last month, GALAX had distributed prototypes of its upcoming flagship "Hall of Fame" (HOF) card—based on NVIDIA's Chinese market exclusive GeForce RTX 5090D GPU—to prominent figures within the PC hardware overclocking community. Earlier examples sported single 12V-2×6 power connectors, although GALAX's exposed white PCB design showed extra space for an additional unit. Evaluators conducted experiments involving liquid nitrogen-based cooling methods. The most vocal of online critics questioned the overclocking capability of initial GeForce RTX 5090D HOF samples, due to limitations presented by a lone avenue of power delivery. A definitive answer has arrived in the form of the manufacturer's elite team-devised GeForce RTX 5090D HOF Extreme Overclock (XOC) Lab Limited Edition candidate; a newer variant that makes use of dual 12V-2×6 power connectors. Several overclocking experts have entered into a GALAX-hosted competition—Micka:)Shu, a Chinese participant, posted photos of their test rig setup (see below).

Micka's early access sample managed to achieve top placement GPU on UL Benchmarks' 3DMark Speed Way Hall of Fame, with a final score of 17169 points. A screenshotted GPU-Z session shows the card's core frequency reaching 3277 MHz. Around late January, ASUS China's general manager (Tony Yu) documented his overclocking of a ROG Astral RTX 5090 D GAMING OC specimen up to 3.4 GHz; under liquid nitrogen cooled conditions. GALAX has similarly outfitted its flagship model with selectively binned components and an "over-engineered" design. The company's "bog-standard" HOF model is no slouch, despite the limitation imposed by a single power connector. The GALAX OC Facebook account sent out some appreciation to another noted competitor (and collaborator): "thanks to Overclocked Gaming Systems—OGS Rauf for help with the overclock of GeForce RTX 5090D HOF, and all of (our) GALAX products." The OGS member set world records with said "normal" HOF card—achieving scores of 59,072 points in 3DMark's Fire Strike Extreme project, and 25,040 points in Unigine Superposition (8K-optimized).

Earlier today, GALAX unveiled a brand-new custom GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card—according to ITHome, this offering marks the debut of the manufacturer's FIRE product series. This nomenclature has raised eyebrows across Western press outlets—given recent "high temperature" events involving NVIDIA "Blackwell" GPUs; GALAX's latest introduction seems to be a bit clumsy (timing-wise). The freshly introduced triple-fan model sports a "Cyber Black Flame" design; promotional imagery showcases an almost all-black aesthetic. The shroud features carbon fiber texturing and pattern-embossed sections. Its backplate displays prominent white GALAX branding and GeForce RTX text. The FIRE's cooling system is referred to as "wandering star."

According to its specification sheet, the GALAX GeForce RTX 5070 FIRE 12 GB model sticks closely to Team Green reference points. Currently, TechPowerUp's GPU database lists four GB205 GPU-based GALAX SKUs—in 1-Click or EX Gamer forms—all factory overclocked affairs. ITHome's report does not mention any price point for the debut FIRE card, but expectations point to a possible baseline MSRP conformant release in China. GALAX has prepped the GeForce RTX 5070 FIRE with a very barebones dual-slot design—akin to MSI's relatively new SHADOW 3X series. The GeForce RTX 5070 SHADOW 3X model also adheres to NVIDIA reference specs, including a TDP rating of 250 W.

GALAX's Hall of Fame (HOF) graphics card family has welcomed another addition; their newest custom offerings house NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (GB203) GPUs. TechPowerUp's W1zzard reviewed a lower-end sibling card—GALAX's "1-Click OC White" model—that is provisioned to conform to Team Green's baseline MSRP ($750). By contrast, the freshly introduced GeForce RTX 5070 Ti HOF OC LAB Deluxe and Deluxe-X variants are expected to arrive at retail with significant premium upcharges—these are true flagships; featuring pre-binned GPU dies and high-end components. GALAX introduced its fancily-named GeForce RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X model earlier last month, but hardcore enthusiasts will have to wait longer for an RTX 5090D-based sibling.

