Palit Unveils its Own GeForce GTX 460 2 GB Graphics Card

What happens in Gainward, stays in Palit. Barely a week after Gainward showed off its GeForce GTX 460 graphics card with 2 GB of memory, its brand owner Palit has its own model of the same kind, called the Palit GTX 460 2 GB Sonic. This non-reference design graphics card has Palit's own design PCB and cooler, has 2 GB of memory across a 256-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, and factory-overclocked speeds of 700 MHz core, 1400 MHz CUDA cores, and 900 MHz (3600 MHz effective) memory. Display connectivity includes two DVI, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort. The is said to be priced around 240 EUR.

Gainward Designs Overclocked GTX 460 Graphics Card with Double Memory

Gainward is working on an upper-mid range graphics card based on the newly released NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 graphics processor, with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 256-bit wide memory interface, and some factory-overclocked speeds. It is branded under Gainward's GOOD Golden Sample marker. That card uses Gainward's own design PCB and cooling solution. The red PCB is of the same length as the reference PCB, but holds four display connectors (any two can be used simultaneously), that include two DVI, one D-Sub, and HDMI. Based on the 40 nm GF104 GPU, Gainward's card has clock speeds of 700 MHz core (vs. 675 MHz reference), 1400 MHz CUDA core, and 900 MHz (3600 MHz effective) memory. It is likely to cost over 210 EUR.

Gainward Intros GeForce GTX 470 Golden Sample

Gainward released a new custom-design GeForce GTX 470 graphics card, which is based on the Gainward GTX 470 GOOD Edition that was launched a month ago, replicated as Palit GTX 470 Dual-Fan. The factory-overclocked model is designated with the Golden Sample (GS) identifier. It packs clock speeds of 650/1301/850(3400) MHz (core/shader/memory), against reference speeds of 607/1215/837(3348) MHz.

As with the GOOD Edition design, it features a slightly longer PCB at 10.5 inches, custom dual-fan GPU cooler, and display outputs which include two DVI-D, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort (though only two displays can be connected at a time). The DirectX 11 compliant GeForce GTX 470 packs 448 CUDA cores, and 1280 MB of GDDR5 memory across a 320-bit wide memory interface. It is expected to be priced at a slight premium of the GOOD Edition.

Gainward Launches GeForce GTX 470 GOOD Edition Graphics Card

A "GOOD" news announced by Gainward, a leading brand in enthusiastic graphics cards, keeps its glorious traditions, redefines performance by release of Gainward Optimized Own Design (GOOD). Gainward races against competitions and develops the market first own designed GeForce GTX 470 "GOOD" Edition with "Gamer's Spirit" in mind. The card received optimized circuit layout on a longer PCB (10.5 inches to NVIDIA reference 9.5 inches), which enables better overclockability owing to plentiful PWM power modules with rugged solid-state components on better ground, also allows to accommodate larger heat-pipes cooler with dual 8 cm double bearing fans, which improved thermal characteristics and significantly reduced noise at full load. Gainward GeForce GTX 470 GOOD Edition features 1280MB GDDR5 memory clocked at 1674MHz (Bandwidth 133.92 GB/sec), core clock is set at standard 607MHz. Although clockrate is rather modest by default, better cooling and optimized circuit have left lots of headroom for overclocking by Gainward award winning graphics tuning utility - Expertool, which activates clockrate settings and fan control with user-friendly interface and fail-safe clock-down override. Gainward Announces Single-PCB Version of GeForce GTX 295

Gainward just became the next major company from NVIDIA's list of partners, to offer single PCB version of the well known dual-GPU GeForce GTX 295 graphics monster. Gainward has decided to use the NVIDIA reference design for this card, and only decorate the stock cooling with its own stickers. Clock speeds are also set to the reccomended minimum of 576 MHz for the core, 1242 for the shaders and 2016 MHz for the 1792 MB of on-board GDDR3 memory. The card is PhysX and CUDA ready, and can be paired with another one to work in Quad SLI mode. Gainward will ask around 450 Euro when the card becomes available later this month.

Gainward To End Partnership with AMD/ATI

Less than a year ago, Palit-owned Gainward, a premium graphics card manufacturer, signed a contract with AMD/ATI and began to manufacture graphic accelerators with AMD/ATI Radeon chips. However, it now seems that Gainward will end its relationship with AMD/ATI and return to being an NVIDIA-only board partner. This is further backed by the fact that Gainward has not released any Radeon HD 4890 or HD 4770 cards and apparently it has already notified some distributors about ending its AMD/ATI line-up.

Gainward Readies Radeon HD 4850 GS GLH Card with 512 MB of GDDR5 Memory

NVIDIA partner Gainward is preparing to launch a custom Radeon HD 4850 that, instead of the usual GDDR3 memory, utilizes GDDR5 memory. Gainward calls the card Radeon HD 4850 Golden Sample Goes Like Hell, pretty long name for a card, but you can always use the Radeon HD 4850 GS GLH abbreviature. The card's specifications include 512 MB of GDDR5 memory with 256-bit memory interface, a dual-slot cooler, and D-Sub, DVI, DisplayPort and HDMI connectors. Clock speeds for this particular model are 700 MHz for the GPU and 3600 MHz for the memory. Gainward's HD 4850 512MB GS GLH is expected to hit the stores in a few weeks time.