The GALAX GeForce RTX 5070 Ti HOF OC LAB Deluxe models are tipped to become world record breakers, due to their over-engineered makeup—prepped with a 14+6+6 phase power design. Quite fittingly, a signature (detachable) crown formation adorns several "Hall of Fame" shrouds—a similarly shaped cutout is present on HOF I/O brackets. VideoCardz believes that only two GeForce RTX 5070 Ti "Hall of Fame" SKUs will be released, instead of the expected four. Normally, GALAX introduces options that do not include their garish RGB-lit crown attachment. The publication noted a mere 30 MHz difference between Deluxe and Deluxe-X SKUs overclocked frequencies: 2580 MHz and 2610 MHz (respectively). Spec sheets reveal many shared traits; including gaming clocks of 2512 MHz, 300 W TGP (max. 350 W), and GB203 GPU. Visual analysis—of the bare HOF board—points to the utilization of Team Green's GB203-400 variant. VideoCardz reckons that the GALAX engineering team will be re-deploying the GeForce RTX 5080 HOF's PCB design, complete with 26 phase power design. The China-based AIB has not revealed price points for its two incoming GeForce RTX 5070 Ti HOF OC LAB Deluxe cards, but industry watchdogs anticipate costs going beyond $1000.

A formerly dormant member of China's Chiphell discussion board has resurfaced with a major GALAX leak; they claimed ownership of a pre-release GeForce RTX 5090D HOF OC LAB edition graphics card. The Hong Kong-based AIB did not update its "Hall of Fame" series with flagship NVIDIA "Blackwell" GPU silicon in time for last month's launch. Their highest-end offering arrived in the form of a GeForce RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X SKU; reportedly an over-specced juggernaut. According to the latest reports, GALAX's top GeForce RTX 5090D candidate is in the pipeline—early details indicate an impressive feature set. The manufacturer is well known for its selective methodology; GPU industry watchdogs believe that the incoming flagship utilizes only the very best pre-binned GB202 GPU dies and GDDR7 memory modules.

Despite a fitting of elite-tier parts, the lucky owner reported issues with their allegedly sanction box-ticking card: "this time the overclocking was more troublesome. The bracket and backplate of the graphics card gun had to be remade. Finally, it was done. I won't say more. I'm going to fill it with liquid nitrogen." VideoCardz believes that GALAX has sent preview samples to local overclocking specialists, minus finalized air-cooled solution attachments. As disclosed by the Chiphell member
(laoshu1919), early evaluators appear to be experimenting with liquid cooling. A photo of GALAX's GeForce RTX 5090D HOF OC LAB PCB design was shared on the forum; showing a grand total of 38 high-quality power phases. The GPU die is surrounded by 26 of these units, while 10 are positioned closer to the card's VRAM. Another 2 are located nearby to a single 16-pin power connector, with enough extra room to accommodate two more. Judging from laoshu1919's photo, this prototype seems capable of hosting another 16-pin power connector. The sample's I/O bracket likely sports GALAX's signature "1-Click OC" button.

We spotted via IT Home a fresh PC case just released by GALAX under the name "Metal Master Dark Guard", a new case that works with both ATX and microATX (back connectors supported) motherboards. The case keeps the look of the Metal Master series, with clean lines and a nice beveled design. It also has a big tempered glass side panel that gives you a clear view of internal components. The case internal design shows special attention to cooling, as GALAX mentions that they put it through multiple airflow tests. It can fit up to eight 120 or 140 mm fans, and one 240/260/280 mm radiator which makes it great for high-end gaming PCs. The design has a smart air duct system to keep things cool, and there's plenty of room inside to make cable management easy. One cool thing about the design is that the USB 3.0, and Type-C connectors are placed at the front-bottom. This helps keep the overall look clean by hiding cables away from the user's eyes while keeping the airflow clean.