AMD GPG To Make and Break Partnerships With AIBs

AMD's graphics product group, the core division that handles the company's ATI graphics and AMD chipset product lines, is said to be engaging in a reshuffling of its add-in board partners (AIBs). These are companies that manufacture and/or sell ATI Radeon-based graphics cards. With the recent success of the Radeon HD 4000 series graphics processors, the company added two more popular AIBs: Pine Group (XFX Graphics) and Gainward, a subsidiary of Palit.

Inter-AIB competition meant that a few weaker, non-performing AIBs have come to light, which AMD is reportedly contemplating breaking partnership with. GeCube is the first brand. GeCube is the channel-vendor brand for InfoTek Corp, a manufacturing partner for AMD GPG. Speculation is rife about hardware giant ASUS also being in the league. The most plausible explanation is poor sales figures.

On the other hand, a Chinese company that is relatively unknown to the Western markets yet not new to selling graphics cards, Colorful is joining AMD's league as an AIB.

Gainward Shows the Ultimate 3D Gaming Graphics Experience with iZ3D Monitors at CeBit

Gainward Copies Palit With Custom Cooled 1 GB GeForce GTX 285 Card

There's a new card being prepared by Gainward. Named after Cáo Cāo, a warlord in ancient China, Gainward GeForce GTX 285 Cao Cao Edition borrows the whole concept of Palit's custom GeForce GTX 285 card with 1 GB and 2 GB memory. Regardless of the mighty dual-slot cooler, the card is stock clocked at 648 MHz for the 55nm GPU, 1476 MHz for the 240 Processing Cores and 2484 MHz for the memory. In contrast to Palit cards, the Cao Cao Gainward will ship with "only" 1GB of GDDR3 memory. The card is also said to cost around $440 when released.

Gainward Out with Radeon HD 4870 X2 Golden Sample

Gainward, a subsidiary of Palit, has announced the Radeon HD 4870 X2 Golden Sample. The graphics card is identical to the Revolution R700 Deluxe by the parent company Palit, while going with Gainward branding to cater to the company's target markets. Gainward focuses on the Asian markets, where it has most of its influence on. The other subsidiary of Palit, XpertVision, is reportedly being dissolved into the parent brand, as brand Palit has started to have market presence in XpertVision's target market.

The card spans across three expansion slots for its massive cooler. It features two RV770 graphics processors by ATI aided with 2 GB of total memory based on the GDDR5 memory standard. It features a dual-link DVI, a D-SUB, a DisplayPort and a HDMI port. The availability and pricing of this card, is intended to be synchronized with those of the Palit card, they might reach markets at the same time, just that they release in different parts of the world. Gainward Launch Feature-rich Radeon HD 4670

Gainward has launched a custom design Radeon HD 4670 graphics card featuring the latest GPU from ATI. The card spans across two slots. While cooling might attribute to that, the other reason is that Gainward has provided every kind of display connector that's standard today. The card has a dual-link DVI, an analog D-Sub, a HDMI with 7.1 ch audio, and a DisplayPort connector.

It comes with the RV730 core clocked at 750 MHz, features 512 MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 2000 MHz. Underneath the sporty grill hood of the card is a cooler consisting of a fan blowing air onto a heatsink with radially projecting fins. Such a cooler can be seen on some of Gainward's own mid-range GeForce Golden Sample series graphics cards, though this card didn't get that title.

Gainward Non-reference Radeon HD 4870 Fresh out

Gainward, a subsidiary of Palit Microsystems presented a set of pictures of its non-reference HD 4870. It will share this design with the Palit Radeon HD 4870 Sonic. Gainward sought aggressive cooling and overclocking for this card. The card will continue to feature 512 MB of GDDR5 memory. This card features dual-BIOS, a BIOS maintains 750 MHz / 950 MHz core and memory parameters, while a second high-performance BIOS ups these frequencies to 775 MHz / 1000MHz. Presumably this mechanism brings about redundancy with the BIOS, a boon for overclockers as accidental damage to the card due to tweaking the BIOS could be easily resolved.

Gainward to Become a Neutral Board Partner

Traditionally a board partner with NVIDIA, Gainward, a subsidiary of Palit, decides to become a neutral board vendor selling graphics cards featuring GPUs from both NVIDIA and AMD/ATI.

They have slated versions of the Radeon HD4800 series for release soon. These cards will feature the usual Gainward-exclusive features such as the EXPERTool, to monitor the GPU temperature and fan speed of the GPU, In addition, possible changes fan speed, frequency kernel GPU, memory and Shader unit.

Would other NVIDIA board partners follow suit? Only time will tell.