The case can fit the latest hardware components, including the new RTX 50 series graphics cards or any graphic card up to 400 mm long, and standard power supplies. GALAX has priced the Metal Master Dark Guard at 249 yuan about $35, at least that's the price on Asian markets. If it reaches Western markets around $50 it can be considered a viable option for those on a tight budget.

This ultra high-end custom design is based on NVIDIA's brand new "Blackwell" GeForce RTX 5080 GPU—this (almost) all-white model is adorned with a signature "Plus-X" crown-like structure, loudly proclaiming (via ARGB) its placement in GALAX's product stack. Several press outlets have expressed disappointment about the Hong Kong-based manufacturer not selecting GeForce RTX 5090D internals for their first unveiling of new HOF designs in 2025. According to a weekend VideoCardz report, the GALAX GeForce RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X Edition model houses a striking white 12-layer PCB, with a 14+6+6 phase power design. Additionally, the card features a 70A high-current DR-MOS power stage. GALAX's previous-gen GeForce RTX 4080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X design sported two 16-pin power connectors—in contrast, its successor is reliant on a single 16-pin input.

A dedicated product page—with full specifications—has not appeared on the manufacturer's website, so VideoCardz guesstimated the card's maximum TDP rating. 400 W could be the default power, as seen on many AIB model spec sheets. GALAX has specced its latest HOF OC LAB Plus-X Edition with a dual BIOS system—their overclocked "P-Mode" takes the boost clock up to 2730 MHz. The card's air cooling solution consists of two 102 mm fans, positioned either side of a central 92 mm unit—the GALAX "Frost Ring Blades" are advertised as offering quiet operation, combined with maximizing air flow. GALAX has—once again—implemented its "Hyper Boost" system—the triple-fan cooling solution can be set to operate at maximum RPMs; enabled via an I/O bracket-mounted switch. The manufacturer has seemingly taken inspiration from ZOTAC—GALAX's new model sports a Safety Light-esque error detection system. The GeForce RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X Edition is not available for sale in China, at the time of writing.

The box-art of upcoming GALAX GeForce RTX 5080 "Blackwell" graphics card has much to say about the graphics architecture, without dropping any explicit mentions. The front-face of the box features a hooded human face—nothing fancy, until you begin to pay attention to the details. Half the face is composed of triangles streaming toward the face, while the other half is composed in place by a blue stream of light, as if to denote that it's being drawn by a fundamentally different method than "triangles."

The triangles here represent classic raster 3D graphics, while the other spirit-like half denotes neural rendering. Here's where it gets interesting. Both kinds of rendering are being applied to the same frame, and so neural rendering is fundamentally different from DLSS 3 Frame Generation, a technology that draws alternate frames using optical flow, motion vectors, and AI. Neural rendering appears to be, at least from this GALAX box-art, a technology that runs in real-time, where some elements, portions, or details of a frame are rendered by a generative AI, and others by raster 3D graphics.

GALAX introduced the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 3X, a custom-design RTX 4080 SUPER graphics card that appears to be its most affordable product based on the GPU. It's positioned a notch below the SG, ST, EX Gamer, and HOF series. The card features a sporty, multi-layered plastic cooler shroud, and a triple-fan setup. The cooling solution is no more than 3 slots thick, and features what looks like two aluminium fin stacks on either ends of a set of heat pipes.

The PCB only covers two-thirds the length of the card, and so all of the airflow from the third fan, and some of it from the second one, go through the heatsink, and out back from a cutout in the backplate. The fans lack any kind of lighting, the only lighting is an illuminated GeForce RTX logo on top. The card lacks any factory overclocking, but GALAX includes a software-based "1-click OC" mode. The RTX 4080 SUPER maxes out the "AD103" silicon, enabling at 10,240 CUDA cores, 80 RT cores, 320 Tensor cores, 112 ROPs, and 320 TMUs present on the silicon, besides the full 64 MB L2 cache available. The GPU is wired to 16 GB of 23 Gbps GDDR6X memory across a 256-bit wide memory interface, yielding 736 GB/s of memory bandwidth.

NVIDIA quietly released a variant of the GeForce RTX 4070 featuring slower 20 Gbps GDDR6 memory, replacing the 21 Gbps GDDR6X that the original RTX 4070 comes with. Wccftech has access to a GALAX branded RTX 4070 GDDR6, and put it through benchmarks focused on comparing it to a regular RTX 4070. Memory type and speed are the only changes in specs, the core-configuration isn't changed, nor is the GPU clock speed. Wccftech's testing shows that the RTX 4070 GDDR6 measures within 0-1% slower than the RTX 4070 (GDDR6X) at 1080p and 1440p resolutions; while the difference between the two is about 2% at 4K Ultra HD.

Wccftech's test-bed is comprehensive, with 27 game tests, each across 3 resolutions; and 7 synthetic tests. The synthetic tests are mainly part of the 3DMark test suite, including Speed Way, Fire Strike, Time Spy, Port Royal, and their presets. Here, the RTX 4070 GDDR6 is nearly identical in performance, with a 0-0.2% delta with the RTX 4070 GDDR6X. In the game tests, performance varies by resolution. 1080p has 0-1% performance delta, with the only noteworthy outliers being "Metro Exodus" (extreme preset), where the RTX 4070 GDDR6 loses 4.2%, and "Alan Wake 2," where it loses 2.3%.

NVIDIA GeForce board partners are preparing a silent launch of a variant of the GeForce RTX 4070 with slower 20 Gbps GDDR6 memory in place of the 21 Gbps GDDR6X that's standard to the RTX 4070, which results in a 5% reduction in memory bandwidth. It turns out that other specs, such as GPU clocks or core-configuration aren't changed to compensate for the reduced memory bandwidth. ASUS is among the first board partners with an RTX 4060 GDDR6 card, the ASUS DUAL RTX 4070 GDDR6, which was briefly listed on Newegg for $569, before it went out of stock. This is reported by VideoCardz as being the same price as the regular ASUS DUAL RTX 4070 with GDDR6X.

ASUS isn't the only NVIDIA board partner with an RTX 4070 GDDR6, Wccftech spotted a GALAX branded card that comes with the model string "RTX 4070 D6 1-click OC." Its retail box features a large specs-sheet on the front face that clearly mentions GDDR6 as the memory type. NVIDIA's move to re-spec the RTX 4070 with 20 Gbps GDDR6 was originally seen as a move to reduce its costs, letting the card be sold closer to the $500-mark. It remains to be seen if real-world prices settle down below those of the original RTX 4070 cards.

NVIDIA is possibly launching a more cost-effective variant of its GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card featuring GDDR6 memory, replacing the GDDR6X that it originally launched with. The new SKU would be better differentiated from the RTX 4070 SUPER. When NVIDIA refreshed its RTX 40-series "Ada" product stack in January, it discontinued the RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4080, which had been replaced in the lineup by the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and RTX 4080 SUPER, but at the time it didn't tinker with the RTX 4070, which continued to sell at a roughly $50 lower price than the RTX 4070 SUPER. This new SKU could be an attempt by NVIDIA to get further down below the $500-mark in pricing.

The RTX 4070 originally launched with 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory. This new variant sees the memory replaced with 20 Gbps conventional GDDR6. The JEDEC standard GDDR6 chips could be cheaper than GDDR6X, and could very well be the same GDDR6 chip models AMD uses in some of its higher Radeon RX 7000 series SKUs. This, however, comes with a 4.75% drop in memory bandwidth, which NVIDIA probably overcomes with increasing the GPU clocks a touch. The ASIC code for this SKU is AD104-251, compared to the AD104-250 of the original RTX 4070. The core configuration is otherwise unchanged—you get 5,888 CUDA cores across 46 streaming multiprocessors. Galax has a card based on this SKU ready.

Legendary overclocker Vince Lucido, aka KINGPIN, has reportedly partnered with PNY to develop next-generation GPUs for extreme overclocking. KINGPIN, known for his unparalleled expertise in pushing hardware to its limits, revealed the partnership during a recent interview with Gamers Nexus at Computex 2024. The move comes as welcome news to enthusiasts who have been eagerly awaiting KINGPIN's next venture since EVGA's departure left a noticeable gap in the high-end GPU segment. Previously, he was the leading engineer of EVGA's high-end KINGPIN designs aimed at pushing the GPU to its limits. However, since EVGA decided to leave the GPU business, KINGPIN was looking for a new company to work on the next-generation GPU designs.

This time, the company of choice for KINGPIN is now PNY. While he has been in contact with many companies like GALAX and ASUS, he claims that it would be very crowded to work there as there are "too many cooks in the kitchen" with these companies already having in-house overclockers. He has also been talking with MSI, but the company wasn't interested in making GPUs for extreme overclocking. However, PNY has been very interested in shaking up the high-end GPU market. KINGPIN claims that there is a massive hole in the high-end GPU market, and he hopes to fill it with a collaboration with PNY. Next-generation GPU designs assisted by KINGPIN will reportedly arrive for the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series of GPUs when we hope to see the legacy EVGA left to continue at PNY.

GALAX introduced the Classic line of graphics cards based on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and the RTX 4070 SUPER. These cards are designed with lateral-blower coolers, and a strictly 2-slot thickness, making them fit for workstations or graphics rendering servers with multiple cards in them. Both cards share a common board design, consisting of an aluminium channel-type heatsink that relies on a lateral blower for ventilation, which always stays on. This card pulls air from either sides of the PCB, and the card's backplate doesn't extend over the region of the PCB with the fan, to maximize clearance for the neighboring card.

The aluminium channel heatsink of this card extends through the entire thickness of the card, and pops out of the cooler shroud, GTX 480-style. The rear I/O bracket has large vents for the cooler to exhaust from. Display connectors include three DisplayPort 1.4, and an HDMI 2.1. Power is drawn from a 16-pin 12VHPWR connector located at the tail end of the card. The RTX 4070 SUPER comes with 7,168 CUDA cores across 56 SM; while the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER has 8,448 CUDA cores across 66 SM. Both cards stick to NVIDIA reference clock speeds for their respective GPUs. The company didn't reveal pricing.

The biggest benefit of the GeForce RTX 4060 "Ada" being based on the tiny AD107 silicon, and needing just four memory chips, is its tiny PCB footprint. This allows low-profile RTX 4060 graphics cards, as board partners found out. The GALAX RTX 4060 low-profile graphics card just made its debut in the Japan—a huge market for SFF and low-profile desktop PC hardware. The card is 18.2 cm long, and is exactly 6.9 cm tall, or what constitutes half-height. The card is 2 slots thick, and uses an aluminium fin-stack cooling solution that uses a trio of 40 mm fans.

Despite its limited PCB real-estate, the low-profile GALAX RTX 4060 wires out four display connectors—two each of DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1a. The card draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector at the tail-end of the card (so you might need a little extra clearance there). The most striking aesthetic aspect of the card is its all-white PCB, which combined with the white cooler shroud and fans, contrast the fin-stack heatsink. Out of the box, the card comes with its full-height bracket, which can be replaced with the included low-profile bracket. GALAX isn't the only brand with low-profile RTX 4060 cards, there are also such cards from ASUS and GIGABYTE.

KFA2, the brand owned by Galax for specific markets in Europe, announced its GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER EX Gamer graphics card in two new trims, Pink, and White. The regular RTX 4070 SUPER EX Gamer the company launched in January comes in black. The Pink trim involves a bubblegum pink shade taking over the cooler shroud and metal backplate. Ditto with the white trim. The PCB underneath both cards remains black, but since the cooling solution dwarfs it, it most remains out of sight when installed.

Both cards feature frosted acrylic fan impellers, with addressable RGB LEDs located in the fan hubs. Besides the illuminated fans, the GeForce RTX logo on top of the card comes with RGB LED illumination. Both cards come with a mobile app-based control for the lighting. This app talks to a service installed in your PC over the Internet, which interacts with the graphics card. Much like the regular black RTX 4070 SUPER EX Gamer, the two cards stick with NVIDIA-reference clock speeds of 2475 MHz boost for the GPU, and 21 Gbps (GDDR6X-effective) for the memory. KFA2 is pricing both the Pink and White variants at 679€ including taxes, a 20€ premium over the regular black EX Gamer card.

Galax did a rather unique custom-design take on the GeForce RTX 3050 6 GB, NVIDIA's new entry-level GPU. Called simply the RTX 3050 6 GB LP White, the card is an ode to the white color scheme not just for its cooler shroud and fan impellers, but even the PCB itself. That's right, the card features an all-white PCB to go with its aluminium monoblock heatsink that uses an extruded aluminium design, with a pair of 40 mm fans ventilating it.

Another surprising design choice with this card is that it provides four display connectors within its half-height PCB, without a breakout connector. Display connectors include two each of DisplayPort 1.4a and HDMI 2.1 ports. The card sticks to the reference speeds of the RTX 3050 6 GB, especially taking advantage of its 70 W TGP, which means it does away with power connectors, and extends its heatsink across much of the PCB's topside. Despite this, the card offers a tiny factory overclock of 1485 MHz, compared to 1470 MHz reference. The four display connector setup in particular should appeal to the non-gaming crowd that needs a graphics card for multiple displays. The company didn't reveal pricing.

GALAX is known to go overboard with its top flight graphic card models—the introduction of GeForce RTX 40 SUPER models has further lengthened the manufacturer's naming conventions. A Hall of Fame (HOF) OC LAB Master Edition card based on NVIDIA's freshly launched GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER GPU has been introduced via a Galaxy BBS blog post. As befits such a fancily named card, GALAX has rolled out the red carpet with a very special cooling solution that is designed to temper a substantial (211 MHz) overclock over Team Green's reference settings. Its 2685 MHz spec sits atop the customized GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER GPU pile—VideoCardz notes that another high-end option—GIGABYTE's AORUS RTX 4070 SUPER MASTER model—trails by a 30 MHz margin.

The GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Hall of Fame OC LAB Master Edition graphics card sports an almost all-white design, even its PCB is outfitted in a pale hue. This Ada Lovelace AD104-350-A1-driven flagship is specced with a 250 W TGP as standard, user-adjustable up to 320 W. A three-pin to sixteen-pin adapter is supplied by default; ensuring that more than enough juice is supplied. GALAX states that the card features a 12+3 phase design, coupled with a power section is controlled by an XDPE10281 PWM. The Chinese manufacturer hints that more white Master Edition SUPER models are incoming (see below). We hope to see further announcements, and full product pages uploaded to their web site(s), but GALAX is unlikely to sell these top flight cards outside of their native market.

The first review of a Chinese-exclusive "RTX 4090D" GPU model hit the internet last week—Expreview received a sample GALAX RTX 4090 D Metal Master model not long ago, and their testing team proceeded to find out whether the nerfed version of NVIDIA's flagship gaming GPU was truly compromised in terms of performance. Effective October 2023, the US Federal Trade Commission placed restrictions on Team Green—thus blocking trade of units based on the "Ada Lovelace" AD102-300 GPU in China. In turn, a variant—AD102-250-A1—was prepared in order to confirm to new policies.

NVIDIA's China-specific GeForce RTX 4090D launched officially right at the end of 2023. Board partner GALAX seems to be leading the pack, with customized versions being sent out for evaluation. The GeForce RTX 4090D GPU arrives with a lesser configuration: 14,592 CUDA, 456 Tensor, and 114 RT cores—but the first review indicates that this only trails behind its uncompromised sibling by roughly 5 to 6% across sixteen games. It lags behind in Stable Diffusion benchmarks—an AI workload at 512x512 resolution shows a 10% difference, although the gaps narrows at 768x768 and 1024x1024.

We were at NVIDIA's CES booth earlier today, and snapped a constellation of brand new GeForce RTX 40-series SUPER graphics cards, waiting to hit the shelves, starting January 17. We already went hands on with the RTX 4080 SUPER Founders Edition yesterday at the iBUYPOWER booth, we caught another one of these on display, next to the RTX 4070 SUPER FE. There won't be an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER FE, which will be a custom-only launch. Every single NVIDIA board partner that sells in the West had their models on display at the booth, spanning all three of the new GPUs.

GALAX is a much older brand than it looks, dating back to 2003, when it did business as "Galaxy," selling custom-design GeForce 400 series graphics cards with its signature shade of deep blue for the PCB, and Zalman-sourced coolers. The company is celebrating its 20th anniversary, at least in its largest market of China, where it launched a special edition GeForce RTX 4070 Ada graphics card, called simply the 20th Anniversary Edition.

The card features an all-white look, and an interesting cooler airflow design. The card is no more than 2 slots thick, and features a slender aluminium fin-stack heatsink. Two of its three fans are located on the obverse side of the card. There is an intake where you'd expect the third fan to be, which is actually on the reverse side of the card, blowing outward (pulling air through the heatsink, much like NVIDIA's dual-axial flow-through cooler in some of its Founders Edition cards. The card uses a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, which has been tucked away behind a magnetic cover. The card offers factory overclocked speeds of 2610 MHz maximum boost, compared to 2475 MHz reference (+5.5%). The company didn't reveal pricing.

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 40 series lineup of graphics cards has been supporting massive cooler designs ranging from three to four slots in thickness, with gamers rarely even getting a standard two-slot solution available. However, GALAX recently announced a novel entry into this lineup: the RTX 4060 Ti Max 16 GB Unparalleled Max, a GPU noted for its unprecedented single-slot design and exceptionally thin 20 mm profile. This model, previously previewed on GALAX's China website, stands out with its unique vapor chamber cooling system paired with a copper heatsink, diverging from the typical multi-fan setups seen in the market. Measuring at 267x111x20 mm, the design is very friendly towards smaller cases with room for only a single slot cooler.

The RTX 4060 Ti Max is set to operate at a default clock speed of 2535 MHz, with a power target of 165 Watts, suggesting a solid performance base for all GPU-intensive sessions. Currently, GALAX has yet to indicate the availability of an 8 GB version or the inclusion of a non-Ti model with this cooler, as only a 16 GB version has been shown. Interestingly, GALAX has made overclocking the card possible; however, the voltage regulation module setup is 6+2 VRMs placed on a six-layer PCB, not providing an ideal overclocking setup. Additionally, while feasible, overclocking the GPU with such a tiny single-slot cooler should be approached cautiously.More images, along with specification table (in Chinese), can be seen below.

When GALAX began its operations in China in 2003, the company broke into the market and established itself as one of the best GPU AIBs out there. Now, the company is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special-edition graphics card to mark its two-decade run. We have previously reported that the company is planning to show more of the special-edition card; however, all we managed to get was a teaser of the GPU. Today, thanks to the X/Twitter user CornerJack we manage to see the new GPU in person and its uniquely positioned 12VHPWR power connector.

In the images below, we see that GALAX decided to work around the problem of bad cable management by introducing a more stealthy approach. The 16-pin 12VHPWR connector is now hidden inside of a GPU in an interesting place. The connector is placed in line with the GPU, next to the PCIe connector, to prevent cable bending, which is proven infamously dangerous. In regards to the special-edition features, we expect the card to be a great performer and certainly a star of the show of any PC build due to its white aesthetics.
